An accessible little book - and fabric - for beginners with sweet, if not especially novel, ideas. They are a bit too rustic for my tastes - I don't expect my work to look perfect but I'm not going to be intentionally slapdash either.

What an adorable book of handsewing projects!
I fell in love with most of these, even though I was looking for simple stuffies for a library program.
The book includes simple diagrams of the stitches used at the beginning, and the following charming projects:

Charming Hand stitched felt crafts done in a primitive style. Perfect for spending some quality time with beginner or younger crafters. Toys, Finger Puppets or perhaps a tooth fairy pillow for those precious baby teeth exchanges. These crafts are easy enough for crafters of all ages. They can be used as gifts, stocking stuffers and even decorations for packages. Adjustments can be made to the sizes to accommodate with objects that differ from the patterns given. You can embellish the projects to personalize them to your own personality. Don't worry if the stitches are not perfect or all the same size as it is called primitive art for that very reason. You are doing it by hand so that each is unique and one of a kind just like the crafter who makes it.

Kata Golda's Hand-Stitched Felt is a lovely book as it suitable not only for beginners, but as inspiration for more advanced crafters. I felt that the templates and instructions were at the perfect level because although they were basic, it was nice not to simply copy a more complicated design, but to use Golda's ideas as a springboard to creating a truly unique piece of your own.

There are lots of cute ideas for gifts; mainly for young-at-heart recipients, but a few (such as my personal favourite; the charming bird mug cozy) are suitable for all ages.

I liked it. Whimsical and hand-stitched were the words that grabbed me, and it was exactly that. I didn't feel like any of the projects were out of my reach or too hard, which was nice. And felt is the perfect medium for me. My tastes tend towards the crude and overtly hand-stitched, but a couple of these were even too much for me (I'm thinking of the hand-stitched window shades- too rough for me). Overall, though, very cute- it's a pity the closest library with it was in Colorado.

This is a great basic book on how to make cute things out of wool felt. I loved the animals. There are a lot of mice and rabbit families in my future. The only reason I didn't give it 4 stars was that I'd already done a lot of the card cases, bags, etc, so there wasn't that much new material for me other than the animals. I definitely recommend this for someone starting to work with felt.
