Five thousand years ago, he tried to rule the civilized world. Now, he’s the only one who can save it.
Once upon a time, Menkhef stood up to a powerful pharaoh, and lost. That’s a poor track record for someone acting as the lynchpin in an imminent supernatural war.
Humanity is caught between an absent Angel and a vengeful Demon. The Council of Thirteen still lacks its final two members, and Menkhef—better known to his friends as Snag—is the only vampire whose mate has not returned. Holed up in an underground tomb complex beneath the oldest pyramid in Egypt, he and his comrades must watch as Bael’s forces gather in preparation for the final battle.
Menkhef only has two secrets left. One will overturn the lives of an unsuspecting American couple. The other will change the entire landscape of the clash for humanity’s future.
In the war between love and hate— Death is not the end.

The Circle of Blood Series
In another lifetime, six vampires lost their mates—and their mortality—to an unimaginable evil power. Now, if they can’t reunite with the reincarnated souls of their lost loves soon, it may just mean the end of the world.
From USA Today bestselling author R. A. Steffan and fresh new voice Jaelynn Woolf comes a steamy paranormal romance series perfect for adult fans of vampire fiction. Crack open Circle of Blood Book Lovers' Victory today, and discover the heart-stopping conclusion to a journey that explores the power of love in a world gone mad with hate.
USA Today bestselling author R. A. Steffan lives in New Mexico, where the sunsets paint the mountains purple, and roadrunners roam the desert endlessly in search of their coyote victims. When she’s not busy writing stories about people loving each other in all sorts of different and interesting ways, she can be found taking care of her small menagerie of critters.
A rebel to the core, she is currently sticking it to the man by illegally harvesting graywater from the kitchen and bathroom sinks to water trees outside. This fearless disregard for societal norms extends to her writing, as well. There, you will find polyamory along with straight, gay, bisexual, and non-gender conforming love of all flavors. You will also find families of choice, profound friendships, adventure, danger, and good triumphing over evil.
That, and sex. Lots of sex. Most of which is not the vanilla variety.
Snag's story. I was waiting for this one in particular because I'd made a joke to the author that his love interest had to be a dentist. Obviously. That amused her enough that she and her co-author used that in the story. Yay!
As for the story itself, we meet Snag's... that is Menkhef's... love interests. The authors did a bait and switch because for a few books we thought the 13th vampire on the council of 13 might have been the child, but it wasn't. Back in ancient Egypt, Menkhef had a beautiful bride and a very close male friend who also loved his wife. Because Menkhef was sterile, his best friend became the father of his children. That is somewhat spoilery, but when we meet married couple Amy and Elijah, we figure out after a while that there is something joining them all three of them together.
As for the battle to defeat the evil, it happens in a way that both makes sense but isn't as action-filled as some readers might be expecting. This might be a disappointment to those who really wanted some terrific battles on the page.
As for terrific battles of a more sexual nature, this book treats the poly triangle as MFM, at least on the page. This, too, has its own pragmatic logic as most of the series features MF couples. I understand why it's the way it is, but considering that Steffan can write queer characters both graphically and well, I miss that full expression here. (In other words, it's here, but toned down for audiences not used to reading such things.)
If you've been reading along, don't miss this ending. If you like vampire stories, reincarnation, lost loves, and battles of good and evil, this entire series is your playground. Go back to book 1 and give it a try.
I really enjoyed this series and this book proves to be just as good as the rest, if not better because after five books we finally find out the fate of our favourite vampires. The group had been so much fun getting to know and each story is so interesting that they are all worth a listen to, the way true love can stand the test of time and betrayal. It is sad it has come to an end. Snag the oldest and most powerful vampire is still to find his soul mate but as the demon Bael's army is amassing out side the Egyptian pyramid time is running out. Snag will have to let go of his final secrets and face the truth about his past. With people flooding the area looking for answers will Snag's soul mate find him in time before time runs out. Six vampires and there soul mates are all that stand in the way of the end of the world as we know it. Gwendolyn Druyor is one of my favourite narrator's and she never puts in a bad performance, she gives each story her all and it is easy to hear. Each character gets there own distinctive voice but I just love her English voice for Xander.
I really am not going to say much about this story, since Snags was the last to tell. I personally was excited for this one, thought being the oldest there would be more to tell.
We follow Amy and Elijah, on what seems to be a last ditch effort to keep their marriage going. POV's are from all three, but mostly Amy and Elijah.
I found that this last installment flowed well, with a pretty straightforward plot that you can see coming. The overall plot line comes to its conclusion, in a rather anti climatic way. I was expecting so much more from Menkhef's story, but it was rather underwhelming, rushed almost.
Overall, I was disappointed, but other readers may feel differently. It was satisfactory and answered any lingering questions from all six books.
I really didn't want this series to end. I'm glad things worked out the way they did. This author has a way of keeping you glued to the pages as you're flipping them. And especially keeping you guessing as 'I didn't see that coming' vibe. The writing is clean and well written
Yeah this book ended how it should! I have it a 5 because i couldnt gove it a ten this series has been awesome and im so glad snags book os set up the way it is. You will just have to read to understand i cant give anything away just that its soo worth the read!!!
Bit of a bland end to the series. I was looking forward to Snags story the most but it let me down a lot. The romance was a let down along with the baby side plot (what the hell?) and I felt the two new characters didn't mesh well with the world.
The end battle was a let down and I can't believe we had 6 books of tension only for it to end in 5 pages.
Snag is my absolute favorite, I do looked forward to this book and was not disappointed. These Authors must have so much fun writing together. Love the whole series
Once you read the first book of this series, you will have to read them all! What a great adventure between light & dark and good and evil! Great writing R.A. Steffan !
This is the perfect end to the series. All questions about snag and the counsel of 13 are answered here. Who knew snag had it in him to be a hot sexy Egyptian lover. Lol. I couldn't put this book or the series down.
The last book. I enjoyed Snags story, I only wish that there had been more, more to his story and more to the big ending. So much build up and boom the world was saved. It felt too easy.
Great series. Cool characters. Snag is a little creepy, but he is 4,000 years old and the most powerful of the group. Unexpected ending. I do wish the epilogue has said what Tre and Della are doing. Sorry to hear Madame Francine was killed.

It's Snag turn to tell his story in this last book in the Circle of Blood series!! We trip between the past and the present to witness our silent vampire as Menkhef, a vizir in Ancient Egypt. The weaving between memories and present time are done flawlessly; depicting such rich detail in those memories that you feel yourself back in Egypt, enjoying deliciously sinful nights with Menkhef, his wife and his guard and best friend. The threesomes scenes are exquisite, both in the past and the present. We discovered that our dear Snag don't have one soulmate but two: Amy and Elijah, a married couple that's in the divorce point until they meet the Egyptian vampire. Plus it's awfully hilarious that the one second guessing their polyamorous relationship is Amy and not Elijah. Lover's Victory is the first installment in the series which tones down the darkness to give way for beautiful MFM romance filled of light.
