An excellent adaptation of four Sherlock Holmes stories.
One of my favorite things in this collection was how it incorporated Sherlock Holmes's reaction to the real stage play "Sherlock Holmes," written by William Gillette and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. In the play, Sherlock Holmes falls in love and kisses a woman. It's so out of character it was hard to believe Doyle had anything to do with the script. But apparently, Doyle didn't mind giving Gillette some leeway. When Gillette asked if he could have Holmes fall in love, Doyle replied, "You may marry him, murder him, or do anything you like to him."
It was fun seeing Holmes and Watson talk about the play and its foibles.
