Maybe this Christmas...?
It has been seven long years since Kara Jameson last saw Jason Greene. Returning home as a wounded war hero, Jason looks a shell of the man she once knew. Yet her heart still skips a beat as if it was yesterday.
Stepping back into civilian life, Jason looks to Kara for help. But there's too much water under the bridge; not to mention too much lingering attraction.
But it seems that the mountain weather has other ideas, and when Kara and Jason end up snowbound together they are forced to confront the ghosts of Christmas past.

I love finding new authors to follow! This is my first Jennifer Faye book and it won't be my last. I was excited to learn that she writes clean/sweet romance and so I grabbed up a copy and dove in.
This book sucked me in from the start, I always enjoy a good second chance story and seeing what broke the couple up and how they'll find a way back to each other. Kara and Jason grew up together and were engaged to be married when suddenly Jason ended the relationship and joined the Army vowing never to return to his hometown or to Kara. Seven long years later he reappears, but still won't discuss why he left so suddenly.
I thought Kara and Jason had good chemistry. I was very curious about Jason's reasons for leaving and also to find out the secrets Kara was keeping as well. The story flowed well and I was able to read it in one sitting. I liked how things progressed, some things seemed a bit rushed or resolved a little quickly, but overall I thought it was an enjoyable read. I loved the Christmas touches throughout the story, really giving it a fun holiday feel.
Overall, a sweet romance. I look forward to reading more from Ms. Faye.

As i stated before, i won this book in a Goodreads Giveaway. Jennifer Faye proved herself to be a talented story teller. One of my favorite parts of this book, was probably an after thought. But it was Sly, the cat. He seemed like an important, and cute part of the story line. I loved how Sly went from Jason's cat, to Kara's cat, in 2 min. It was almost like Sly was trying to tell Jason something. I loved how, although Jason has a deadline for the opening of his remodeled Lodge, he always has time for Kara and her daughter Samantha. You will fall in love with Kara, just like i did. 5 stars!
Sizzle. The attraction between the two characters is SIZZLE. Past history, broken hearts. Now they have to work together. Throw in a child, an estranged parent and Christmas and you have the perfect combination of elements. Romantic. Content: references to a past relationships with sexual relations outside of marriage, one resulting in pregnancy. No details.
I read my first Jennifer Faye book, Rancher to the Rescue, a few months ago and fell in love with the romance and the characters. When asked to read her newest, Snowbound with the Soldier, there was no doubt in my mind that I wanted to read it. Once again, the romance and the chemistry between the characters was wonderful. I truly enjoyed this book, especially with it's winter theme. It was a perfect weekend read to curl up on the couch with a cup of coffee and to get lost in the story of Kara and Jason.
You're in for quite the journey from the minute you open the book. I loved how specific details about the book weren't as obvious as one would think and there was a time or two when I would make a prediction and end up being wrong. Snowbound with the Soldier is a heartfelt read about second chances and forgiveness. As for secondary characters, I adored little Samantha and her spunk and enthusiasm. You can't help but love her and adore her relationship with her mom and the one she quickly develops with Jason.
This is a wonderful read and just in time for the fast approaching holiday season.
I'm an absolute sucker for a heartwarming Christmas romance and Jennifer Faye delivers with Snowbound with the Soldier. I read this book in a day, completely absorbed by Kara and Jason's story, as well as the charming Christmas setting. Jason is a hero I fell in love with. He's emotionally and physically wounded, but he's a man with a heart of gold and just needs to heal. Kara was smart funny and trying to do her best as a single mother. I adored this book-there were funny, romantic moments and definite tear-jerking ones as well. I was desperate for these two (three because of Kara's adorable daughter!) to have their HEA. Snowbound with the Soldier was a feel-good romance with holiday sparkle and sizzle! Must-read!
My first book by Jennifer Faye and it won't be my last. It's beautifully written. It tugs at your heart strings, straightens them back out, then gives you a warm, glowy hug. A perfect Christmas read!
