This was an incredible account of one man's captivity, survival, and rescue. Sometimes it lagged a bit and I lost interest but overall, it was very intriguing. The detail is astounding, and I learned a lot. I recommend this if you enjoy first-hand historical accounts.

The Story of Matthew Brayron
I was amazed at this story, the details involved in this story. I cannot imagine the horrible pain and the suffering and the mental anguish that Matthew suffered. The same for his white family. Also for his Indian family when he did not come back for them. Kattie From Texas.

My mom told me she had a grandma, or a great grandma, who had a brother who was stolen by the Indians. She said they were just out playing one day and he disappeared. I was excited to learn he had the opportunity to tell the story of what really happened, and I got to read it!

A fascinating account of a white boy stolen by the Indians. Matthew Brayton's thirty-four years of stay with the Indians informs a great deal about the Indian lifestyle, fighting with other tribes and relations with the white. The end of the journey touches the heart and put the mind rejoicing.

William Braxton a legend
I gave this novel five stars, because I like the way the story was told. I really enjoyed reading about this strong man, that I easily would call a legend. A very brave and strong man.
