Marking one's territory was never so naughty?

Dolan would love to hate the new veterinarian who's horning in on his territory. But the flame-haired fantasy come true makes his body burn with just a smile.

The smart thing to do is forget about her, so perhaps a threesome arranged by his old college buddy is just what he needs to get her out of his head.

Divorcee Tracy Marx has moved to Santa Ysabel to start a new practice and maybe find someone to take her outside the boundaries of vanilla sex.

Instead she finds trouble in the form of a cowboy whose dark, sexy gaze lights her up and could also destroy any chance of success.

The best thing to do is stay far, far away from him.

When Dolan shows up for the promised night of fantasy, he's shocked to find Tracy has traded her medical bag for a bustier and bondage. Tracy would like nothing better than to slap that smirk right off his face, but the prospect of being sandwiched between two men is impossible to resist even if one of them is her adversary.

Besides, no one calls her chicken.

Born and raised in Arizona, I guess you'd call me a desert rat. Well, actually, I'd be a desert rat that loves the mountains and lakes. Arizona gives me great pleasure, because if I'm not at the computer writing or buried nose deep in a book you'll find me on a four-wheeler, or a jet ski, or being pulled behind my 26’ Monterey boat on an oblong tube called a ‘hot dog’ laughing my ass off. In fact, my family says I have an unnerving cackle cutting through the waves--similar to a witch!

Yes, that's right this witch has a family... Bill is my wonderful husband of twenty-two years. Tia, Samantha and Ashley are my three beautiful girls and my greatest accomplishments to date. And the light of my life is a devilishly handsome grandson, Dusty.

As writing is a passion with many—it’s an obsession with me. Who knew that the wild things going on in my head someone would actually read? But I'm thankful you do and I hope you find joy and entertainment in my sometimes—okay most of the time—risqué ramblings.

Nothing particularly memorable or unusual about this one, just a nice, solid, erotic romance that doesn't go too overboard on the kink factor (excluding the two ménage scenes, of course). The hero of this story, studly man-about-town veterinarian Dr. Dolan Crane, was first introduced in the short story Take Me, where he participated in a threesome with his cousin and his cousin's eventual bride. The dark haired, uber sexy Dolan has a well-deserved reputation in town as a ladies' man with a thing for ménages. This guy's never met a woman he didn't like (or didn't know how to appreciate). Despite his active sex life, 28 year old Dolan does have a serious side, especially when it comes to establishing his career as a vet in California's horse racing/breeding community. So when the heroine of the story, beautiful red-headed, recent divorcee Dr. Tracy Marks heads to California and tries to establish her vet practice in Dolan's territory, effectively competing with him for the same business, well you know the sparks are going to fly.

Of course Tracy and Dolan get off to a rocky start, since he resents the fact that she's horning in on what he considers his territory, but he can't deny that her physical beauty and sultry voice gets his motor running. He wants her but he doesn't necessarily like her. When his old college buddy (Rowdy the 'matchmaker') who's recently moved to town suggests that maybe a threesome will help him get the luscious but annoying Tracy out of his head, Dolan reluctantly agrees to go along with it. Imagine his surprise when the female part of the threesome is the woman who's been haunting his naughty dreams...

Alrighty then, Dr. Tracy may be just as kinky as Dolan! But to be fair, this ménage between her old friend Rowdy and (big surprise!) the guy she is secretly lusting after will just be a fulfillment of a long held fantasy for her. She's an ultra-serious career woman with a big, secret responsibility to take care of now, and this little sexual interlude is the last chance for her to let her hair down and explore her wild side (which she never got to do with her uptight ex). And so what if Rowdy and the sexy Dolan totally rock her world? Nothing could ever come of it...right?

As expected, there were some very hot ménage scenes in this book! We're talkin' smokin'. And they were very well done, but not 'over done'. Nothing icky, demeaning, or gross. Maybe even more hot and satisfying were the scenes between Dolan and Tracy alone (in the barn, in the hay!) together--these two were clearly forging a connection, and it wasn't all sexual. I liked that they had a connection that went beyond the intense physical chemistry--besides their career paths, they had similar heartbreaks in their pasts that made it believable that they could become a couple--they had more in common than just the sex.

Of course, what's a romance without a couple of misunderstandings and secrets? There was the obligatory misunderstanding which highlighted that maybe Tracy and Dolan, as good as they were together, needed to work on their trust issues. And of course Tracy's 'big secret', that for some reason she thought would put the kibosh on their future together that had me thinking "just talk to him, why don't you?" Naturally, all the issues got resolved once Tracy's life becomes endangered--isn't it funny that's what is always a catalyst to get them talking in romances? Put the hero or heroine's life in jeopardy and then they'll spill their guts.:)

So, despite the bit of predictability, I did enjoy this one. It served its purpose, which was to entertain me. I liked the characters well enough, the love scenes were of the five-alarm fire variety, the plot was pretty straight forward and developed, and MM has me very curious about the character of Rowdy--I'm hoping he gets a story of his own one day. 4 stars

Warning: This book contains explicit language and sex (including oral and anal), light bondage involving some horse paraphernalia, and a couple of m/f/m ménage scenes. Not for the faint of heart.

