Imagine, you are lounging on your couch, sipping coffee, and suddenly from nowhere a naked corpse of a woman appears in front of you. You get rid of the corpse somehow, without informing the police, but a few days later, you meet the same woman, alive and thriving.
This is exactly what happens to Rehan.
There is a serial killer on the loose with the means to dump his victims across time and space. Rehan makes saving the woman and catching the killer his mission. What's more, the police have an inkling that he is involved in the case somehow.
All Rehan needs to do is make the right decisions and tread carefully. The stakes are high, however, time too less. The past, future, and present are all connected. The only question is whether you can change it.
Will Rehan be able to save the woman and catch the killer? Will he sail through all the obstacles? Will he succeed in changing the future, thereby changing his past?
Abhaidev is the pen name of Mayank Chandna, author of more than a dozen books, namely, The Influencer: Speed Must Have a Limit, The Gods Are Not Dead, 13 Minutes Before Midnight, The Meaninglessness of Meaning, Anant, etc. After working for a while in an investment bank, he took the plunge and quit that boring job of his to venture into the exciting world of writing, something he always wanted to do.
His penchant for continental philosophy and craze for progressive house and indie music has nettled his simple parents. He is an avid reader and devours classics and science books. Like most people with a DSLR, he loves flaunting his non-existent photography skills on social media platforms.
Abhaidev loves challenging his limits and believes that there is nothing nobler in this world than possessing an intense desire to learn. He seeks transcendence in the practice of art and hopes to pen down stories which are not run-of-the-mill.
Another murder mystery down. Here is a story of a serial killer, time travel and romance. The story moves around Rehan trying to save a girl. The book is full of si-fi elements and explanations. The story drops subtle hints about the end throughout and that makes the book interesting. Imagine, you are lounging on your couch, sipping coffee, and suddenly from nowhere a naked corpse of a woman appears in front of you. You get rid of the corpse somehow, without informing the police, but a few days later, you meet the same woman, alive and thriving. As like usual time travel stories, this book also leaves certain things as unexplained at the end. This book is definitely a page turner. You can not resist the story once you start reading it and that is why it is a quick read. Written in a simple, understandable language, this book picks up the pace fast. The scenes are not overstreched but there were certain elements which I felt were unnecessary for the story and the story could do without them. I felt the story connects to the title only at the end. Overall I liked the story which is devoid of repeatations and engages the reader. The cover depicts a lot of things and is designed beautifully. This book was quite different from authors previous book I read - Gods are still alive which was a sort of fantasy fiction. Good to see different styles the author is exploring. I felt this is more of his style. A go to read, if you are a beginner - do give it a try.
The book starts with a shocking incident, as Rehan, our MMC is having an evening tea, but suddenly there's a girl's corpse appears out of nowhere in front of him. The girl has been tortured brutally and then killed. But he knows no one will believe him that the corpse appear out of nowhere, so he decides to hide it himself. But after this many weird things starts to happen with him, he starts to hear a woman's crackle, his reflection in mirror is not synchronized with him one time and many more.
When he's facing all these, suddenly he meets the dead girl, alive, works in the same building, in the same floor with him. And Rehan finally decides to solve this puzzle himself.
The book is very intriguing and also confusing. But this 230 pages of book has perfect amount of mystery, suspense woven in sci-fi setting, as well as romance.
The writing is smooth, the plot with serial killer, murder mystery, time travel Rehan's fight to uncover the truth, the mystery, grips me till the end. There's also some conversations about life and existence, etc makes you think deeply too. The book is overall very fast paced and engaging ,I finish it in two sittings.
So definitely a book I would recommend if you love sci-fi with murder mystery.
Abhaidev’s 13 Minutes Before Midnight is a heart-pounding thriller that grips readers from the outset. Rehan, an ordinary man, finds his world irrevocably altered when a lifeless body finds its way in his living room. This absurd and irrational event propels him into a dangerous quest to unravel a mystery shrouded in darkness.

He uses every possibility at hand and indulges in hacking, stalking, following and even killing, his curiosity even leads him to fake his love. The author masterfully constructs a narrative that blends elements of suspense, mystery, and the supernatural, creating a chilling atmosphere that lingers long after the final page.
