Romance bookstore owner Sofia Navarro never forgot the homeless, handsome stranger who risked his life to save hers so long ago.
Billionaire cowboy Keegan Hart, aka rescue dog dad, never forgot Sofia's sass, her spirit, her warmth, or the way she opened the heart of the rebellious loner who had lost everything.
Neither of them forgot the intense, passionate love affair that ended too soon. He has tried to find her, but the fake name she gave him made it impossible.
And now, seventeen years later, they're about to get brought together again…by a secret that Sofia has kept from him since that day. A secret that will change his life forever. A secret that puts her in great danger. A secret that will no longer be contained.
But Christmas is a time for miracles, magic, and mistletoe, and the surprises that can heal hearts that have been broken for a very long time.

A Rogue Cowboy Christmas Surprise by Stephanie Rowe Hart Ranch Billionaires series book 2. Spin off of Wyoming Rebels series. Contemporary romance. Can be read as a stand-alone. Keegan has always wondered about the girl he spent a week with when he was young and living under a bridge. Finding out he has a daughter sixteen years later and having them both back in his life is everything to Keegan. He vows to protect them from any darkness or harm and fill their lives with love and family.
Ripe with emotional heartstrings. Only a quarter into the book and I’ve been crying for the last twenty pages. Those feel good moments where you want to cuddle something (or someone!) and breath it in. Keegan and Sofia have to work at learning to trust while dealing with a perceptive teen. It’s romantic and sweet and beautiful. I admit I cry pretty easily. This author has always been able to make me sob (happily!) even on a public transit system at the heart of rush hour. Maybe it will only be a smile for you when the good stuff happens. Enjoy the moment.
“Keegan smelled delicious. He was muscled. He was strong. And his arms felt familiar, safe, and, if Sofia were honest with herself, thrilling. Like how she used to feel with him. And the little puppy in his jacket made her remember how soft his heart had been back then, so gentle, despite all he'd been through.” Excerpt From A Rogue Cowboy's Christmas Surprise by Stephanie Rowe
What could be better than a billion Cowboy who loves to bake. He’s sweet kind and still in love with the girl who he hasn’t seen in 17 years. This book has so many great things about it. Just loved the story. Love a romance that helps put you in the holiday mood.
There’s just something about Christmas that is just so magical. The lights, the decorations, the food … family. This book has it all! The Hart’s have proved that you don’t have to share DNA to be family. Finding out you do share with someone…makes for an interesting twist. Keenan has always been a favourite in the Hart family, loving, compassionate, creative. Finding him someone special was a given. Having that someone be his long lost love…perfect! This book was such a joy to read. Touching tale, amazing characters, sooo many emotions…I can’t get enough! Thank you, thank you, thank you for another wonderful read!
Another winner! Keegan has never gotten over his brief first love. Believing never to see her again.
Sofia has never forgotten Keegan. She knows she can never be a part of his world. Then something happens to draw the two together again. And Keegan vows to never let Sofia go. Can they find a way for their future?
A Rogue Cowboy’s Christmas Surprise (book 2 in the Hart Ranch Billionaire's) follows Keegan Hart and his lost love, Sasha. I was captivated by Keegan in previous books and have been waiting for his story. He’s passionate, kind, honorable, and everything you can’t help but swoon over. Keegan had a very short relationship with Sasha (Sofia) when they were teens, then she left unexpectedly with anger and hurtful words.
Sixteen years later Sofia, who has been hiding from an abusive ex, tells her daughter Gabby who her biological father is, and Gabby takes immediate action to meet him. The loss and loneliness Keegan has experienced over the last sixteen years is nothing compared to what he feels when he’s told Sasha and her daughter died Fifteen years ago. But then he meets Gabby, and is floored by her exclamation “Merry Christmas, Dad. I'm home." It doesn’t matter that he just met her, he’s ‘all in’ as only a Hart can be.
I love the way Ms. Rowe pulls at my emotions in her stories. “I’ll never let you down”. Said with simplicity, love, and trust is the embodiment of Keegan Hart and went straight to my heart. Sofia is a mother lion when it comes to protection her daughter and Keegan is right there to protect both. The story is fast paced, the dialogue natural, and the feelings real. There are laughs and tears shed with her characters, but they will ALWAYS have each other’s backs. You’ll find yourself rooting for Keegan, Sofia, and Gabby and their HEA.