Very good book about second chances. Jason has returned to Pleasant Valley as the new owner of the resort, which he has purchased from his father, who he has not spoken to in seven years. He also hasn't seen Kara in seven years, ever since he broke their engagement and left town. Now he needs her help getting the resort back up and running. He would also like to clear the air between them and tell her why he left the way he did. There's still a strong attraction between them and Jason would like to start over, but he has to show her he can be trusted first.
I liked Kara. She is a great mom, devoted to making sure her daughter Sam has the best life she can give her. She has worked hard keeping the resort running under difficult circumstances. She has also been a friend to her ex-fiance's father, especially since he has been so ill. When she hears that the resort has been sold, she is worried about her job. When she discovers that Jason is the new owner she is sure that he won't want to keep her on, especially when he asks her to stay on "through the opening". They get caught in a blizzard and have to spend the time together until they can get out. She realizes that she is still attracted to him even though she doesn't want to be. As they work together on getting the resort up and running again, Kara realizes that she never stopped loving him. She slowly starts letting him back in her life. His easy relationship with her daughter softens her toward him even more. There are also some things that she needs to tell him about the past that she's afraid will make him look at her differently. I loved her support of him when he finally told her why he had left her all those years ago. I also liked the way she kept trying to get him to talk to his father before it was too late. After all her support of him it was heartbreaking to see his initial reaction to her revelations. When he came to his senses she could have made it a lot harder on him than she did.
Jason had run from Kara and Pleasant Valley after finding out some disturbing things from his father, things that made him feel that he wasn't safe to be around people like Kara. It also caused him to avoid any contact with his father. When he was wounded during the war and discharged he made the decision to purchase the resort and get it back the way it was during his grandfather's time. In order to do it right he needs Kara's help. He also wants to mend his fences with her and see if they can start over. Rather than come right out and tell her he wants her to stay on permanently at the resort, he decides to keep from pushing her and only asks her to stay for awhile. When they get snowed in at his house he wants to explain what had happened in the past but she didn't want to hear it. She also was trying to understand the new Jason, who doesn't celebrate Christmas and is very closed off emotionally. He starts to open up some when he meets Kara's daughter who he assumes is his. He really takes a shine to her and becomes more like the Jason she used to know. When their attraction really starts to heat up he knows he has to tell her his secret. It worries him because he's sure that she won't want anything to do with him afterwards. I loved his astonishment when it made no difference to her. That made his attitude toward her news that much harder to bear. I was glad to see him realize what an idiot he'd been. I loved his "go big" moment.
I also liked Kara's daughter Sam. She was a good blend of sweet and sassy. She took to Jason right away and had no problem trying to get her way with him, but not being a brat about it. She could be pouty or grumpy, but was mostly a good kid.

I have read Jennifer Faye’s novels from time to time and I always find them to be really great romance stories. This one is no exception. There were a few tiny rough spots here and there with one of the characters, but overall this book will have you in the holiday spirit in no time.
I love second change at love romances and when they are written around the holidays it makes it even better.
Kara is person I liked right away. After seven long years of dashed hopes and dreams she has managed to find a comfortable place in her life with her job and family. But, when the lodge comes under knew ownership , and it’s revealed that her former fiance is her new boss, Kara’s career may have to change. I admired Kara’s big heart and her integrity. She is open and able to forgive and understand even the most unbelievable and cruel things about what Jason has been though.
Jason was another story. A man that dumps his fiance without explanation, stays away for seven years, neglects his dying father, and then waltzes back into Kara’s life as though nothing ever happened, actually asking her if they can be friends…. well he didn’t endear himself to me all that much.
The theme here is a tiny bit dark in some places for a holiday novel. However, there is a cute kid whose character gives the book a dose sweetness and spunk that offsets some of the drama. Long held secrets will come to light, which once out in the open will have to be dealt with. Some are very hard to accept and Jason’s reaction and accusations were a little curious. Kara’s nature and good heart will be the key to how things turn out. She just doesn’t have it in her to cause Jason more suffering by holding on to hurt feelings. After all, Christmas is a time for forgiveness and new beginnings, and what is more romantic than second chances at love with a backdrop of snow and cozy fireplaces? I am so happy Jason and Kara will have their long overdue Happy Ever After.
This book was well written, evenly paced , emotional, and heartwarming. I would recommend adding this one to your holiday romance reading list.
