Lynn the Fox has been a Kazak for several years and thought she had seen it all; after all, she's a Master Kazak having killed more than five Assassins—professional killers with wizard-like talents. But life is unpredictable and the unimaginable is about to happen.
I was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, and joined the military right out of high school. I served twenty-two years in the United States Air Force as a certified internal auditor. While in the military service, I lived in seven states and two foreign countries, and obtained two degrees: a BS in mathematics and an MS in computer science.
After I retired from the Air Force, I secured a position with Digital Equipment Corporation, located in Bedford, Massachusetts, as a software course developer and instructor. I worked twenty-two years at DEC and held positions as a course developer, course development manager, software engineer, and software engineering manager.
Today, I’m retired and live in Tucson, Arizona, with my wife of fifty-three years. My daughter and two grandchildren live in Maryland. I began writing several years after I retired, when I was seventy. My first two attempts remain in my desk drawer—good ideas, but poorly written. Subsequently, I co-authored, with Jeanne Tomlin, three fantasy novels: Talon of the Raptor Clan, Scales of Justice, and All My Friends Have Wings (young adults). Talon of the Raptor Clan was sold to ePress-online Books and came out in July 2009. Since then I have written two additional novels: The Laughing Hounds (urban fantasy) and The Riss Gamble (science fiction).
My hobbies for the past forty years have been kung fu and tai chi.
Another excellent story and definitely a worthy follow up to the first book, maybe even better. I definitely like the fact that Lynn's adventures are broken up into short stand-alone sections of their own, definitely an unique way of telling the story. It just bothers me that the Kazakh's are not wearing some type of light body armour...
The author writes action sequences well. Unfortunately, the entire plot involves just writing action sequences and stitching them together. Lost count of the grammatical mistakes (there/their). Spellchecker won't catch them; you just have to learn the language. Multiple plot holes. The list goes on. I can't recommend this at all.
Fantastic Sequel to the first book, with many more amusing situations that Lynn has to use her badass skills to navigate. Lots of fun, lots of action and more adventure for a reader needing a fun simple read to enjoy.
C.R Daems is a great fun, entertaining read, this series is similar to SFG and Black Guard but with no Syfi content loved Lynn a great MC. Have now read the next two books will give a full review in book three.
I have just finished the two books in this series and it’s a real pity there aren’t any more to read.
I love Lynn, she is a bit like a female Jack Reacher, but with more attitude. It’s great to have a hero that actually delivers. When Lynn says she’s going to break your leg, she breaks your leg. If someone needs killing, they die, no messing around.
The book doesn’t really have a continuous storyline, except for the relationship between Lynn and Clare, it is actually a series of incidents relating Lynn’s different jobs as a guardian. This doesn’t detract from the novel and makes ideal light reading.
Should another book appear in the series I would definitely buy it.
