This is number 5 in the Royal Seductions series and is another well written Harlequin by Ms Celmer. Another typical Harlequin plot in that boy meets girl, girl falls in love and believes boy loves her too, they get married only for her to find out that it is a business arrangement and that he doesn't love her at all.
This book did exactly what is was supposed to do in that it made me emotional. I felt both anger at how the H and his family treated the h and sadness/tears about how she felt and the impact on her over several months.
I was pleased when she finally woke up to the situation and refused to be a doormat anymore and kicked his butt into touch - in typical Harlequin style this made him realise that he did in fact love her and refused to let her go.
I would happily recommend Ms Celmer and this series to anyone who likes reading Harlequins

Did not like it, it didn't make much sense to me that after hero and heroine married that him and his siblings were so mean to her, they all got along great before and she never did anything to necessitate their behavior. Hero seemed like a good guy before the marriage and the change wasn't really explained all that well. Np.

Lumayanlah tidak banyak menghayal mesum si Melissa-nya. Saya agak bingung dengan asal usul Melissa yang dikaitkan sebagai anak haram raja di Morgan Isle, penjelasannya kurang detail. Bagi yang tidak mengikuti seri ini, kurang dapat penghayatan bagaimana hidup Melissa di US dan setelah kematian ibu dan ayah tirinya. Konfliknya cepat terselesaikan dengan Christian yang langsung sadar cintanya ke Melissa. Sayangnya misteri pembobolan email pribadi Christian dan adik-adiknya belum terungkap.

Melissa is the long-lost illegitimate child of the Morgan Isle throne. She reunites with her family and don't find them very welcoming, but no matter. They send her to Thomas Isle to establish a relationship of trust with the royal family there. She doesn't know that Prince Christian and his siblings are expecting a marriage of convenience, so when Chris starts seducing her, she thinks it's because he really likes her and her alone. He's plenty attracted, but he's planning on a marriage without love, but thankfully the sex is going to be great. Melissa doesn't learn of the scheme until her wedding night, when she tells her husband she loves him and Chris is flabbergasted and sets her straight. Melissa wants love and family, while Chris is all about duty. Will she be able to convince Chris they could have so much more?
This started out promising and even with a bit of a mystery to it as the Thomas Isle royal family has a hacker/some evil villain who clearly means them harm. It seems that the mystery gets dropped part way through and is presumably picked up in later books. I don't really like it when that kind of things gets carried across plot-lines (at least without a clear indication that it will). And while the relationship that built between Melissa and Chris was good, the fact that Melissa stayed in her emotionless marriage and was actually hoping to get pregnant while her husband spent NO time with her during the day, felt very out of character for the way her personality was established. She was bright, clever, insightful and spirited. Yet, she finds out it was an MOC and she promptly removes her spine and becomes the dutiful bedwarmer for her husband. Fortunately, she does dust that spine off and reinsert it before the end of the book, but I couldn't fathom that she spent 3 months "stuck" in her marriage...or that she later claims to have loved that version of her husband too. I do like that his family gives him major grief over his actions, but they needed to do a bit of groveling themselves.

Seperti yang gw duga,kalo ini series punya makanya itu soal "hantu jahe" gantung banget penyelesaiannya plus cerita saudara2 tiri dari heroine yg tdk mengambil porsi banyak tapi cukup sangat banyak penjelasan mengenai mereka membuat gw makin bertanya2 ini novel series yang mana yak???
Hero, pangeran Chris, dari Morgan Isle menjalani tanggung jawab mjd pemandu Yang Mulia, Melissa, anak tidak sah dari Raja Tommy Isle (yang awalnya di bab depan dijelaskan bahwa Morgan&Tommy adl 1 kerajaan yg terpecah belah krn perebutan kekuasaan anak kembar dari kerajaan terdahulu) yang melakukan kunjungan "politik". Tidak dijelaskan buat apa Melissa melakukan kunjungan politik, apakah disuruh Phillip atau diundang oleh Keluarga kerajaan Chris? Jadi agak bingung ketika dikaitkan bahwa Melissa melakukan kunjungan berbau politik.
Kebersamaan mereka membawa hubungan percintaan spt "roller coaster" dlm waktu 1 hari sdh tdk tahan utk tdk bersama-sama dan dlm hitungan hari telah tjd momen "tidur bersama" yg berujung di pernikahan. Alurnya sangat cepat kan??gw juga berasa ini seperti pembaca diburu-buru utk memasuki tahapan masa "romance" hero dan heroine. Sayangnya ada bagian yg juga bikin gw bingung, ketika Chris menuduh bahwa Mellissa melakukan manipulasi perasaan, bahwa pernikahan mereka adl pernikahan yg diatur dari awal.
Hanya saja ketika dikonfrontasikan ke Sophie dan Phillip, saudara tiri si heroine, mereka malah tdk tahu soal pernikahan yg diatur tsb. Pertanyaan besarnya adl sama pihak keluarga heroine manakah yang dilakukan diskusi mengenai pernikahan politik antara Chris dan Mellisa sedangkan Phillip sendiri saja sebagai kepala keluarga kerajaan Tommy island sendiri tdk mengetahui soal "pengaturan pernikahan politik" makin bingung kan???!!!!!
Plus endingnya sangat menyebalkan, si Chris sama sekali bukan gentle...jelas2 sdh merasakan kehampaan dan sadar kalo Mellisa adalah jiwanya tapi tetap aja ga mau mengejar Mellisa ke rumah keluarganya, malah asik aja nunggu di Morgan Island..masa iya seorang pangeran berpribadian seperti pengecut gitu..lansung minus 1000 derajat

Baca HQ ini emang kayak makan yg enak bgt n porsinya mini alias aku mau tambah lagi tapi udah ga ada. Jadi masih laper hehe... Melissa yg seorang Princess (yg ga sah) jatuh cinta dengan Prince Christian. Tapi sayang si Chris ini taunya Melissa merid krn pingin jadi ratu di Thomas Isle. Pokoknya...lumayan buat kudapan baca hehe... :p

OK, so this is one of the series.
But still, some mysteries are left unexplained. Who hacked the system, and why? What is the significance of the not-so-innocent rhymes? That refrains me from giving more stars to this book.

Gak ngerti ceritanya. Mestinya GPU ngambil seri Royal Seduction aja daripada Mr. Juli biar kita lebih ngarti ceritanya. Cerita gantung to the max!
