This book doesn't have a story because it is a non fiction information book but it did have good information on World War Two fighter planes. It also tells you when and how the planes were used and made. There is also a section on every page about what type of engine and guns were put on it.
You can't help but feel intrigued, fond of, and finally, awed by fighter aircraft in time if you are serving as an airforce private in the Middle East. I was being "exposed" to the wonders and evils of F-16s, F-14s and F-4s during my military service in the eastern part of Turkey during turbulent times. This book is filled with knowledge on almost each and every model of fighter aircraft which ever had any significance, beginning from the early 20th century. Could such a book ever be made interesting and fun to read even if you're not much of a military buff? Yeah, it sure can be done if the author knows what he's doing. And this is the book where Francis Crosby of Imperial War Museum Doxford just makes it happen.
Love it. This book features nearly everything from the first wooden fighters of WWI, to the more modern fighters of the late twentieth and early twenty-first centuries, such as the Lockheed Martin/ General Dynamics F-16 Fighting Falcon and the famous Lockheed Martin/ Boeing F-22 Raptor.
