This informative 16 page Science Vocabulary Reader for young students will engage them with photos of trees and leaves. The text covers what leaves look like -- their shapes; what leaves do -- making food for the tree (also for bugs); the life cycles of leaves through all four seasons. Includes Glossary and three simple Comprehensive Questions.
This 16 page book includes photos and information about different types of leaves and the cycle they go through during the changing seasons. The book is split into three chapters (Leaf Shapes, What do Leaves do?, and A Leaf's Life) and has a glossary and comprehension questions at the back. This book is appropriate for 1st-3rd grade and introduces vocabulary and fun facts throughout the book. Overall, fairly informative while still being age appropriate to read independently or as a class, offering a good introduction to the different kinds of leaves and the importance they have in living trees.
This was an informational book about the different types of leaves there are. It goes through the process of how leaves get their pigmentation. There are many leaves that grow on different trees, and they change color depending on the season. There are also different parts to leaves such as the stems and the veins.
This would be a good book to teach younger students about the different parts of leaves, and what types of trees they grow on. You could have students bring in different leaves and they can observe them in a science class. Have them point out the different parts of the leaf, and then have them try to determine what type of leaf it is.
Scientific reference book for early readers to get interested in natural sciences. I like that they have examples to leaves in this book such as: ferns, pine, grass, ginkgo, linden, poplar, white willow, sweet gum, sassafras, and holly.
Genre: Picture book, informational book This is a wonderful informational book all about leaves. It has information about different types of leaves and what happens to them. There are wonderful pictures that help provide the information. I think this is a great book for a teacher to read to the very young to help them learn about leaves. It is also good for the young reader to read on their own to understand this topic.
This book talks about the different leaf shapes, the different types of trees and leaves, and it talks about what leaves do. I really liked the authentic pictures and the fact bubbles. I could use this book in a plant unit or possibly in a seasons unit as it talks about why the leaves change colors.
