Once again we have a very silly Spongebob book that gets my 5 yr old interested in reading by himself. It's got a lot of works and difficulty-wise, it's probably at least a level 2 reader. The story is typical for Spongebob but endearing for his fans. A great read for a kid who likes Spongebob who you're trying to encourage to read more. My son gets so excited lately when he sees a Spongebob or Curious George book!

This is for a friend of mine but I can't see the attraction of the character really but if children can relate to it, that's fine.
In this tale SpongeBob goes to the circus but he is unable to take his friend Patrick with him with him to see The Stingray Brothers & Barnacle Bay Shrimps Circus when it comes to Bikini Bottom because he is ill in bed.
But SpongeBob decides to go anyway but he feels guilty when he is at 'the greatest show under the sea', which it turned out to be. So SB goes back to Patrick's and announces, 'We;come to the second greatest show under the sea, SpongeBob's Almost-as-Good-as-a Real-Circus Circus'.
Patrick perked up and was excited as SB goes through a whole host of circus routines that he had seen at the real show and by the end of the performance, Patrick had perked up and announces, 'The circus has cured me!'

“Patrick, Bikini Broek IS onder de zee!”, zegt SpongeBob. “Oh”, zegt Patrick terwijl hij op zijn hoofd krabt. “Ik vroeg me altijd al af waarom hier zoveel vissen zijn.”

I very rarely ever give SpongeBob books more than a 3 star, but this one I felt deserved more than the others. It wasn't 'hyper' nor degrading to one another etc. SpongeBob wanted his friend Patrick to go to the circus with him. But when Patrick gets sick he wants SB to stay with him but SB doesn't and goes onto the circus. But while he's there he tries to enjoy all the neat things he's never seen but then starts feeling guilty about his friend not being there with him. So he leaves the circus and goes to Patricks house and puts on his very own circus for him! Remembering all the things he saw he recreated so his best friend could enjoy it too. A very touching storybook of friendship and love for your friend.

This story is weird, it's like its teaching kids they shouldn't be allowed to have fun if their friends can't come. SpongeBob goes to the circus while Patrick is sick, Patrick wants SpongeBob to stay home and get sick with him, then SpongeBob feels guilty for leaving Patrick and goes home to entertain him. It's kind of stupid.

I can't understand what my son likes about Spongebob Squarepants, especially since he's only seen one episode that I can recall, but he chose this book and we read it so...

Patrick is too sick to go to the circus so Spongebob recreates the circus for him.

Pleasantly surprised to find this spongebob book with a nice message on friendship, not leaving your friends when they are ill.