The story keeps readers on the edge of their seats as Rehan races against time to save his girlfriend and fights against the past to catch the culprits.
13 Minutes Before Midnight is more than just a thriller; it’s a thought-provoking exploration of fate, destiny, and the blurred lines between the present and the past.
As a student of third year English literature, I really liked the intricate plot and thoughtful exploration of the concepts of motion time and space which made me believe in time travel. The book's unexpected ending and the skillful blend of thriller and science fiction makes it a must read for sci-fi fans.
Intriguing story about murder in a time travel premise. Was a short book and could keep me hooked. However, it lacked depth and ingenuity and the author could’ve explored these topics even more. There could have been so many perspectives and angles that would’ve made this even more interesting. Can be skipped.
13 Minutes Before Midnights stands as Abhaidev’s sixth work of fiction. The author’s zeal for science fiction and existential philosophy reflects through this novel. Rehan was lying on his couch, sipping coffee when a desecrated naked corpse of a woman unknown to him appears out of thin air. Shocked by this, he inspects her body curiously only to find that she has been raped. Understanding that approaching police will be a futile exercise, he cuts her body into several pieces and throws her carcass in a nearby pond. Soon, Rehan experiences a vivid hallucinations of an evil woman cackling, his bed shaking wildly and such. He becomes haunted with the image of this unknown woman who he had cut into pieces. A few days later, he discovers that the same woman, which now has a name, Shanaya, has joined his office and is now his colleague. The novel follows Rehan’s journey of being a saviour to Shanaya and how this journey changes his life.
Abhaidev does an impressive job in fleshing out Rehan’s suffering as he anxiously strives to save Shanaya from her terrible fate. He wonders the causal principle behind the events that have occurred and asks the question to himself, and in turn the reader: Does anything mean anything at all? The book also delves into moral aspect of being a good Samaritan. Plight of Rehan begins when he tries to save Shanaya from her death , a fate certain to all humans and in doing so, gets consumed in a storm which he could not escape.
The novel utilizes literary devices in science fiction such as time travel and space-time continuum for facilitation and furtherance of the plot. The novel makes a vain attempt to explain the mechanics behind the time travel but the effort does not end at a decisive note leaving the reader puzzled about how the travel across space and time actually works. The novel deals with theme of existentialism and how man’s search for meaning rarely leads to fruition. Rehan, along with us, tries to make sense of it all. Why did Shanaya’s corpse appear in his room alone? What was this sick criminal’s intent behind raping Shanaya? He looks at these events imbued with some meaning unknown to him. However, the climax reveals us that the time gun has an anomaly and opens a portal in space time randomly We witness author’s knack in intriguing his audience with puzzling mysteries such as : What was the identity of this secret killer? Why did Shanaya’s corpse appear in his room alone? What was this sick criminal’s intent behind raping Shanaya? From a reader’s POV, answering the first two questions is rather child’s play. The chapter where Aarav is introduced in the novel,he suggests that the culprit could be working closely with the police force. A serial killer sick enough to commit such heinous crimes would certainly find acts such as giving clues to the investing police officers amusing. Moreover, Aarav was working in forensic department on two different murders related to the same case. Thus, he had multiple ways to monitor the progress of police investigation and be one step ahead of them.
Trauma and sexual deviancy also plays out as a central theme in the story. Shanaya’s entry in Rehan’s life serves as a grave incident which incites trauma in his ordinary life. Similarly, Shanaya too suffers from severe depression and has been on medication for the last two years. It has been indicated that her ex-boyfriends kinks of BDSM triggered this depression. Additionally, it also explores how childhood trauma can be exacerbated into deviant sexual fantasies. For instance, the mother of the killer duo leaves their father for another woman which triggers their father’s descent into madness. This bitter experience in childhood festers into harbouring deviant hatred for the bisexual women and rough sexual fantasies. Similarly, childhood trauma of Vivek Karmakar makes him reluctant of raising a child.
This book serves to be a breath of fresh air as this is quite a delightful read in it’s entirety and opens into possibility of an Indian author treading his path in science fiction genre. A path most exciting and least explored!

