My rating is 3.6 stars.

I appreciated that the characters continued to develop, albeit slowly, and the introduction of a new character poised to be the focus of the next romance. However, the story's premise felt lackluster to me, merely another genre cliché. There were no changes in the setting, nor any deeper exploration of it.

As the latest addition to Atticus Maxwell’s winery team, Kelly is thankful for the job opportunity and thrilled to work alongside her best friend Lissa. Marc LaTour's relentless flirtation is the last thing she needs, yet she finds herself inexplicably drawn to the enigmatic, disconcerting Master vampire. Marc, having searched for six centuries, has come to terms with the likelihood of never finding his destined partner. Kelly, being under the protection of Atticus and Lissa, is ostensibly off-limits, but Marc's yearning to claim her overpowers his restraint. Their mutual curiosity sparks a passion, leading to the astonishing revelation that they might be fated companions. However, their potential happiness is overshadowed by a looming threat. A rival vampire has issued a leadership challenge to Marc, a duel to the death. Surviving the ordeal could taint any chance of a shared future, yet if they overcome this ultimate trial, they may discover an everlasting love.

I found the narrative enjoyable, though it felt somewhat skeletal and straightforward. The synopsis was enticing, suggesting a richness that the story itself did not deliver. My favorable rating stems from my ability to grasp the essence of the tale and my fondness for the characters. The confrontation was the narrative's low point for me, deviating from my expectations and concluding all too swiftly.

This book was a hot mess. It didn't make a lot of sense. Part of the reason was there wasn't much of a plot. Another reason was the writing. It didn't flow.

I couldn't get engrossed in the story cause there was a lot of telling but not showing. For example, Marc had to fight Gibson and the fight took two maybe three paragraphs which comprise of: They talk, they mention Gibson is a cheater and will most likely cheat and that silver is harmful to vampires. They fight, Marc wins and Gibson cheats by using silver.

I really didn't need that info about Gibson being an ass before the fight. By cheating, he's already an ass. However the whole book was like that where something was mentioned then Marc would do it. It got really confusing, especially when Marc and Kelly finally had sex. Like wait a minute wasn't she just, but now she's what. Like huh? I don't know about you but when I get confused about what is happening during a sex scene, there is definitely something wrong.

Overall, I was disappointed cause after Atticus' book I was expecting Marc to suspect Kelly was his One and to spend most of this book courting her. That didn't really happen.

The actions of the female main character are not very logical; too big of a swing from not wanting to have anything to do with the main male character to immediately having sex with both him and someone else she hardly knows.
Too short, too illogical, no real character development, plot doesn't make sense.
I get the feeling from these kinds of books that during reading IQ points must be leaking out of my ears.

It just keeps getting better

Another magical story full of vampires and magic. One story leads the reader to the next but each has a happy ending.

Just as I said with One and Only, the first book, this was a short read. However, unlike the first book, I suffered through it. I was done with it about halfway through and only finished it because it was short and I felt that I needed to get to the end in case there was something there to redeem this series for me. Sadly, I didn't find this elusive redemption.

Same as One and Only, I think that if you read the synopsis above, you can just skip the book, unless you want to read about some vampire sex. For me, because the character and story development was so lacking, I couldn't get into the sexy parts... I didn't really care, because I couldn't feel the connection. They were each others' destined mates and so everything was pretty much instantaneous for them, just like Atticus and Lissa. As soon as they fucked they knew they loved each other and that was that. No struggle or anticipation. And, honestly, the lovey parts read like this to me: he was all like "I love you!" and she was all like "I love you!" and he was all like "I love you more!" and she was all like "I love YOU more!" And I was all like "shut up and FUCK her already! Preferably in the ass." Nothing says "I love you" like some ass sex. Sadly, there was no ass sex. There were promises for dark delights that Marc was going to initiate Kelly into, but aside from a light slap on her ass nothing really outlandish happened.

Okay, I have nothing against people proclaiming their undying love for each other. I really don't. I just wanted to experience their love, not be told about it. That's why we read these books - we want to feel something and aside from some mild irritation I can't say I felt much. I wished for some more struggle, more action, more passion ... just more.

Let's talk action. This is where I ask, what action?? There was supposed to be this big challenge with a rival, but again, if you read the synopsis then you read the details of the challenge and the fight. It was completely glossed over. I was disappointed. Which is pretty much how I felt about the whole story.

Kelly - human friend to vampire couple, working in their vineyard... best friend to Lissa (recently turned) and her husband Atticus (long time vampire, and long time friend of Marc); Marc LaTour, Master Vampire - staying with Atticus during his home remodeling, and is fascinated by Kelly - who keeps him at arm's length... but they get to be friends, he comes to her in her dreams... and they decide to give into their attraction - to set it once and for all if they are lifemates (he feels it is so, but not sure why so close in time to Atticus finding his lifemate)... they have sex... they are lifemates.. he is willing to let her remain human, and will die when she does...

but he is challenged by a young vampire - he defeats him easily, but the kid scratches him with silver/silver powder... he is dying when Kelly finds him... Atticus says get him into a wine vat... and when he emerges, he will be hungry for blood, and more animal than human... and Kelly is there when he emerges... she allows him to mindlessly feed, willing to sacrifice herself... and he comes back to himself just as she is dying... and he gives her his blood - unwilling to live without her... and when she wakes up changed, she is happy to be alive and to be with him... ahhhh

4.5 STARS Rare Vintage

Kelly accepted a job to work as a personal Assistant for her best friend Lissa and Lissa's new husband Atticus. When the lease was up on her apartment it was decided that she would move into their estate with them to more freely see over the work required.

