2.5 rounded up. I hope the remaining books in the series revolve around something besides danger. It’s a bit unrealistic that all seven of the women would have these massive dangerous things going on in their lives. The whole “I can’t marry him because I need to make sure God is number 1 in my life” was a bit too drawn out and then ended so abruptly. The author would write something in this format : “Nonetheless, he reeled with confusion. Confusion and doubts. Doubts and disillusionment” and used that format All. The. Time. It was okay the first time or two but by the end of the book it was like nails on a chalkboard. I hope it’s missing from the next books.
It was very slow moving. I liked the spiritual component, but the writing just didn’t grip me, and make me want to read more. I finished it only because I was determined.
Sonsee struggles with her growing feelings of love for her life-long friend, Taylor, because he cannot allow himself to love her. The story is not only a romance, but also a tale of suspense that leaves the reader hanging on every word, not knowing who done it until the very end. God's redeeming love is shown as both Sonsee and Taylor comes to terms with their faith and the misconceptions about it that threaten to keep them apart.
