I did enjoy this one. It was so funny. This story is about Frostie and Clause. Frostie is Tinsel best friend, Clause is kind of a lumber man, he's huge. They have a crush for each other since the first time they lay their eyes on one another. Claus doesn't know how to catch her attention, so he decides to blackmail Frostie. This will cause a lot of misunderstandings, and of course, Tinsel is in the middle almost all, so the result is a lot of laughs. Tinsel is immature, annoying and for some people it could make rating low. For me, it's the reason why I'm rating higher. This is a quick reading, with the purpose to make us laugh. Tinsel is the secret ingredient that makes this works so well.
(...)She’s the sheriff of Troping, which is funny because if anyone is up to no good, it’s actually her.(...)
Loved this one! Love, love, LOOOOVED IT! It had that old Alexa Riley spark that always brought the swoon for me! This was both steamy and stinkin cute! The hero was grumpy, but shy and adorkable, too. The heroine was sweet and quirky. And both were virgins!!!
This was fast, funny and super sweet with lots pf heat!
Safe. Dual virgins. No others, no cheating or sharing or abuse. HEA with epilogue
🎄Blackmailed by the Grump de Alexa Riley ✨
Argumento:
“Because you growl at them. If you smiled, girls would probably fall at your feet.” They already check him out, but I don’t tell him that.
“It doesn’t matter. I want you.” He leans in and nuzzles my neck, and I feel him breathe me in. “I’ve never been with anyone either.” My fingers in his hair tighten. “I like my space but not with you. I want to be all over you, you’re so sweet. You’re the most precious, beautiful thing I’ve ever seen.”
Clause and Frostie were flip flopping adorable. I have to stop reading and go to bed but this series has me locked in !!
I love a Grumpy/Sunshine romance with an age gap and a tattooed giant of a man. Clause checked all the boxes twice !!
Frostie runs a successful bakery that becomes a little too successful. Thanks to her bestie, Tinsel, setting up a website, she becomes hard pressed to keep up with orders. This leads her to do something that she hopes to keep secret. Unfortunately, Clause knows her secret and uses it against her. Which leads to rather interesting circumstances. Steamy circumstances.
This was a fun one as Clause "tricked" Frostie into visiting him on the daily. I don't think anyone was surprised when they hooked up and fell in love as the town grump turned out to be a real softie.
Romance trope: holiday story Length: 1096 locations
Plot: Frostie is known far and wide for her cupcakes, so when Clauses sees her in the next town over buying boxed mix, he takes the opportunity to blackmail her into making desserts for him at his house. Obviously, he would like her to be his dessert. But a few desserts, one competition, and a terrible misunderstanding later, and this relationship might have failed before it even began.
Commentary: I know I've definitely read a book almost just like this, and this is an issue I see often in AR books. This reminded me of a duet I read recently by Lucy Darling and Mink - maybe we've solved the question of who they are? (The Christmas-themed town, the best friend who's also a sheriff and in love with someone in town, etc. I know those are kind of tropes and can appear in a lot of different stories, but this one just felt too on the mark).
Anyways, hate the names of the characters. The story was okay but just didn't hit that sweet spot for me, mostly because I've read others just like it that were a little better.
What a fun story! I liked that they were both shy, and they were attracted to each other, but being shy, they didn’t realize it. He got her to spend some time with him, and it was sweet. Add some drama and a fantastic friend, some inside information, and they fall hard. Loved the epilogue.
“And there goes the rest of my heart as I hand it over to her. Damn. She didn’t even have to ask for it.” -Claus, from Blackmailed by the Grump from Alexa Riley

Of course, the person who owns the bakery is called Frostie, and their best friend is Tinsel. Actually, NVM I realised this is the same mini-series I read earlier this month where all the characters had Christmas-themed names. Haha love the world-building development here. LITERAL EXAMPLE “Hey, Clause, what brings you into town?” North says as he holds out his hand. (LIKE COME ON). Also, God forbid someone buys cake mix instead of making everything from scratch, and it becomes the whole plot.
Fav notes: - She doesn’t hand me the coffee like she would another customer. Instead she sets it down and places the single pack of sugar beside it. At least she remembers my order. I don’t even like sugar in my coffee, but one day I asked for it so that I didn’t have to walk away so soon. - I’m not a people person, and that’s her whole personality. She remembers names and birthdays of her customers and has little inside jokes. She even sets special treats aside for certain people, and I have to sit here and endure hours of it because today I’ve got a purpose. - “You said I needed a Christmas tree.” There’s about fifty boxes and bags filled with decorations because I wasn’t sure what she would need. “The sales lady seemed excited.” “You think?” Frostie turns wide eyes on me. “You could decorate your house ten times over. How many trees did you get?” “Seven?” I guess, scratching the back of my head. “Seven!” She sounds like she’s mad, but somehow she looks like this is the best news she’s ever gotten in her whole life. “I just kept saying yes every time she scanned something, so I’m not exactly sure.” I point my thumb over my shoulder. “The rest is in the living room.” - “Good to see you again,” Jack says and looks at my clothes. “With a shirt on.” - “Well, when she’s mad at Tinsel, all it takes is a drive down Canterberry lane to look at the Christmas lights,” Jack offers, and Tinsel smacks his chest. “That’s a secret,” she hisses, and Jack shrugs. “He’s the enemy.”
Kinda smut? I guess? - “I know what I saw, and I know what I can get for being quiet.” “So that’s the blackmail, huh? One chocolate cake for your silence?” I let that hang between us for a moment as she takes out the ingredients. “No,” I finally say, and her eyes snap to mine. “Two chocolate cakes?” she offers nervously, and I shake my head. “Three?” “I want you to come bake something for me every day.” “What?” she snaps a little too quickly and then tries again. “You can’t be serious. I can’t drive out here every night and make you dessert.” “Why not?” - “You’re wiggling your ass against my cock.” I have to fight not to do it again. Now that he said it, that's all I can think about. “You’ve got a hold of my boob,” I point out. He could have let that go at any time because I’m sure he grabbed it in his sleep or something. Clause isn’t handsy. In fact, he gives me too much space at times. I remember after my first drink trying to flirt with him, but I don’t think it worked. “You’re the one that demanded cuddles.” “I demanded cuddles?” That must have been after the third drink. Is that my flirt game? To demand cuddles? I start to giggle, and my whole body shakes. - He buries his face in my neck, and a warm shiver spreads over my body.
A beautiful line that can mean a few things: “It’s really all about the frosting.” ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ I would choose Clause as my forever too, who wouldn’t love a man who has such a big heart to feed a Mama Bear and her cubs during the winter ❄️🐻🧸🧸🥩❄️ -from a safe distance away of course- 😉 Plus, I seem to love the grunters too..lol!! 🤭 🎄 cute, Christmassy, sweet with touch of a naughty with Clause who used blackmail to get his crush (Frostie) to bake for him 🧁🧁🧁🧁🧁… in his house!! (not much in the way of hanky-panky, but just soooo cute)
💚💚💚💚💚Absolutely LOVING Tinsels kooky behaviour 🤣🤣🤣 and what an awesome BFF with no fear button 😆
💋💋💋💋💋 I’m loving the covers too! I’m trying to find this series in paperback 💋💋💋💋💋 (If anyone knows were to find in paperback drop a line in the comments please😉)
Super-Hiper-Ultra-Mega-Power recomendado!
