Unlike some reviewers, I'm not complaining that this doesn't have every minor character to hit the screen for one episode or second-guessing why some characters were included and others weren't. It was written for kids. I just like having a book to grab while rewatching the show and wondering "who is that person again?" without having to get on my phone and go to Wookieepedia.

So far, my least favorite Star Wars visual-type books.
"It was okay." - 2 out of 5 star rating for this The Clone Wars (TWC) Visual Guide, with The Phantom Menace (TPM) and Attack of the Clones (AotC) Visual Dictionary's being hard 5/5's.
What makes this 'okay at best' I think comes mostly with expectations established from the previous Visual Dictionary deliveries, which this is severely lacking in. For TPM and AotC, these books cover amazing deep dives on the smallest intricacies within Star Wars, such as what in inside the pouches of Obi-Wan Kenobi's utility belt, vivid descriptions of Padme Amidala's dress attire and what they represent culturally, an in-depth look at Anakin's robotic hand, and even the wonderful previously untold story of the props/movie making magic behind the scenes.
This is what made TPM/AotC Visual Dictionary's so much fun to read.
This is not what you get here.
This is more of a graphic novel for children about TCW, where one battle of one particular episode will be delivered in almost comic book form, numbering the sequences of events 1-5 and giving a quick bottom line up front outcome of what took place in the show. Again, very much geared towards children, where an entire page is covered with imagery, with maybe 20 words at best on a lot of pages.
Thankfully for me, I have young children at the time of this review (4 and 2), so this book will get plenty of use over time, especially as my kids have a couple more birthdays and eventually (interest permitting) they get into TCW and we can go through these pages before bed time.
With all that said, if you dipped your toes into the Visual Dictionary waters of TPM/AotC (unsure about others)... and you came here looking for more of the same for TCW... this is not the book are you are looking for.
Finally, I was going to give this a 3 out of 5... but the lack of Maul coverage in this book is criminal. He is absolutely one of my all time favorite characters and that is primarily large in part to what TCW brings to the table for his character. He also played a massive role throughout numerous seasons of TCW and he was essentially the grand finale of all seven (7) seasons at the very end.
To not have at least 5% of this book, aka roughly ~7 pages dedicated to Maul? Yep... you are getting 2 stars.

This is a fun visual book for fans of the Star Wars the Clone Wars. Exciting pictures next to just enough information to be interesting although not always easily readable! Nice layouts and attractive pictures for the interested reader or non-reader.

Asher (6yo) pours over this book. He loves all the pictures and all the little captions that go along with the droids and characters.

Quick cute little guide.

There wasn’t anything at all wrong with this book, I just wanted more!! I love that they made a guide for the TV show and I am addicted to the show, watching session four right now. I just wish each page was filled with info. Learning more about Star Wars canon and how and why things are related has been interesting as a fun thing for the kids and I to do together.
