Das Jahr der Verschwörer is another of the books I loved as a teenager and I was really looking forward to read it again and I have not been disappointed - I still enjoyed it a lot. It is taking us into the German city of Schwäbisch Hall in 1450 in which a number of alarming things have been happening. When his best friend is found death, Jos is doing everything in order to find out what happened to him. Together with his friend Sarah and the hangman's daugther Rebecca, Jos is following every trace and they are not shying away from bringing themselves into danger.

While the mystery of the story has been well done, I also enjoyed the many historical details the author offered. The atmosphere has been very credible and I was able to connect to the different characters.

Fantastic book! I really like historical fiction. This story with a very well researched background is leading the reader into the late middle ages. The three loveable main characters show courage and compassion in solving a crime that involves a convent and children who are poor beggars. Definitely a page turner!

I really like reading books by Ulrike Schweikert. I was totally involved in the story, and I enjoy improving my German language / history skills in this manner.
