I can't say I was particularly pleased with this book. Yes, the writing was fluent and the characters were decent but the kid in the story kind of ticked me off. I understand he just lost both his parents and his future is uncertain and unstable due to that fact but he acted like a spoiled brat. I don't care who you are but for a six year old to have a temper tantrum like that, it just drove me insane. Through out the whole book that turned me away from the novel. I don't mean to sound heartless or anything like that, I understand that in the real world after such a traumatic event kids are unpredictable but I just couldn't like the book after the kids first freak out. He behaved really rudely to a lot of the other characters as well.. Chase.. who seems like such a hottie.

I was totally captivated by the characters in this book. The hero and heroine were wonderful and the heroine's nephew[Nicky]was so lovable.

Also enjoyed the setting in Yosemite National Park,a place I have always wanted to visit. The author took me there.

Skillful and endearing character and romance development.Rebecca Winters is my new favorite romance author.I love how there is sizzling chemistry between her romantic leads, but she closes the bedroom door. She also keeps the swears to only a few occasional mild ones.

Be sure to read the second book which is Vance's best friend and fellow ranger's story~ The Ranger's Secret, another heartwarmer.

I'm a sucker for a sweet romance, and Rebecca Winters, though very predictable, is one of my favorite authors. I thought the ending of this one was a little abrupt. I like it when the author includes an epilogue to wrap up the story a little better.

The kid was a brat and kinda spoiled the whole book for me. I absolutely HATE whiney kids in books.