Hart Ranch Billionaire’s series centers around a group of orphans who came together as a family on the streets of Portland as teens. Now grown up and successful they still believe family is everything and you don’t have to be blood related to be family. I love these characters. They show heart and courage in everything they do. You don’t have to read them in order, but you’ll want to go back and read Brock and Tatum’s story (book 1) if you haven’t already. This family of books is that good! Thank you to the author for an arc of this book. This is my honest and voluntary review.
As seen on my blog (Jessie's Reading Corner): DISCLAIMER: I voluntarily read and reviewed an advance copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
This was an excellent addition to the Hart Ranch Billionaires series and Keegan Hart has stolen my heart.
Twenty years ago he let the love of his life walk out of his life and because of a rebellious teenager, he has a second chance at making it right. However, she’s not the same woman as she was when they first met, and he has to tread lightly in order to try and break down her walls and win her heart.
I loved the chemistry he had with Sophia, it jumped out of the page when they laid eyes on each other again. I loved the relationship he had with Gabby, and Gabby’s relationship with Keegan’s sister, Bella.
My only critique (though it wasn’t that big of dealbreaker for me because I have never been in Sophia’s shoes, and I hope I never do) was that I didn’t like how wishy washy Sophia was when it came to whether she could trust Keegan. I thought he proved time and time again how she could trust him (especially with Gabby.) One minute she does, and the next minute she’s pushing him away.
Other than that, this was a great holiday romance about a couple getting a second chance at love. If that sounds like a book you’d like to read, buy this book!
Perfect holiday read. Young lovers find each other again after 17 years. Keegan Hart never forgot Sasha , the free spirit girl that gave the homeless boy hope and happiness for a week until she disappeared pregnant with his child. Sasha/Sofia promised her daughter that she'd tell her who her fathers on her 16 birthday. Gabrielle takes off in her mother's car to visit her dad.
What follows is a heart warning journey of discovering family and acceptance as Keegan and Sofia navigate their relationship. But Sofia has another secret that could destroy them all before their small family can get their HEA.
I loved this book. Keegan and Sofia have not seen each other for 16 years after she ran out on him after they had spent a week together. I loved how when they met again there was no anger, just understanding, love, acceptance and Christmas magic. Keegan and Sofia were always meant to be together, things are not straightforward but they work towards their happy ending with their daughter, with the help of the close knit Hart family. I received a copy from the author and leave my review voluntarily.
This was such a heart-warming holiday romance and I really found myself glued to my reader to see how Keegan and Sopfia's romance would unfold. It was exciting and filled with love - and family. You can expect an unforgotten past connection, trauma, strong characters, humour and a compassionate and protective MMC when you dive into the wonderful addition to the series - and let's not forget that charming teen ;) This really was such a fun read :D
Great, great, great. A Rogue Cowboy's Christmas Surprise is an amazing feel-good holiday treat. I fell in love with the Hart family through Stephanie Rowe's Wyoming Rebels series and to get to read the second book in the Hart families own series is a real thrill. This literally rags-to-riches family built from need and love has joined the Stocktons as my favorite modern cowboy reads. The kindness that surrounds everything they do is only part of what makes the books so wonderful. It is a perfect second-chance-romance novel filled with fun and dreams and steam. After years of searching, Keegan Hart gets sad news about his one true experience with love only to discover that there is much more to the story.
I am probably first in line to beg for an early copy of any of Stephanie Rowe's contemporary books, so I was thrilled to get to read an ARC of A Rogue Cowboy's Christmas Surprise, but of course, I also ordered my own copy of the book.
A Rogue Cowboy’s Christmas Surprise by Stephanie Rowe is another installment in the Hart’s Ranch Billionaire series. This is an endearing success story of group of homeless kids who banded together, first to survive, then to make a success of their tech knowledge to develop an empire. With that in place they are now making lives for themselves. Keegan is following his dream of owning a bakery after years of baking for the family and then for his “sister’s” cafe. He had a week long friendship with a girl he had presumed to be homeless also, sixteen years earlier. He had been hunting for her ever since. Finally, his “brother” had found her obituary: hers and that of her child. The timing was right. Had he had a daughter he didn’t know about? Now they were both gone, had been for years. At this same time his daughter was celebrating her 16th birthday and begging her mother to make good on a promise she had made years ago: tell her the name of her birth father. Gabby(Gabriel) forced Sofia to tell her and very early the next morning, borrowed her mother’s car to go find him. Yes, Keegan. Well, life being what it is, it was snowing and Gabby ran herself into a ditch. But, who should come to her rescue but Keegan and his “sister,” Bella.
