Reunion Revelations #1

Hidden in the Wall

Rate this book
A young woman's skeleton was found buried on the campus grounds. Contractor Trevor Whittaker couldn't get the cold-case murder out of his mind. Who was the woman? Why was she killed? And did his lovely boss's father, a wealthy, secretive benefactor of the college, have anything to do with it?

Family and friends warned Alumni Director Stephanie Kessler to stay away from her new employee. They said Trevor was still the same bad boy he'd been ten years ago, but Stephanie wasn't the same mousy girl. So, this time, they both had something to prove.

Valerie Hansen is the pen name of Valerie Whisenand.

Librarian Note: There is more than one author in the GoodReads database with this name. See this thread for more information.

Although I have been a published author since the mid 1980s, I have been writing women's Christian fiction almost exclusively since 1999.

There is a longer, more detailed bio on my website so there's no need for me to repeat all that here. Right now, I write for all three Love Inspired lines, Romance, Suspense and Historical. I'm delighted to have been included that broadly and besides, it keeps me so busy that I stay out of trouble. Well, mostly.

You'll find me on the LI Historical blog as well as other LI features. If I try to do much more I won't have time to write my books!

Reunion Revelations
Book 1

This is the first is a six book, multi-author series. To make sense, this series must be read in order.

The book opens with a hint to something that happens later on, then goes two months back to a college reunion that Stephanie Kessler attends. Stef comes from a family with lots of money and doesn't have to work at the college - she wants to. She hires her ex-roommate's brother, Trevor Whittaker, to build a built-in bookshelf in her office. To do that, he has to knock out part of the wall. When he does, they make a discovery.

The suspense is pretty light in this book. I think the author concentrated on developing the mystery. There were a couple of suspenseful scenes, but they easily resolved. This is very, very mild on the suspense compared to most LIS books.

The romance was sweet. I liked how the author wrote about them growing closer and falling for each other without all the drama. I was very pleased.

The book ends with a lot of questions. I suspect I know who both people are, but we won't know for sure until the end of book six!

ok, we're FINALLY back into some meaty mysteries!

for those of you who like romance books, but don't want them to be overly mushy, or to be the sole content of the books, this series, "Reunion Revelations", is a good one to read. contains a total of 6 books, each one written by a different author. each book also centers on a different main character, altho all the others are still in them. will be interesting to see not only how 6 different writers can keep a story line going w/ any breaks in the flow, but if they can stretch out the solving of one mystery that far. i didn't think it could be done, but i've recently read one other series same way (many books, each written by someone else), where it was carried off VERY well, so ...

anyway, this one is the first of the six books, and definitely has caught my interest! so far, the person i thought was "whodunit" has changed twice!

This is the first in the Reunion Revelations series which means the author has to prepare the reader for the characters and plot situation in it. I enjoyed watching Steff and Trevor try to figure out who was following them and why. Hidden in the Wall is a good start to a series concerning the discovery of a woman's body underneath the sidewalk on a college campus

#1 Reunion Revelations

Murder & Mayhem at Magnolia College!

Whose body is it that has been discovered buried in the grounds? It's been there for about 10 years ~ from about the time Steff and her friends graduated from the college!

Is it someone they knew?

Did they know the murderer?

Is the murderer still about?

And is it all linked to that strange bit of wood Steff and Trevor found in her office when Trevor builds new bookcases in Steff's office? The one that has an initial on it ~ is it written in blood?

A nice start to the Reunion Revelations Continuity.

#1 Hidden in the Wall (Reunion Revelations, Book 1) (Love Inspired Suspense #84) by Valerie Hansen #2 Missing Persons (Reunion Revelations, Book 2) (Steeple Hill Love Inspired Suspense #88) by Shirlee McCoy #3 Don't Look Back (Reunion Revelations, #3) by Margaret Daley
#4 In His Sights (Reunion Revelations, Book 4) (Steeple Hill Love Inspired Suspense #96) by Carol Steward #5 A Face in the Shadows (Reunion Revelations, #5) by Lenora Worth #6 Final Justice (Reunion Revelations #6) by Marta Perry

You really do need to read these books in order as each book, while a story on its own, also has a plot which runs & develops through all the 6 books, building up to the grand finale in book 6. This means that you will not only want to read this book, but also the following 5 in the series! So if you are looking for a one off story to read, then this is not the book for you. However, if you are short of reading material & want a series to get you going, then you might want to try out this series.

Not knowing it was part of a series, I read Book 2 before this one; so, many "clues" to the underlying mystery of this series seemed much more obvious to me than they probably would have if I had read this book first.

I like a good mystery and I enjoy romantic suspense, too. This author wrote an entertaining romance between her lead characters but I was a little disappointed in the characters. They came across, to me, as still being like college students, or merely a year or two out from college, lacking the added maturity I would expect to discover in adults who have experienced ten years of life since their college days.

This is the first in this series. It was good suspense and well written. Worth reading if you like their mystery books.
