I got this book for $3 because I’d been curious on different religions. I ended up learning that a lot of the eastern philosophies encouraged deep introspection to understand the world/universe around us unlike most western religions who use ancient text as the end all be all. I honestly don’t exactly know which religion, if any, I’m leaning towards after reading. Maybe it’s best to be able to pick up what I want from each and be a slave to none fr. 🐢

Absolutely fantastic reference, which is enjoyable to just pick up and read at random.

As a Buddhist practitioner, I come back to this book, which I have owned for the last 25 years, time and time again for explanations of terms which, although I have heard before, I don't completely understand or forget. When I look up a term, I then end up looking up other terms to fully understand what is being said. Very thorough. Not only is there an explanation of the term, but also, where the term is significant, explanations of how the various schools of Buddhism view the term. This book is an essential reference for any practitioner.