The Harts and their situation are really too good to be true. That’s what makes a feel-good romance. Keegan has been feeling kind of hopeless lately. The bakery isn’t as much fun as he thought it would be and the news of Sascha’s death was really more than her had bargained for. Meanwhile, Sofia (Sascha) is relatively nearby, running a bookstore with her partner Jocie. She was not dead, but she was off the grid. Her husband had been an abuser and she feared for her life, but the minute he took aim at Gabby, she was gone. She was strong and determined and had made a good life for herself. Yes, she still thought about Keegan, but never seriously. It was Christmas and the store Christmas party is Monday and she has things to do, not the least of which is to find Gabby. Good characters! Good story! What a fun read! Perfect for Christmas!
I was invited to read a free e-ARC of A Rogue Cowboy’s Christmas Surprise by the author. All thoughts and opinions are mine. #StephanieRowe #ARogueCowboysChristmasSurprise
What can I say except Stephanie Rowe did it AGAIN! I always say the last one is my favorite, but then she writes another and I love it even more! Keegan and Sofia's story had me immediately hooked from the vert first page. This is a love story about the one that got away, only to be the one thing in your life to bring you back to living!
Keegan and Sofia meet as young adults and there is a definite, instant connection. Falling hard as only 18 year olds can, they have one passionate week together, only to have their different life paths put a halt to what could have been. Fast forward almost 17 years, Keegan just can't seem to forget Sofia and what could have been. Having his brother try to find her all these years later only ends in another heartache for Keegan. Then comes a few HUGE surprises for Keegan (a teenage daughter Gabriella that suddenly appears, along with the long lost Sofia!) that brings meaning and purpose to his life, along with the knowledge that all along Sofia was the love of his life. Now to show her that she can trust him with her heart and that he can keep them both save from the one thing that has kept them hidden all these years.
I loved how Keegan instantly knew that their connection back then was just as strong now if not stronger, and that he had to be patient with Sofia because of a past that shook her trust in others. Also, I loved so much how the whole Hart family was immediately welcoming and treated Sofia and Gabriella with all love and no judgement. This one had me laughing and tearing up at times, and I can't wait for the next one in the series!!
This book…just wow….it really packs an emotional punch. It is a beautiful second chance story with all the emotions, the connections and the love expertly woven throughout. I was immersed in the story from the first sentence and could not put it down. I did not simply read the characters’ emotions, I lived and breathed them with Sofia, Keegan and Gabby, feeling all their feelings as if they were my own - the love, the joy, the fear, the sadness, the laughter, the regret, the pain, and the tears. Keegan Hart is a billionaire who has never stopped looking for the one woman who captured his heart 17 years ago when he was a homeless teen. Sofia has been hiding for years but the truth and a serendipitous twist of fate brings them together once again. Their chemistry and feelings are still there despite the passage of time but dealing with the past while trying to stay safe from potential danger complicates things and trusting is hard. The journey to their HEA is a bit of a roller coaster ride but it is a fantabulous heart warming journey. The book has a little bit of everything - sweet moments, strong family bonds, sexy times, real life issues, imperfect characters, dangerous moments, mystery, uber protective men, painful pasts, and so much love. The books in this series have a central theme of family - those we are born into and those we create. I loved this heart warming, swoony love story and I cannot wait to read the rest of the Harts’ stories. I willingly reviewed an early copy of this book.
Keegan has never forgotten his first love, Sasha. They had a magical week together when he was still a homeless teen living under a bridge with the people who would become the brothers and sisters of his heart. He intermittently tried to find her but always hit a brick wall but a sliver of a lead leads him to believe that she may have died - along with a baby who may have been his.
Sofia aka Sasha fled Keegan not because she didn't love him or want him but because she was too afraid of losing herself. She fell into an abusive relationship and literally had to fake her death, and that of her daughter, to escape. When she finally lets her daughter know who her father is Gabby takes off to meet him!
