Anna Claybourne writes children's information books on all kinds of topics: science experiments, ancient history, the human body, things to make, the environment, robots, evolution, art, fashion, Shakespeare and many more - as well as retellings of myths, legends and Shakespeare plays, and rhyming stories.

Anna was born and grew up in Yorkshire, but has also lived in Canada as a student, Iceland as an au pair, and Costa Rica as a conservation volunteer, where she saw tarantulas, tapirs, monkeys, sloths, crocodiles and giant katydids. She now lives in Edinburgh with her two children and two cats, Skye and Socks.

Mõnus värviline raamat, mis on mõeldud lastele. Alguses tehakse selgeks, mis on geenid, kromosoomid, geneetiline kood. Seejärel juba peatutakse geenide pärandumisel, geneetilistel tunnustel, geneetika ajalool. Umbes pool raamatust hõlmab tänapäevane geeniteadus, eetilisus ja ohud.

Geneetika valdkond tundub hästi põnev ja mind köitiski enim just tänapäevane tegevus selles valdkonnas. Samas tundub hirmutav ka.

Üldjoontes oli raamat kirjutatud minu jaoks üsna arusaadavalt ja lisatud ohtralt pilte/skeeme, kuid ma ei ole kindel, et see on jõukohane lastele.

Genes & DNA is full of information and amazing illustrations about ..genes and DNA. What is nice about this book is there are internet links on every few pages. This book is full of science facts and information. There is a timeline, a who is who page, a glossary, an index, and a contents page. This book is great for children who have so much interest in science and want to know more. This is definitely a book I plan to have in my classroom! 5/5 stars for me!

ntroduction to Gene and DNA by Anna Claybourne Genre: Dictionary Rating: 5/5

I like this book because it is so informative!

You probably know about this:
Mutant freaks from comic books and movies
Alienistic animals on earth

But did you know that:
Scientists can create these mutants
And we can make these alienistic animals normal?
This book tells you about many things in genetic science.

I recommend this book to science enthusiasts!

The parts about DNA and genetic engineering were pretty awesome, but I wasn't wild over this book.

This book was a good resource and a massive help in writing my formal writing essay on Genetic Diagnosis Treatments as it was easy to understand and provided a wealth of information.
