Part of literature unit:

Ever wonder what has been left at a crime scene? This book provides simple activities that allow the reader to recreate crime scenes and pretend to investigate them as a detective. From searching for fingerprints to determining a mystery substance, students would have fun studying the science of detective work through the projects listed in the book. Each project begins with a short description of what the project is and why it is important to detective work. A list of needed materials and step-by-step procedure follows for the try-it-yourself activity and concludes with an explanation. Ideas for further investigations on the topic are included in shaded boxes within the project descriptions. I would recommend this book for children 9-12.