Car accidents, lucky breaks and an adorable puppy - all the makings of a great holiday read! Keegan is one huge cinnamon roll of a hero! Animals love him, people love him and he bakes too! His simple acceptance of Gabby is so heartwarming. He always checks with Sofia that he's not overstepping her or countering her wishes.
Festive fiction at its best. The Harts may live away from the limelight largely even with their billions, but they are not naive or easily duped. Keegan just knows in his heart what is true and goes all in! Sofia is a more wary and skittish prospect. She's lived on the edge of flight for so long that she doesn't know how to live any other way. The love and compassion shine through without the story becoming schmaltzy or sickeningly sweet.
I absolutely LOVE these books. It is so easy to get pulled into this world.
Keegan is such a sweet guy. The start of the book with his pup he ended up rescuing is the beginning of an amazing story. He has never forgotten the love of what he feels like is his life. They had such a brief time together but she is the one girl that meant the world to him.
Sofia has had such a rough seventeen years since she left Keegan. She is such a strong and independent woman that will not let that control go, she has been through too much to do that. She’s kept her life and secrets hidden from danger and from Keegan. She feels the same as him and never forgotten him either.
When they end up coming back together, it is definitely not in the way you expect but it seriously gives you all the feels. Their chemistry is just as explosive and hot as it was during their one week together those seventeen years. They go through such a roller coaster with everything that happens during their time keeps you on the edge of the seat.
You seriously go through so many emotions while reading this one. Keegan most certainly gets a Christmas surprise.
I highly recommend to everyone and anyone!!
I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
Years ago, living under a bridge, a group of homeless teenagers created a family. A family with a bond greater than many conventional families. Now adults, each one is a billionaire, but they still hold on to the belief that family means everything. Keigan Hart is one of those siblings. Seventeen years ago a young woman stole his heart shortly after he saved her life . An idyllic week, until she left to never come back. Years later, he still thought about her. Sofia Navarro was that girl. Now a mother of a teenager, she’s been hiding in plain sight from a very destructive man. But all that changes when her daughter goes in search of her father. Keigan is shocked and joyous to discover he has a child and that Sofia is alive. As they rediscover each other, the fear of the past , and of giving her independence, has Sofia hesitating. Will the past come back to haunt her? Will she give love a chance or will her independence keep her from finding true happiness? Another wonderful story in this series about the meaning of a real family. I was entrusted a copy of this book. The opinions expressed are solely my own.
"How did it take that long to find her? Wasn't it in the papers? Certificates of death aren't difficult to find." Fifteen years. Sascha had been dead for fifteen years. His mind was whirling. "See, that's the thing. Her name wasn't really Sascha Rose."
...and with that Keegan Hart's world was shattered. Little did he know his world would be shocked to the core yet again by more than one surprise to come. I absolutely love the Hart family, and Keegan has always held a special place. I was so happy to get a peek into his world in this holiday read. The past comes a knocking in more ways than one. Past trauma can define someone in many different ways. See how it defined these dazzling characters and forged the paths they took. Fall in love with them and cheer them on....*especially* one cheeky young teen. I couldn't put this down. It was exciting-filled with love and humor, history, past trauma, a strong, independent FMC, and a kind, compassionate, protective alpha male. This reader gives it two enthusiastic thumbs up.
Stephanie does it again , the second book in the Hart Ranch series was well worth the wait I love these guys, Keegan Hart loves being a baker but just lately his inspiration has waned, he has never forgotten the best 7 days of his life 16 years ago when he met and fell in love with Sascha in one magical week he has tried to find her , now nearing Christmas his heart is shattered as he discovers she died along with her daughter . Sofia has never forgotten the homeless boy she fell in love with 16 years ago , she marries a man she met while having her daughter in hospital she thought he would provide a good home for them how wrong had she been so 18 months on she fled and went into hiding, but fate has other ideas fast forward to the present and an accident in the snow , won't give any more away but if you want a story that gives you that AHH!!! Christmas feeling then look no further. Just to say love the dog so cute.. this series just keeps getting better, just what you have come to expect from this author.
Keegan Hart has been searching for nearly 15 years for the woman who claimed his heart and fueled his fire to live. As a homeless teenage runaway he formed familial bonds with other homeless teens and the bonds with his Hart siblings mean everything to him.