From Samhain Publishing:

Marking one’s territory was never so naughty…

Wild Oats, Book 2

Dolan Crane would love to hate the beautiful new veterinarian who’s horning in on his territory. It’s tough when the flame-haired fantasy come true makes his body burn with just a smile. The smart thing to do is forget about her, so perhaps a threesome arranged by his old college buddy is just what he needs to get her out of his head.

Divorcee Tracy Marx has followed her restless feet to Santa Ysabel to start a new practice—and maybe find someone to take her outside the boundaries of vanilla sex. Instead she finds trouble in the form of a cowboy whose dark, sexy gaze lights her up—and could also destroy any chance of success. The best thing to do is stay far, far away from him.

When Dolan shows up for the promised night of fantasy, he’s shocked to find Tracy has traded her medical bag for a leather bustier and bondage gear. Tracy would like nothing better than to slap that smirk right off Dolan’s face, but the prospect of being sandwiched between two men is impossible to resist—even if one of them is her adversary.

Besides…no one calls her chicken.

My review:

Take Me Again is book two in the Wild Oats series. Take me is the first in the series which I, haven't yet read (but will). I've heard that Take Me Again can stand on its own though.

Dolan Crane is a very hot alpha male. All females love him. This is a good book. Lots of hot sex. A lot of sizzling chemistry between Dolan and Tracy. I have to say, I was just as taken as the rest.

The story explores the erotic pleasures of a threesome. Some may say it was tastefully done while others will say it was somewhat tame. I think it was well written, period.

Although this book contains great sex, it is also a story with depth. The characters interact and relate well to to one another.

I didn't put the book down until I finished reading it at 3 a.m.

It’s definitely a book I enjoyed reading. I recommend it to those that enjoy a book with a good amount of steamy sex and a good story in general.

Great book! It was easy to hate Dolan at the beginning of the book, but I eventually fell in love with him just as Tracy did.

Dolan is the town vet. Tracy arrives, also a vet, and the competition begins. However, there wasn't as much conflict over their careers as I'd have liked. But, the solution to the problem I did like! It was unique and different, and Dr. Zimmerman's character made it believable. There were other conflicts between Dolan and Tracy that kept me on my toes, and kept the ride going. One such conflict finally gets to Dolan and he realizes just how bad he's messed up with Tracy, leading us to the happy ending! There is a little more crude language in this story than in others that I've read recently. The same story, including the hot scenes, could have been told without the usage of that language. That's my only complaint!
Overall, I loved the story, and there was just the right amount of fun/smut! I look forward to others by this author!

This was one smoking hot story. Very naughty, down and dirty sex. I liked the overall story of 2 vet's trying to work together and not get too territorial. The hero got on my nerves some by being so up and down with his feelings. First he hates her, then he wants to share her, then he wants her only for himself. Around and around he went so the poor heroine didn't know what to think. At the end he was a little too bossy for me. I want a story about the 3rd in the threesome. Rowdy seemed like a great guy who needs a HEA.

When Tracy Marx arrives in Santa Ysabel, veterinarian Dolan Crane knows the sexy redhead is everything he’s ever wanted. There’s only one problem – the fiery Dr. Marx is Dolan’s competition. Dolan knows he’s got to forget about her, which is easier said than done. So when his friend Rowdy says he’s lined up a date with a woman who has a fantasy of being with two men, Dolan takes it as an opportunity to get Tracy off his mind.

A divorcée set on establishing her practice in Santa Ysabel, Tracy can’t afford any distractions, especially one as irritatingly sexy as Dolan. But when her friend Rowdy offers to fulfill her deepest fantasy, a ménage à trois, Tracy can’t resist. When Tracy and Dolan find out what Rowdy’s done, things really start to heat up. And a night of passion is only the beginning…

Mackenzie McKade turns up the heat to a scorching degree in the irresistible Take Me Again. From start to finish, it’s an engaging, sexy tale with characters who are sure to delight. I fell in love with Dolan in Ms. McKade’s Take Me, when Dolan participated in a red-hot ménage with Cait and Cord (who also appear in Take Me Again). Dolan’s innate sex appeal, his protectiveness, tenderness, and possessiveness (in the good sense of the word) of Tracy made him an utterly delicious hero. Tracy, for her part, is smart, capable, lovely, and tough. In other words, she’s the perfect heroine for Dolan and I couldn’t help but adore her. I loved seeing these two, both somewhat wary of falling in love, be unable to resist one another. As for Rowdy, the third member of the ménage, I dearly hope Ms. McKade has this wicked cowboy meet his match one day.

