Think of all the moments you "lose" stuck in traffic, standing in line, waiting for a download. And think of all the moments you "waste" working when you're not focused, or fiddling with your phone. What if each of these moments offered you an extraordinary opportunity? In One-Moment Meditation, Martin Boroson distils the philosophy of time into a simple form of meditation that you can do anywhere, anytime. It begins with an exercise that takes just one minute per day. With practice, this takes less and less time, until it takes no time at all. Then each and every moment gives you a chance to reduce stress, refresh your mind, and open yourself to new possibilities. Playful, profound, and above all, practical, One-Moment Meditation teaches you that inner peace is not a distant goal reserved for saints and sages, and it doesn't take a lot of time: it only takes a moment.
The idea of mindfulness "mini-hits" is not a new one and the book contains a LOT of padding. Nonetheless it is a simple, valuable practice so you might as well learn about it here.
A quick read to this book to check out what i am practicing now is correct or not. I have started to practice the mindfulness meditation after i watched the movie : Walk with me with Zen Buddhist master Thich Nhat Hanh. It's actually very easy and simple. i usually do this before i sleep, lying in bed and focus on breathing. it does a magic on me, whatever you are bothered cleared out after just few breathing, because i simply fall asleep this fast. LOL. The moment you focus on breathing, the sensation is like you drag your wandering soul back to your body, even though i fall asleep this fast, I find it gave me immense peace and forgiveness. I enjoy this meditation. What am I thinking at that moment?? Really nothing, just focusing on breathing.
Give yourself a moment is very important, we all still have long way to learn to be a better person. First of all, get rid of the ones who won't give your life any positiveness. If someone doesn't deserve your respect because what he or she could do is insulting, silence is the best answer for this kind of people. Don't waste any moment anymore, life is beautiful when you are able to move on....and out of sight, out of mind!! Peace !
This book made me think quite a bit about what I had been hoping to accomplish during the years of my life when I meditated for 20-60 minutes per day. Why struggle to be more relaxed and compassionate if it is our true nature to be both of those things?