This story brings together Keegan and Sacha/Sophia and their teenage daughter, Gabby. Sophia has been living in hiding from her rich and cruel ex-husband for nearly 15 years. She is focused on having her freedom and not being trapped or dependent upon a man. Her fear is justified; however, Keegan Hart isn’t just any man. He is a protector, and someone who loves her completely. He is also an incredibly rich billionaire who isn’t going to let her just walk out of his life again after finally finding her.
This story has plenty of emotion and swoony moments. Keegan is pretty spectacular, Gabby is sassy and sweet, and Sophia while skittish and hesitant she yearns for Keegan’s love.
I received a free ARC from the author and her publisher; and I am voluntarily leaving an unbiased review.
This is book 2 in this series and because they are such heartwarming stories, you really should read them in order, but it isn’t necessary to understand what is going on.
This is one of my favorite families. After all they went through in their childhood, how they turned out to be caring, honest and loyal individuals is beyond me.
Keegan went through so much emotional turmoil in the beginning of this book. First from finding out he may have had a daughter, to believing both she and his teen love, Sascha, we’re dead, to finally meeting his daughter. He was all in from the start, no questions asked about whether he was really the father. The Harts are very protective of family and Sascha and Gabrielle were pulled in immediately. Keegan finds out they are in hiding and has to gain Sascha’s (whose real name is Sofia) trust.
I read this book from front to back in one sitting. I couldn’t put it down. Love the Hart family and can’t wait to see what happens next.
The Hart family are firm believers that DNA does not make a family. It’s the people you give your heart to that are truly family. Keagan proves this when he accepts that Gabriella is his daughter, only moments after saving her, no questions asked. “She claimed me, and I claimed her, so yeah. Mine.” The characters in this book really make the story all the more special. We all need a friend like Jocie who will tell you to take a chance on love because it’s worth it and at the same time tell your teenager “Anytime you want to disobey your mom, you go right ahead and do it. You have great instincts.” Kids need to hear that they can be their own person and make their own decisions and they most likely won’t hear from this parents. Gabby is a teenager through and through. Holds her mother to her promises, snarky, no it all, and absolutely lovable. “Tada! You guys made me that night. Merry Christmas, Dad.” How could you not love a character who introduces herself that way?! Life happens quickly in this book, it’s a page turner and you’ll want to stay up late just to keep up. *I received an ARC of this book from the author and I voluntarily left my review.
If you are looking for a sweet, sexy, feel good, magical Christmas second chance romance, this one I'm sure will be for you.
I love Stephanie Rowe's writing, it just flows and keeps you turning the pages. The story was sweet and romantic, with a little drama, some angst but was full of love, healing and a gradual rebuild of trust for both Keagan and Sofia due to their traumatic pasts. It was simply heart-warming to see them both came back to life.
I loved how family was so important and Keagan's reaction to Sofia's daughter Gabby couldn't have been sweeter. That man is a protector, who wouldn't want a gorgeous, wonderful man like that in their life!
It did perhaps end a little unexpectedly abruptly and unusually there was no epilogue, but The Harts are a very close knit family, bonded by much more than blood ties, so I'm sure we will see them again.
If this sounds like your cup of tea, I'd absolutely recommend it!
Let me say right off the bat that I won't read stories about secret babies. I'm not a fan of the trope. I grabbed this book without knowing the plot, because this author has never written a word I haven't loved. Turns out, that she wrote a beautiful and emotional story about three people who belong to each other. More importantly, I believed the story. Sofia, Keegan and Gabby's responses to each other and their situation made sense. Nothing was overdone. I understood and believed each of their reactions. Not once did I consider setting this story aside because of the subject matter. The story was so so much more than the trope. A true storyteller can move you past your comfort zone and create a moving experience. This book blew me away. I honestly loved these characters. Even the resolution of the danger Sophia and Gabby faced was deftly handled. It was believable, it made sense for the heroine and how she has grown and changed. It was perfect.
I highly recommend- this book is everything you want in a Christmas story, with a bonus of learning more about couple members of the Hart family.
As typical in holiday romances, there is a compressed timeframe. This story does it justice, because there is an interesting history between the main characters. There is a cute dog involved throughout, which adds to the happy-ever-after feels.