There are thrillers that entertain you, and then there are thrillers that grab you by the collar and refuse to let go until the very last page. Abhaidev’s 13 Minutes Before Midnight firmly belongs in the second category. The title alone teases urgency and mystery, but what truly makes this book stand out is how effortlessly it blends suspense, sci-fi, and philosophical undertones into one addictive read.
Abhaidev—pen name of Mayank Chandna—has previously given us thought-provoking works like The Influencer and The Gods Are Not Dead. Known for breaking genre boundaries, he brings that same fearless storytelling approach here, creating a narrative that’s as mind-bending as it is thrilling.
Rehan Ahuja’s life changes in a way no one could imagine. One evening, while relaxing at home, the corpse of a naked woman inexplicably appears in his living room. Shocked and terrified, he chooses to dispose of the body himself. But the real nightmare begins when he meets the same woman alive days later.
From there, the story plunges into a gripping chase involving a serial killer who seems to wield control over time and space. Rehan must navigate impossible choices while being hunted by both the killer and the police. With time slipping through his fingers, he races to save the woman, stop the murderer, and—perhaps—rewrite his own destiny.
Abhaidev’s writing is sharp, cinematic, and perfectly suited for a fast-paced thriller. He uses short, punchy chapters that end with hooks so compelling you’ll keep telling yourself, “Just one more.” His language is clear and accessible, but there’s a quiet intelligence in his prose that elevates it above a typical page-turner. The way he weaves sci-fi elements into the mystery without overwhelming the story is particularly impressive.
Rehan isn’t a conventional hero. He’s flawed, conflicted, and at times, painfully human. His mistakes make him relatable, and his determination keeps you rooting for him. Vivek Karamkar, a supporting character, adds an extra layer of intrigue and realism to the story.
Beyond its characters, the book’s central idea—how time connects the past, present, and future—feels refreshingly original. Abhaidev doesn’t just use time travel as a gimmick; he explores how it impacts morality, choice, and consequence.
The structure is tight and relentless. The story begins with a bang, and the pace never lets up. Twists are carefully placed, and the eventual revelation of the title’s meaning lands perfectly. Each chapter feels purposeful, drawing readers deeper into the web of suspense.
At its core, the book asks a haunting question: Can we change our destiny, or are we prisoners of time? This theme resonates far beyond the sci-fi element, tapping into real-world fears about regret and second chances. There’s also an underlying commentary on how our choices—big or small—can ripple across our lives in unexpected ways.
This isn’t just a thriller; it’s an experience. I found myself anxious for Rehan, frustrated by his decisions, and at times, completely stunned by the twists. That emotional rollercoaster is what makes the book linger in your mind long after you’ve finished.
The seamless blend of genres, gripping narrative hooks, and Rehan’s character development stand out as major strengths. The time-bending concept is executed with precision, keeping the suspense alive without losing its emotional core.
Some side characters could have used more depth, and seasoned thriller readers might predict a few twists. But these are minor quibbles in an otherwise captivating read.
What I loved most was how the book never let me breathe. Every chapter demanded my attention, and I found myself reading late into the night. If you love thrillers that keep you thinking, this one will hit the mark.
13 Minutes Before Midnight is a thrilling, genre-bending page-turner that blends suspense and sci-fi with remarkable finesse. Abhaidev has crafted a story that’s as thought-provoking as it is addictive.
Quote from book Rehan approached the dead woman and squatted beside her. Her head was turned to the side, locks of hair covering her cheek. Summoning all his courage, Rehan pulled her hair aside. It was a common face, one with no distinct qualities. But it bore an expression of pain and horror, which he had never seen in his life. God only knew what the woman had gone through. He touched her hand. It was cool, but not yet cold. He then dipped his index finger into the pool of blood. It had thickened, but it was still wet, which meant that it hadn’t been long since the woman had breathed her last. Yes, she had died recently, and somehow, her body had been teleported to his flat just after her death.
Jaws dropping! Right ? Let’s find out who is the brutal killer and solve the mystery along with Rehan….

Book : 13 Minutes Before Midnight Author : Abhaidev
Well There's something about Abhaidev’s novel you just can't keep calm unless you finish it. Is it because of beautiful writing style, or proper handling of emotions, or detailed characters or something else, I don't know. But it is intriguing for sure. This story was almost like watching a movie. Every scene was running inside my mind. The author's writing skill was the obvious reason behind this.