Ms. McKade never fails to pen a sensual, wonderful story and Take Me Again is no exception. I loved it and look forward to reading more books by the talented Ms. McKade.

Take Me Again is even better than the first Wild Oats book, Take Me. The romance part of the story is more touching and has more layers. As a veterinarian Dolan doesn’t want Tracy around, because she’s working on his territory and she could become serious competition. But as a man he definitely wants this beautiful redheaded woman around. He feels very attracted and connected to her. When his friend arranges a threesome with her he takes his chance to be at least this one night with her. But one night isn’t enough and in a short period of time the two become very attached to each other. They don’t take much time to talk, they tend to get physical all the time, so secrets and issues start to become a problem.

I think this part of the story was very well written about. Because of the changes of point of view between Dolan and Tracy, their feelings and thoughts came alive and this made the events and the doubts and insecurities of the protagonists very believable. Besides that, Dolan is easy to love: his caring and sensitive side, his jealousy, his way with the little boy and his hotness make him very adorable and attractive. Tracy is also a woman of my heart: fun, independent, sweet, caring and straight forward about what she wants. The both of them are a perfect match. What was also great about this novel was the presence of a nice network of family and friends. Mackenzie McKade did a great job with spinning a good setting and background for this steamy hot romance!

Well, this was some serious insta-love. The backbone of the story was ok, nothing original or amazing, but it was ok. And the writing was good enough, no complaints there really. But the plot just didn't work for me. That instant, forever and ever, stuff just fucking bugs me! I can't stand books where within days their relationship is instantly at least 5 years deep. Where after a few days of knowing each other suddenly they know without a doubt that they're the ones and are married with children within minutes. Fucking, pah-lease! WHY is that necessary in these romances? Why is it 'unromantic' to have a story where two people have that instant attraction and obsession, but actually take some time to get to know each other, and court each other? Why is it so uncool to write about people getting to know and explore one another??????! I'd MUCH rather read about the interaction and building attraction/love of two people, and their banter and sexual play, than reading about slam-ban-i-do-priest man. I fucking hate instant-love books!!!!!!!!!!!!! Lord deliver me from fucking lame!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hadn't realized that I had read the first in the series until I started reading this one. The first one is in the anthology, Sins of Summer, which I had read two of three stories and put down. I had forgotten about it though it was the better of the two. Still this one was better. Perhaps because it was long?

Although feelings got over blown too fast, as usual with novellas, the relationship and the changing of the relationship from adversary to lovers was quite fun. This is a real steamy one. I really like Dolan at the end, though I liked him at the beginning too. He was the second in the threesome from the 1st story. I'll have to a re-read if I still have the anthology. Quick sexy read.

i did not dig the style of writing. at all. overall the entire read was less than thrilling. even the scenes with the three of them were just cold. the characters pretty much behaved like fourteen year olds. their hormones and moods were all over the place. grown men throwing tantrums doesn't really do it for me. the only one that was the least bit interesting was Rowdy, and he got little page time where he wasn't naked and sweating. i assume that was a set up for another book. i don't the teasing was enough to hook me into reading it.

This was an interesting read, due to the fact it's story line pushes the ménage a trois but it's a very reluctant one to start with. They weren't really sharing her they were sort of fighting over her like a piece of meat, I've read more endearing versions than that, considering these two Dolan and Rowdy, have worked together before, it kind of seemed almost wrong at times. Dolan was hot though......Rowdy must have his own story, right, I must check on this.

4 "Surprisingly good" stars

I started this one as a light read with no hopes and expectations. And surprisingly it turned it to be more than "just an erotic romance with love scenes thrown here and there and couple of menages".

It had an in depth story and character development. Bottom line: I liked it.
Hell..I loved it. Will definitely think about continuing the story.

This book has its flaws and what not, but to me it’s nostalgic since it’s the first “naughty” book I read in my teenage years. I remember blushing and being bashful while reading the “naughty” scenes in my innocence, which is not the case anymore. So now whenever I reread it, I’m just happy and content due to the nostalgia, and blind to any flaws.

It was ok, the story line was interesting everything happened so fast. It seemed like all in the span of like 2 weeks or something. You start to feel kind of bad for Rowdy but its understood I'm assuming he gets the next book?

They met. They came (in a threesome). They got hitched.

Very adult and nothing for shrinking violets out there.

I like it when there is a man's point of view in a book. I am just in awe of their emotions. It's sort of different.

Let's read peeps! :)
