Like a steak from Denny's, this book was hard to swallow and left me somewhat unsatisfied.

The premise of the book was somewhat lame, not exactly original and indeed, fairly unrealistic.

The only interesting part was reading randomly inserted quotes and articles from the influenza pandemic of 1918, where 40-50 million unfortunate souls died.

If only the author was one of them.

Not sure exactly what the author was trying to do with this. Great premise, but it got lost in personal drama that did not need to be there.

Book Jacket:

The body of the man lay frozen in the Alaskan wilderness
for nearly eighty years, encased in a thick layer of ice,
until uncovered by a lone trapper. How could the trapper
know that by excavating the corpse he might possibly doom
the world? For within the frozen flesh lies a dormant
danger waiting to be awakened, a highly contagious virus
for which there is no known cure.

As the epidemic and the panic spread across the globe,
millions will die a terrible death, their blood thickened
in their veins. And one scientist will struggle to solve
the riddle of the plague, to unravel a medical mystery
that threatens mankind...and to uncover a conspiracy of
greed, madness and murder.

audible:I really liked this book.It seems that the only way to avoid the plague is to turn your family and money over to the local cult. Jack de Golia was a very good narrator for this book.I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.'

It was an interesting read. One of those books where one day lasts a really long time, or so it seems. Generally a good book. Fast read for me.