It is a rather sweet book. I was expecting inappropriate scene's but there aren't any. Which is good!!! It is just sweet love. And a couple of hot and heavy kissing scenes... Sorry Taleisha, it is one of those romance books, but in a nice way.
Okay so meet Kara, single mother, hard working...brokenhearted. Then enter Jason, heartbreaker and ex-soldier.
Seven years prior, they had been engaged and happy and planning a life abroad together. His father had inherited his fathers snow resort. Then all of a sudden Jason walked out on their engagement, their town and Kara, destroying her, without any apparent reason. Little did she know that he viewed himself a monster because of his DNA. *SPOILER ALERT!* He was the result of his mothers rape. Then he comes back several years later with a medical discharge from the army and had bought the resort from his father. Kara, in his father's employ, now his, thinks that she is going to be fired because of their past. Though when he comes back, and she has a daughter, he finds himself falling for Kara once again and for her daughter Samantha.*SPOILER ALERT* After asking her to marry him again, she tells him that Samantha is Shaun's child, Jason's best friend (who died seven years ago). He becomes enraged and walks out on her again. Thinking she had lost her job,as he is her boss, she accepts a good job in another state. But then he apologizes, make's amends with his father, and asks her to marry him...AGAIN. when faced with her new job, he offers to sell his beloved resort and follow her and Samantha anywhere. but he doesn't, because Kara doesn't want to leave. so happily ever after comes in the form of a Christmas miracle.
You simply cannot ignore a good romantic novel. I have not read any of Jennifer Faye books before, but after reading Snowbound with the soldier i will certainly be reading more of her books.
Snowbound with the soldier was a very enjoyable love story.
I would recommend to anyone who loves a good love story, that will take you through lots of emotions and certainly keeps you wondering further.
I am one of those people that can be classified as a mood reader and toward the end of the year I get in the mood for those adorable and sweet like sugar cookie holiday romance reads. Oh don't get me wrong, I like my Christmas spices too, but the sweet tastes exceptionally well too. This book totally fit my expectations well with its hopeful heroine looking for her Christmas miracle and its embittered, lonely hero needing the very things he ran away from in the first place.
The story is about Kara a single mom who just worked her way into management at a ski resort near the small town where she grew up only to discover old Joe sold out to a corporation when his health grew bad. There are rumblings that the new ownership plan to overhaul everything including management. Joe is the father of the man who loved her and left her with no explanation all those years ago. Imagine her shock when that man, like a ghost from her past, shows up to announce that he is the new owner.
Jason ran away from his past including Kara to join the army. Things got bad, he was medically discharged and here he is back in the place to which he swore never to return. Kara is the manager of the resort and her experience and knowledge make her key to him standing a chance at making a go of his granddad's resort. His drunken father might have had no use for him, but he intended to prove himself and he needs to do it while keeping things strictly business with Kara because of the secret that he carries with him that would send her running even if she did forgive him for deserting her.
A big snowstorm blows through the area and forces Kara to hole up at Jason's cabin until the next day. She is scared to spend time alone with this new, aloof man who is a stranger, but not because she is so angry she can't stand him. No, that would be easier. She is scared because she is more susceptible than ever of falling for him especially when she realizes that Jason needs a good Christmas too and she really would like to be the one to help him find it.
Jason is shocked to discover Kara is a mother, but when he meets Samantha, it is love at first sight. For the first time in his life he has dreams of a family. Could this be his daughter? Kara says no, but those blue eyes. He realizes that inspite of his resolve to the contrary he wants this more than anything. But first, they have to deal with the heavy secrets of their past and hope for the strength to forgive and be forgiven. It might be too much.
The backdrop on this one is a country resort area in the winter just before Christmas. Description is smudgy and leaves it to the reader's imagination to carry it.
The pacing is gentle even if it spans only a few weeks' time frame. This is a second chance romance or -as I think of it an arrested romance- that was frozen for a time and now continues where it left off so the characters already know each other and have a history meaning the pace of the romance isn't that jarring when it comes on strong.
