I chose this book to read to my young students as an informational book and she loved it!! The book lists 12 different colors and 7 animals for each color. Each animal had a small description about them. I do wish the there were either longer descriptions or more animals just because it felt like we read about each of them so quick. The illustrations are not hand drawn but print photo. Very beautiful and stimulating to read!

Beautiful, vibrant photographs of animals across the color spectrum and the animal kingdom. The brief paragraphs about each of the creatures have some hidden gems and are surprisingly engaging; my kids laughed themselves sick when they read on the green page that the emerald tree boa "looks friendly but still scares moms in zoos" and also on the blue page that young dragonflies "breathe air through their butts." I haven't heard the end of that one since...

A nice twist is that after the pages dedicated to a single color each, Ms. Fielding includes pages with two-color combinations (the red and blue page was an eye opener even for me), ending with "rainbow" or animals with many colors like toucans and the dogbane beetle.

Animal Colors may be a very simplistic book but it is such a great book to look through and learn from! At first I thought this book was in the wrong area but turns out this book is all about facts. By showing many animals that go with all the different colors we see everyday. To pair with this colorful book I chose Giraffes can't dance by Giles Andrae. This text is such a great one to look through because of the vibrant colors seen in the jungle setting as well as all of the animals that can be seen. The students could practice finding certain animals and naming the colors after having read Animal Colors.

This book is really well done, I think. It takes the animal kingdom and divides it up by color. The photography is excellent, and Lincoln really like seeing the different kinds of animals. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because the discriptions of the animals are not written in complete sentences and that bothered the english gene in me :)

Amazing, beautiful photographs. Along with the usual colors, there are also animals that are several colors at once (yellow and orange, or blue and green). Plus a lot of information about the animals shown. I think even grade school readers will enjoy this.

This is a very beautifully illustrated color book. Each double-page spread is one color and photographs of animals of those brilliant colors. In addition, there are pages at the back with blends of colors. For instance, animals with red and blue, or yellow and orange.

I love that this book does not have typical animals. The colors are beautiful. More colors definitely could have been added because you want to see more of the awesome animals. A great board book for 0-4 age group.

The pictures are stunning, the writing is boring. I know this is more of an informative book but still, the writing could have been a tad more entertaining.

This is a wonderful book for pre-K to any age! The photos are fantastic, arranged by the color of the animal, and the text is intriguing and informative. Great job Ms. Fielding!