We all are very much familiar to the popular line,"The first impression is the last impression"- the cover page. It gives me the true feelings of the line. The cover page is very much attractive and eye pleasing and the title gives you a hint about the summery of the book. 13 Minutes before Midnight is an excellent sci-fi thriller with a unique setting and some brilliant narration.
13 minutes before Midnight is the story of Rehan. One fine day, when he is sipping his coffee, from nowhere a naked corpse of a woman lands in front of him. He gets rid of the body somehow but a few days later, you meet the same woman, alive. Soon he realises that there is a serial killer on the loose with the means to dump his victims across time and space. Rehan takes it upon himself to clear his name and catch the killer. Will he be able to catch the killer in a race against time?
As a sci-fi thriller, 13 minutes before Midnight combines the best of both genres. Not only does it have the mystery of a serial killer on the loose but it also has a sci-fi element as a key ingredient. The story is intense right from the start and keeps you hooked right to the end. The plot is one of the most unique plots I have read and it was really amazing how it kept on getting engaging with every chapter. The story has some unique twists that keep on coming one after another. The story is fast-paced and focused on the mystery till the end.
What is loved about the book is that both the mystery and sci-fi elements get equal weightage. So the story explains the scientific part of it and makes the reader think while the murder mystery keeps the readers guessing. The idea of a serial killer killing individuals and disposing of them in various timelines is unique and the book discusses at length the scientific aspect of it including if the future can be changed. At the same time, the sci-fi elements work to advance the mystery further.
Overall, this book is a perfect fusion of a thriller and science fiction. It has a unique plot, amazing narration, and some interesting characters. If you love a good sci-fi thriller, you will enjoy the book.
The story revolves around Rehan, embarking on a mission to save a girl entangled in a web of danger and uncertainty. From the outset, the book immerses readers in a world brimming with sci-fi elements and intricate explanations, enticing their curiosity and keeping them engaged until the very end."
With an adrenaline-fueled urgency, you dispose of the body discreetly, choosing not to involve the police. Yet, to your astonishment, a few days later, you encounter the same woman alive and flourishing."
"As expected from time travel narratives, certain aspects are intentionally left unexplained, leaving room for contemplation and intrigue. This book, undoubtedly a page-turner, possesses an irresistible quality that latches onto readers, compelling them to devour its pages in swift succession. The author's use of simple and accessible language ensures a smooth reading experience, with the story promptly gaining momentum." "While the scenes are skillfully crafted to avoid unnecessary stretches, there are instances where certain elements felt superfluous, potentially detracting from the overall plot's cohesion. The connection to the title becomes apparent only towards the end, adding an element of anticipation and satisfying the reader's curiosity. Overall, the story is refreshingly devoid of repetition, expertly engaging readers throughout."
"In conclusion, this book serves as an excellent go-to read, particularly for those new to the genre. It offers a captivating blend of murder mystery, time travel, and romance, leaving readers wanting more. Dive into this thrilling tale, and let the author's storytelling prowess transport you into a world where the boundaries of possibility are delightfully blurred.
What if the dead could walk back into your life? What if time itself was both your enemy and your only hope?
This book takes these impossible questions and spins them into a thriller so tense, you can almost hear the seconds slipping away.
I have read the author’s previously written books, and the author once again proves mastery in bending genres, merging suspense, sci-fi, and philosophical depth into a single addictive read. Known for titles like The Influencer and The Gods Are Not Dead, the author brings the same bold storytelling to this novel, but with an even sharper edge.
The story follows Rehan Ahuja, whose ordinary life is shattered when the naked body of a woman mysteriously appears in his living room. Before he can make sense of it, he encounters the same woman, alive, days later. What begins as a baffling mystery escalates into a deadly race against a serial killer who seems to wield control over time itself.
The author’s writing is crisp and cinematic, with short, hook-laden chapters that keep you promising “just one more.” Rehan is no perfect hero; he’s flawed, hesitant, and painfully human, making his journey all the more gripping. Supporting characters, especially Vivek Karamkar, add intrigue and texture to the narrative.
What elevates this thriller is how time manipulation isn’t just a gimmick; it’s woven into the very fabric of the plot, raising deeper questions about fate, morality, and second chances. Twists land at exactly the right moments, and the relentless pacing leaves little room to breathe.