The plot development is simply that of dealing with the past so they have a chance for the present. The story is told third person and switches back and forth between Kara and Jason's perspectives. I enjoyed both of them. There were some really good heartwarming scenes particularly those that included the little girl, Samantha. There is a bit of internal angst too as both characters try to fight their ongoing attraction and stew about what the other will think of their secrets. I did have that moment where I was mad at Jason though I was keeping an open mind to find out just why he upped and ran out on Kara. It didn't help that like Jason I was fooled about Samantha. But in the end, I realized that sometimes the timing is just off on something and stuff needs to happen for people to be where they are at for their second chance.
All in all, this was a great sweet holiday romance that I can recommend to those who are looking for a nice feel-good, cozy contemporary holiday romance.
I received a free copy of this book in a Goodreads First Reads giveaway.
It feels so out-of-character for me to have actually enjoyed this book. I enjoy a good RomCom movie every now and then, but the plots are typically subpar, so that usually always ruins the movie for me. This was my first time reading a Harlequin Romance novel. Actually, this was my first time reading a ROMANCE novel... Wow. I know, right? I dove into this book thinking that I was going to hate it. Man, I couldn't have been more wrong. I mean, the novel isn't any sort of great literary classic or anything like that, but it had me grinning and it had me rooting for Kara and Jason to get back together. I even enjoyed Kara's daughter, Samantha... and I dislike most children.
This book is what a lot of people would classify as a "clean romance." I detest sex scenes in books just for the sake of throwing one in there. I hate them in movies and TV shows too. It's great when there's chemistry between the characters and when it's done tastefully, but, in most instances, sex scenes are just randomly thrown in. Ever seen the TV show True Blood? Dude. Awkward. Great TV show, but it's one step away from being a porno. Bleh. Don't worry, I'm not some sort of prude or anything like that! I just think that a little bit of detail goes a long way. I would allow a 10-year-old to read this book, that's how non-descriptive it was. Even the kissing scenes were far and few between. And those scenes were always interrupted by something or someone before it could go any further. Phew! I guess one reason that I have steered clear from this genre before now is that I was expecting a multitude of gratuitous sex scenes. Maybe other books in this genre are like that, but this one wasn't. There was an actual story in this novel that made me care about the characters. It read like a cute, romantic movie.
Let's talk about the cover. A-W-F-U-L. I almost didn't enter the giveaway for this book because of that gag-alicious cover. First off, Kara is described as having light-colored, short hair, so that can't be her on the cover of the book. I started reading the book imagining Kara as the girl on the cover, but then the descriptions of her were presented and I was left confused while trying to reform my mental image of her. It's like the cover designer just quickly created a cover from his archive of "people looking at each other lovingly" without caring very much. A photo of a lodge could have been used or something with snow. Heck, it could have been a photo of a guy and a girl sitting on a couch together in a log cabin with mugs of tea in their hands. I don't know. Anything but THIS cover. The reason I'm mentioning the cover is because I think more people would read this book if something else were on the cover. This cover just screams, "Check your brain in at the door!" It's insulting. This book was better than that.
This was a super quick read. The writing wasn't phenomenal, completely moving or tear-inducing, but I wasn't expecting that. I just wanted a decent story with a cast of characters that felt, well, real. Kara, Jason and Samantha all felt like real, flesh-and-blood people. Decent characters and a decent story; that's all I really ask for in a decent book. This short novel will give you just that. It's a light, breezy book to be read in-between the reading of other books. The book was formulaic (based on the romantic movies I've seen), so if you're not into that sort of thing, stray away from this book. I didn't mind it, especially considering that this was my first romance novel and I didn't know what to expect. It was heart-warming and a bit cheesy, but it made me smile at the end!
I love Harlequin. I really do, because of them I've been able to get myself out of a lot of reading funks and because of them I've discovered some great authors. Authors, like Jennifer Faye. Back in August I was first approached by the author to review her book and the other day I had the time on my hands to finally get to it.
Snowbound with the Soldier was a delightful read, and a quick one to. I went through the whole book on my Kindle within an hour and a half and I loved every single minute of it. I'm a sucker for second chance love stories, hero's battling demons (even if they're only internal ones) and I love romances set in small towns during Christmas time all of which this romance had in abundance.
