The A to Z of Opera

The Naxos A to Z of Opera reflects the ever-growing Naxos catalogue of recordings, ranging from Monteverdi to the contemporary. The A to Z provides a wide range of information on operas and their composers. The main section of the A to Z lists operas by title and includes, where possible, brief summaries of the plot and, for more important works, lists of characters. This is followed by a section devoted to composers and a final glossary of common musical terms. While the A to Z cannot include every opera, it does devote some space to operatic rarities as well as to standard repertoire.

Also featured are lists of available Naxos, Marco Polo and Da Capo opera recordings, whether of complete operas or of excerpts.
