Terrific, tender poems that though they claim to draw only from Judeo-Christian teachings, are surprisingly inclusive of many spiritual traditions. The illustrations are also beautiful, in a haunting, etheral way appropriate for the subject matter.

There were not a lot of stand out poems in this book, although I did enjoy the one about the matchmaker, and the fact that there was an entire poem about a puffball mushroom! There are a couple Christmas poems that were alright too.

I just could not get into this book. I did not particularly like the S Saelig Gallagher illustrations. It could have been me today. Maybe I should give this book another chance in the future.

This is a beautiful collection of poetry.. Some are calming and some are whimsical . I find myself going back to this collection if I need and rereading over and over, Especially at night before bed.