Since this was my first foray into Faye's writing I was cautious like I usually am when it comes to a new to me author but I ended up loving her story within the first 20 pages I was hooked by Jason and Kara's love story because it was so realistic. Sometimes, while I love Harlequin Romance titles I find they can be a little unrealistic but this one had the feel of a romance I can see happening in real life, and I just love when I come across stories like this.
Kara was a sweetheart, she was devoted to her daughter, her family, her friends, her job, Jason's father but she totally wasn't expecting the man who broke her heart seven years ago to turn up and end up being her boss. However, unlike other heroines I've seen put in similar circumstances she handled it with a lot of grace and minimal freakouts. I just loved her and thought that her spunky personality and ability to not only put up with Jason's snark but to dish it back at him was really refreshing.
Jason on the other hand deserved a big ol' smack up side the head at least a dozen times throughout the book and if he were a real person I would have been more than happy to deliver those smacks with a smile. I get that he was battling some internal demons but his reasoning was so flawed I thought he was a little outrageous and found myself to be increasingly angry with him but in the end I liked him.
What I liked most was the fact that there was a slower build up for these two characters and while certain things happened a little quick for my tastes the fact that they had been engaged previously established a deeper connection between them so insta-love wasn't a factor (thank goodness). I loved the fact that book was set during the holidays because it made this sweet little romance all the more cozy.
Overall, I think Jennifer Faye may just be a new favourite author of mine. While I love my steamy romances sometimes I just love a sweet small two Christmas second chance love story like this one with compatible characters, a dash of drama and a whole lot of laughs.
I would recommend Snowbound with the Soldier to fans of the Harlequin Romance line who want a sweet romance without it being to sappy and something that is quick to read on a cool day curled up with a cup of tea. I for one am really looking forward to reading another of Jennifer Faye's books in the near future.
*I received a free copy of this book in exchange for my free and honest review. All thoughts and opinions expressed herein are 100% my own.
Snowbound With The Soldier was just the escape I needed. I was having a bad day and needed to unwind. I took my ebook into the bathtub. Well, not IN it :) But I was brave enough, or really foolish enough, to read in the tub. Jennifer Faye’s storytelling is sweet, without being sappy, and helped me relax and recharge. I adore second chance romances! They inspire hope that we don’t have to remain stuck by previous decisions and can find a happy ending.
Kara and Jason were high school sweethearts and engaged to be married… but he broke their engagement with no explanation and left her to pick up the pieces of her life. I liked Kara, she’s smart, determined and a bit sassy. She’s juggling being a single mom and worrying about losing her job at a resort that’s getting a new owner.
Guess who the new owner is? Yep. After seven years Jason has come home. He’s been medically discharged from the military and wants to make a new start… maybe make things right with Kara. Jason is wounded physically and emotionally. I grieved for him. He feels broken and unworthy of love. But his feelings for Kara never really went away and working together, and getting stranded in a snowstorm together, help him start to open up. I got a kick outa Jason’s relationship with Kara’s daughter, Samantha. He has kept very isolated and lonely for years, but Kara and her daughter walk right into his heart. It was fun to see him adjust to those emotions and try not to be a Scrooge!
There is a theme of forgiveness and hope running through this story that I loved. Both Kara and Jason have to build trust again and face some difficult truths. I was rooting for them to get their Christmas miracle.
A few of my fav lines…
♥ But the second thing he noticed that evening struck him most profoundly. They didn’t treat him like an outside. They included him in their talk, as if he was one of them. As if he was family.
♥ His finger traced Kara’s jaw. Her heart pounded in a most irregular rhythm. “I like her, too.” He stepped closer. “And I really, really like her mother.”
Snowbound With The Soldier is a story with relatable characters that made me sigh and nearly cry. I recommend it if you’re in the mood for a sweet romance about hope and love and Christmas cookies!
A story of two people who were once in love, and begin falling in love again. Kara Jameson and Jason Greene used to be engaged, until one day he left and never told anyone why. He comes drifting back into town and into Kara's life as he is her new boss. They both have a secret and both are afraid that when the other finds out, there will be no chance to rekindle their love.