I love that we don't just get to know Keegan Hart, but also have some great interactions with another Hart family member, Bella. The female romantic lead, Sofia, is a bit annoying with how she hides the situation with her ex-husband. However, she is a strong character, and didn't need a significant other to make her life full of activities and friends.
My only critical comment is that we didn't have an opportunity to interact with the rest of the Hart family. Having everyoen together at a dinner or event would have been a nice way to wrap up. I'm crossing my fingers for the next book!
What happens when your dream no longer makes you happy? How do you overcome the news that the person you have loved is dead? What would you do if a teenage girl claims she is your daughter?
Keegan is not able to figure out what is missing in his new baking receipe. Not only is he worried that he will not be able to give his first costumers their special treat, he just found out that the person who made him whole is dead. Oh wait, is she really no longer alive or was it all planned to keep her safe?
Sofia had to fake her own death to save herself and her daughter, but it all changes when she keeps the promise she made to her daughter. Sofia let's her daughter know who her dad is and cannot believe her daughter stole her car to see him.
What happens when Keegan and Sofia see each other again? Will they be threatened by the danger of Sophia's ex-husband? Wait no more and get a copy of A Rogue Cowboy's Christmas Surprise.

The Hart family is made up of people who lived on the streets and formed a special bond looking out for each other. They are bound by love and not blood. Years later they are billionaires who use their money to rescue people and animals. Keegan spent one week with Sascha when he was 18 and then she left. He's spent years trying to find her but without any luck. Sofia once went by the name of Sascha. She has a sixteen year old daughter and they have been living under the radar. She was pregnant when she left Keegan and made the mistake of meeting and marrying a wealthy man. He was attentive and seemed kind until he started abusing her. She fled with her daughter, divorced him and has been hiding since then. Gabby has turned sixteen and wants to know who her father is. Sofia finally admits it's Keegan Hart. Gabby takes off to find him and it opens up a whole new world for everyone. Love the characters and love the series.
What a joy to catch up with the Harts and find Keegan is getting his story. He’s a good man, rich beyond his wildest dreams when he was living under the bridge with the rest of his “family.” Sophia, the woman he had a connection with all those years ago, has kept a lot of secrets from both her daughter and Keegan.
Its a joyful story so well suited to the Christmas season. As always the characters Ms Rowe creates are like family and friends. Sophia has made a life for herself and her daughter; Keegan has made a life for himself. Can they rekindle the magic they found as teenagers for that short period of time. Will the secrets Sophia keeps prevent them from being together.
Loved this book and look forward to catching up with the rest of the Harts in subsequent stories.
Keegan and Sofia met as teenagers and only knew each other for a week. But it was long enough. 17 years later, after using all the resources at his find Sofia, only to be told that she’d died not long after they’d met, along with her baby. Except…she didn’t. And neither did her baby. Their baby. On her 16th birthday, Gabby finally gets Sofia to tell her who her biological dad is, and this sets off a chain of events that attract the notice of a dangerous man that Sofia has been hiding from all this time. I’m her fear of this man - for herself and for Gabby - Sofia’s instincts are to run and hide. From the man that’s a danger to her, and the man that loves her. Excellent story, with a lot packed into a short time.

Keegan Hart is struggling to figure out what's missing in his life. The Harts have everything they could ever want, but Keegan hasn't been able to forget the girl he met at 18, the one he spent 7 magical days with falling in love. Then she broke his heart and disappeared. He has been looking for her ever since.
When he and his sister Bella and his new puppy Millie decide to do the delivery route for his bakery, he has no idea who he will meet along the way and how she will change his life. This story had me falling for Keegan and all of the Harts and I can't wait to read the other books in this series.
A Rogue Cowboys Christmas Surprise is a perfect heartwarming Christmasy story that will leave you with all the feels and a smile on your face.
Sophia has hidden a secret that she never intended to reveal. It's awesome that teenagers can break the ice in so many situations, even "sparkly sunshine" ones. A bit of humor in tense situations is always good, and there are tidbits through the story. Gabby and Bella are the ones to provide the comic relief, to bring in right advice, you've got Alice, she knows everything! Great romantic moments as well, the farm all lit up with Christmas lights. I was really looking forward to the big last minute Christmas gathering, but the bookstore party was fabulous with Kevin. Love this series.
