Entertaining vignettes. It is fascinating to see a soldier eye view of how ill prepared the USA was under Woodrow Wilson and how the military even back in 1918 had the gap between higher command and the soldiers
Wonderful memoir by Theodore Roosevelt Jr. about his time as a Major of volunteer soldiers during the first world war. Roosevelt writes with warm regards of all the soldiers he served with and gives honorable regards to those who died in the service.