I really enjoyed this book. It was a cute story of Kara, a hardworking, single mother, who will do anything for her daughter. Jason is a war vet who has returned home wounded. Kara begins to see the man she originally fell in love with, and so much more. Jason is struggling with not only his feelings for Kara, but a past that has continued to haunt him. I really enjoyed this cute love story.
I also have to say that this was the best packaged book I have ever received. It was beautifully wrapped with a pen, magnet, bookmark, and information on another book by the author.
I received a copy of this book for free through Goodreads First Reads.
This is such a sweet and delightful romance. Not only did it help my Holiday mood but it also but a smile on my face. I love these kinds of Harlequin books; they are the perfect length for a quick read when you just want something happy to read.
Kara’s heart was broken years ago when Jason ran away and joined the Army. Now he is back and he is the new owner of the resort that Kara manages. With everything that has happened Kara is not sure that they can work together. They both have their own devastating secrets and some of them might get in the way of the two of them coming back together.
I enjoyed the slow build up in the romance and how these two had past connection. The small twist of who is Kara’s daughter’s father was a bit unexpected. The plot moved along at a comfortable pace and just made this a nice book to read.
I am looking forward to seeing more books by this author!
A heart-warming story of lovers reunited on a treacherously snowy night. But they both have secrets that threaten them ever getting back together again. A great read!
It’s been seven years since Jason Greene broke Kara Jameson’s heart by breaking their engagement and leaving town. After receiving a medical discharge from the military, he and a few investors have purchased the Greene Summit Resort. His father had let it almost run into the ground. Now it’s up to Jason to bring it back to life. He also had to make amends with Kara, the woman he is still in love with. When he meets her daughter Samantha, he wonders if she is his but Kara tells him he is not the father. The more Jason is around them, he realizes they are the family he wants and he’s not running away anymore.
Jason's father grieved so much after his wife died that he failed to give his son the attention he needed. He told his son that he was not his biological father and that his father was a rapist who raped his mother. Jason was in shock and left home for the military. He did not intend to return but an explosion changed his mind. Kara tries to get Jason to see his father who is slowly dying. Jason remembers the man his father used to be and how he really was a father to him and goes to see him.
Kara admits that Samantha is not his but is Shaun's daughter. Shaun and Jason and Kara were pals and everyone thought Shaun and Jason were related as they looked alike. Jason thought they had betrayed him but realized he had left Kara and it was his own fault.
Jason finally realized his anger cost him the love of his life and he is ready to make amends.
After a seven year absence, Jason Greene returns home to save his grandparents' resort. His former fiancee, now a single mother, has been running it for his incapacitated father. Jason had broken his engagement without an explanation, although he still loved her. His time in the military had given him a new perspective and a disability. This romance centers on how trust and honesty can rebuild an old love into a new and stronger one.

First of all I want to apologize with the author, who gently provided me with a copy of her book because it took me forever to read her book and write this review. The reason is simple: the book was safely at home in Italy, while I was working in Sweden.
Backstory. My mum was really into Harlequin novels. She read lots of them and she used to leave them in the bathroom. I used to read something every now and then till I stumble across an Harlequin novel that really disgusted me. Unfortunately I don't remember neither the title nor the author so bear with me. There was this guy, maybe in his late thirties who was looking for a virgin wife. He was having dinner with a family with two daughters and he was studying them. He rejected the oldest one because he could tell that she'd had sex before. So he focused her attention on the youngest one, in her early twenties. Really, he could tell that one was an experienced woman and the other was a virgin? And he was so bossy and demanding and instructing her in every possible details that I really got fed up with the whole genre. It was the last straw, so to speak.
Back in the present. My parents were so surprised when they received the book because it was wrapped up in a pink plastic bag and came with a pink pen, a couple of bookmarks and little magnets. Really, the package was a pleasure to look at.
I came back home for the holidays and I finally had time to read Snowbound with the Soldier. I actually have a couple of prejudices against the whole genre but, at the same time, my ex special person was an US soldier and I'm still drawn to everything that has something to do with the military, which explained why I entered the giveaway.
I'm talking to much, I know.
