The climactic conclusion to the Stonetellers saga!

Goblin Nation concludes The Stonetellers trilogy, finding Direfang and his army of goblins and hobgoblins deep in the Qualinesti Forest. Although they are far from the Dark Knights' mining camp they escaped from, they are also far from safe. The forest is fraught with its own deadly dangers--with the entire world seemingly bent on keeping the goblins from founding their new homeland. But Direfang is resolute and will risk all their lives in a final bid for freedom.

When I am not writing, I toss tennis balls to my cadre of dogs. My house is filled with books and dogs, you can smell both when you walk in the front door. It's a good smell.

I have 36 published novels and am currently writing in the mystery genre. My latest mystery, The Dead of Winter, was a finalist for the Claymore Award and is the first in the Piper Blackwell series.

I live in a tiny town in the middle of Illinois that has a Dollar General, a pizza place with exceedingly slow service, a veterinarian (good thing, eh?), and train tracks...lots of train tracks.

This is the final book of a trilogy that takes place in Dragonlance. The first two books must be read before this one. In this one, the hobgoblins and goblins have arrived at the forest that they are going to call home. Getting there and it actually being home are two different things because there is still so much to do.

The author has written several books for this universe and at best they were serviceable. That has changed with this trilogy with each book getting better and better. Her greatest accomplishment with this trilogy is making the reader sympathetic towards a race that is notoriously the villains. I so wanted these goblins to succeed and find happiness. I loved how the goblins faced hardships even though they have arrived at their destination. They had to deal with hunger, inter clan fighting, and dragons to contend with. And after all that they had to deal with the Dark Knights who were their slave masters. So much action in the last half of the book but not sacrificing character portrayal.

I am trying to read every Dragonlance book and I wasn't looking forward to this trilogy. I was so wrong. This is a wonderful trilogy that can be a little dark. This book came real close to receiving a five star rating but I felt like there was a loose thread that wasn't dealt with. That being said, I enjoyed this so much.

I can’t believe this marks the end of my full Dragonlance read-through! I’ve officially read all the adult novels in the series. Anyway, I very much enjoyed this conclusion to The Stonetellers trilogy. I still feel like the first boon was the strongest in terms of story and characters, but this was a great ending. Again, we follow Direfang and his goblins and hobgoblins as they try to found a new city in the abandoned Qualisnesti forest. This time, the Knights of Neraka are closer on their trail, bent on killing the goblins as retribution for the destruction of Steel Town and its garrison. If I had to complain, I’d say we saw just too little of Direfang. His leadership and strong character were one of the draws of the books, and I missed him. I really wish there was more to this series! I want to know what happens to the goblins in the future, which is just like how I felt after the Elven Nations trilogy and just about every DL series. I just want more. Guess it’s a good thing we have new books to look forward to!

This was an enjoyable conclusion to the Goblin Trilogy. What I liked about this book was that everything was wrapped up quite nicely. The reader is not left guessing what happened to the characters. The trilogy as a whole I like how the Goblins are portrayed as creatures with souls and personalities instead of the usual "evil" demons as they appear in most other books.