This book isn’t just read; it’s an experience. A must for anyone who craves a thriller that keeps both the heart and mind racing until the final page.
"13 Minutes Before Midnight" is a thrilling page-turner by Abhaidev that weaves together elements of serial killers, time travel, and romance. The story follows Rehan as he tries to unravel a puzzling mystery that involves a dead woman who suddenly appears alive and thriving.
The author's writing is smooth and easy to understand, and the plot moves quickly. The story drops subtle hints about the end throughout, making it an interesting read. The sci-fi elements and explanations are woven seamlessly into the plot, and the scenes are not over-stretched.
The book is a quick read that keeps the reader engaged till the end. The cover is beautifully designed and depicts the essence of the story. The author has explored a different style in this book, which is quite different from his previous work.
The concept of the book is unique, engaging, and interesting. The writing style is fast-paced and engaging, and the author has a command over the plot. The book not only keeps you hooked till the last page but also forces you towards deep thinking.
However, there were certain elements that felt unnecessary for the story, and the story connects to the title only at the end. Despite these minor flaws, the book is a great read, and I would highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys a thrilling murder mystery with a touch of sci-fi and romance.
In conclusion, "13 Minutes Before Midnight" is an excellent story that grips the reader till the end with its intriguing plot, suspense, and mystery. The book is well-written and engaging, making it a perfect choice for anyone who enjoys a good mystery.

The only drawback I found was that some parts of the story were a bit confusing and required more explanation. Overall, I would recommend this book to anyone who loves a good mystery and sci-fi adventure.

He discovers that the past, present, and future are all connected, and that he has the power to change them. This was a great read. I would like to recommend this book to my fellow readers. Reviews. I read this book to give my unbiased and honest review. Must recommend.
🖊️I can honestly say this is the TENSEST, MOST NERVE-BENDING, CREEPIEST horror/dark story I’ve recently read! I chuckled a lot and mostly gave my loudest hysterical scream! Things get out of control and escalate to a new level of shitcraziness! You tell yourself "there's no freaking way it can happen,” but eventually things happen beyond your imagination, and so many jaw-dropping, shocking moments later, you let your screams be so loud! (I don’t recommend you read this book in public places to avoid getting too much unnecessary attention.)
🖊️Rehan is the main character of our story. One evening he is sitting on a recliner in his house drinking coffee when suddenly the dead body of a woman appears in front of his eyes with blood all over the floor. He did not know what to do at that time and tried to hide the dead body without anyone knowing it. And he hid it.What happens after this is the twist in the story.
🖊️I won't say anything more about the plot of this novel, as I definitely recommend going into it knowing as little as possible. I didn't really know what it involved when I started, and I'm so glad.
🖊️It was incredibly well-told with compelling characters, a deep thriller with fear issues and themes explored, as well as toe-curling imagery. This played off all of my childhood fears, and let's be honest, there are things I am still afraid of today, even as an adult.

The whole plot was narrated beautifully. There wasn’t a single boring scene . The flow of the story is so good and keeps you hooked in. The concept and description of the story is done so well. Every other chapter grabbed my attention in some or the other way. They just kept me guessing and guessing and kept me totally engaged with the story. I loved it so much. And as it is written in the book, people don’t read books just to learn the truth. They read it for fun and to escape the world. And this book is has it all in it. It would just have you so hooked up. The character sketch is beautiful. The way a character thinks and reacts to an action is so beautifully written. We could feel every other emotion that the character feels. Definitely left a mark on me. 13 Minutes Before Midnight is murder mystery book written by by ABHAIDEV . This book is the perfect mixture of muder mystery & thriller. I didn't stop myself till i reach to the last page. The book is filled with eccentric and colorful characters, each adding to the absurdity of the story. The story Rotates around the person in particular Rehan, who was partaking in his espresso in his own room. Sadly, he will see a dead lady and dread was running somewhere down in his body after this episode. Some way or another, he disposed of that body without illuminating the police and kept carrying on with his life typically. As some time elapsed, he began disregarding that occurrence.
The book consists of 126 pages and 10 Chapters . A unique way of index is shown by the author. I really enjoyed this insightful book.