Marc LaTour has seen much in his centuries on this earth. Master Vampire to his region he sets the rules and ensures they are obeyed by all who choose to live in his territory.

Marc moves in with Atticus his long time friend and fellow vampire while his house is being renovated. What Marcus doesn't expect is the pull he has to Kelly. Something about her calls to him and no matter how he tries he is unable to resist being near her. Resolved and prepared to give everything up including his territory Marc will receive some news that will have him more determined than ever to stay in control because if he fails in his duties it may cost him Kelly's life.

I really enjoyed Marc & Kelly's story it pulled you in and held you captivated throughout the entire book.

Kelly was Lissa's best friend. When she needed a new job, Lissa and Atticus hired her to become the liason with the winery. She gets to live in the most unbelieveable home doing a job she loves while spending time with her best friend. Everything was perfect...well except her friend was a vampire and she had Marc threatening her personal space at any given time. Marc was the sexy Master vampire of the region. Consumed with thoughts of Kelly, Marc tried to get Kelly to admit her attraction. Kelly of course was not admitting anything, she wanted him gone.

This book was much better than the first one. Kelly was a stronger character who spoke her feelings and didn't make things too easy for Marc. Of course there was no use in denying it, Kelly craved Marc. Again this book was more porn than plot with some very hot scenes, one that included a little menage.

I had one minor thing that annoyed me, but it was way down to the end in the last sex scene. The heroine is thinking about how much she loves the hero and andthey are linked by mind so he says prove it to him by going down on him. I understand it's not to be taken seriously. It's just something sexy a couple would say to each other in the moment.

Still it came out like a pretty dick comment and one a real guy would make, and I don't want to think about the real disappointments of this world when I'm reading romance.

Any way it was way down to the end as I said so it doesn't hinder me from giving a five star because as the previous in this series, it was really sweet and the hero was protective and caring, the way I think all heros in romance novels should be.

On to the next ♡♡

well I tried hard to give this its best chance I really did but it was just as bad as the first so I didn't even bother to finish. these are not healthy relationships people...men shouldn't "share" their women because its the womans decision whether to participate or not that implies he has a possessory interest her and women are people not property. and she's no better "oh normally I don't like being talked about as an object but hey if he's hot..." (ok that last part is made up but still) and she's just la la la la la let's have a threesome because he wants it oh and ps I love you even though we don't actually really know each other. suck fest and I won't abide...my advice? skip it!

This one wasn't as annoyingly bad as the first one. Less soap opera like. Less action though. And meh... like I said, it wasn't as bad as the first one, but it wasn't great. Only reason I read it was because it was so short.

Also, dear gods I hate it when the author uses the title OVER AND OVER AGAIN. This one didn't feel as annoying as 'One and Only', but the amount of times he called her a 'Rare Vintage' just got annoying.

And it's Dmitri's story next, I'm sure. Don't know if I'll bother other than it'll be another quickie to have as a 'I need something to last me a single bus ride home' type read.

This is the story of Marc and Kelly, which are introduced on the first book. Their development from one another is much longer from the first, but satisfying nonetheless. I like the fact that Kelly didn't just fall on her knees automatically to Marc, unlike on Lissa. Well, the vampires wouldn't know that the women is their One if they didn't have sex with them, so the soppy stuff didn't happen after that. The fight between Marc and Gaston? is lacking, I would wish that there are more scenes to describe it than slash-dead scenario. This is an entertaining and enjoyable read.

Kelly's life is in danger and she is surrounded by hunky vampires. Even in her dreams. She dreams about Marc and... didn't want to give that away. Seriously though, despite the constant stress of trying to find where the danger lies this novella is filled with blood pumping, flaming hot sex, right up to the end.

I've read the Brotherhood of Blood series out of complete order, but enjoyed all of them except this one. The hero, Marc in this one really didn't intrigue me and he went from being a good character to an arse of a character for a while throughout the first quarter of the book. Marc is an old vampire and I tried to get my head round him but I couldn't. I just couldn't warm up to him at all.

Book 2 Mark is the master vampire of the region with a strong attraction to Kelly (Lissa from book 1's friend and employee). The two are attracted yet fearful of getting involved. After a threat appears it brings their feeling to the forefront and fate intervenes to make it eternal. Another short but satisfying book to continue the series

This book was okay, seemed sporadic in spots, with lots of description in unnecessary places and sparingly in areas that would have been better with a little more embellishment. But a quick light read nonetheless.

My favorite part, as a true "wino" myself, is when Marc is tossed into a giant vat of red wine in order to counteract the poisonous silver that is killing him.