Back to business. I really like the snowy setting of the book. Here it's raining and I've never had a snowy Christmas in my life. I like the fact that the female protagonist, Kara, has worked her way through the corporate ladder in the resort she's working at. I also appreciated the fact that Kara and Jason are equal. They are the same age and they seem to belong to the same social class. This may not be important for other readers but I really dislike it, when the guy is some extra wealthy tycoon and the girl is working some menial job to get by and then they get married and she doesn't have to work anymore.
At the same time, they are your typical characters from a romance novel: both a bit stubborn and they don't walk to sit and be straight to each other. Jason in particular, was a tad unpleasant when he . In addition to that, he went postal when Kara told him that she' What did he expect? That she would just transform into a nun and never lay eyes on other people?!
After reading Jennifer Faye's Rancher to the Rescue, which I thoroughly enjoyed, I was really excited when I found out she had written another novel and was looking forward to the opportunity to read it. In Snowbound with the Soldier, Jennifer Faye has delivered another delightful romance. It's been 7 years since Jason Greene walked out of Kara Jameson's life. She thought she was over him, but when he shows up in town right at Christmastime, and at the hotel Kara works at that has just been purchased and is now under new ownership, she suddenly finds all those feelings that she thought were buried, dead and gone, pushing their way right back to the surface as she stares in the face of this dark and mysterious soldier, who comes across as if he were Ebenezer Scrooge himself. What she isn't aware of is that Jason is battling the same demons, or so he thinks that's what they are, especially with the secret from his past that has almost destroyed him and any hope for a future, at least a future that involves a family. Kara has a bit of a suprise herself that Jason is unaware of also. As fate would have it, a snowstorm forces these star-crossed lovers into closer proximity than either of them would like to be in. Now Kara and Jason have to figure out if they are willing to try to put the past behind them, or if their secrets and hurts are too big to overcome.
Snowbound with the Solider is one of those novels that gets you smiling and keeps you smiling. I like to call them feel-good stories. Despite the seriousness of some of the things that have happened to Kara and Jason, Jennifer Faye has delivered a story that will warm your heart and leave you feeling happy with a smile on your face. I really enjoyed getting to know the characters, as well as the secondary characters, and I enjoyed watching Kara and Jason as they began to rekindle their friendship towards something more. Snowbound with the Soldier is one of those novels that is serious enough to make the story interesting, yet light enough where you aren't bombarded by the circumstances and can sit back, relax, and truly enjoy the book. The romantic aspect was wonderful with just the right amount of sizzle. The story line itself was entertaining, as were the characters that Jennifer Faye created. I received a copy of this book from SSLY in place of an honest review.
Kara Jameson finds out that the Lodge that she works has been sold and that everyone will probably lose their jobs and Christmas is still weeks away. She doesn't know how she is going to support her daughter and herself. That is her main concern until a ghost from her past shows up. Jason Greene was engaged to Kara seven years ago until he found something out about his past and he walked away and joined the army.
These two try their best to ignore the feelings that they have for each other. Seems getting snowed in, in Jason's cabin seems to be working to bring them closer than ever. Both have secrets that could cost them a new relationship. All they need to do is trust each other and figure out that they can work out anything as long as they do it together.
I didn't know what I would be reading until I started this book. I just couldn't put it down. I had to find out what their secrets were. Sometimes being a father isn't because you share any DNA. It just takes a special man that can love a child as his and do what is best for them. That is what I loved about this book. It made me believe in Christmas miracles again.
Kira Jameson works at a resort that has just been purchased by an unnamed buyer. With Christmas almost on the horizon, she worries if she will have a job after the new year. The rumor is that the new owner wants to make all sorts of changes.
Jason Greene has a secret that he isn't keen on sharing. Seven years ago, he turned his back on his fiance and his family, joining the military. Now, he's been discharged because of medical reasons, so he returns back home, where he hasn't been in over seven years.
Kira is shocked when she realizes that Jason is her new boss, the new owner. She also realizes that Jason isn't the same person he was all of those years ago, he's much angrier. But when a chance snowstorm traps the two of them together, will they be able to reconnect and rekindle some of those feelings from all of those years ago? Will Kira be the healing balm Jason needs to move forward in is life?
