This is an informative book about Yellowstone for children. There are a number of interesting facts, including where Yellowstone National Park got its name--from rhyolite, a yellow rock found in the park. The photos and illustrations are good, too. I'd recommend this for kids, especially if a trip to Yellowstone is being planned.

This was a great introduction for Elementary aged children to learn about Yellowstone. Gave basic information about park location and the 4 things its most famous for: Geothermal features, wildlife, wilderness and history. Older elementary students or early readers can read it themselves, but all young explorers should enjoy this intro to one of our nation's greatest parks.

I am a sucker for books about Yellowstone, and I enjoyed the photographs, as well as the facts and figures, in this children's book about our first national park. One of the new things I learned in this one is that, as of publication, there were more elk in Yellowstone than anywhere else.
