Heiress of Sun and Blood

Rate this book
Throne of Glass meets A Touch of Darkness in this New Adult Assassin Fantasy Romance.

Leave no trace. That's the #1 rule of the Assassin's Guild in Quadrania, and 19-year-old Melia Itea knows it well. Too well.

The most lethal member of the Guild, she has a higher body count than all the other members combined. Except for the Commander. Though she's never seen his face, she hates that she has to cater to his every command. But her desire for the bloodshed and retribution of the most evil citizens in Quadrania wins out over the contempt that floods her veins.

But when the Commander tells her that someone has anonymously requested the death of the Winter Solstice King, Melia starts to question everything the Guild stands for - especially when the Commander informs her that a member of the Summer Solstice kingdom - her kingdom - is likely the culprit. As Melia dives deeper into her search for the offender, she begins to uncover conspiracies and plots that lead her to believe she may have had good reasons to hate and fear the Commander all along. And when her brother is given cause to become as bloodthirsty as she is, Melia must decide if she will follow the Commander's orders or let herself fall prey to a greater threat than she could ever have imagined.

Leave no trace.

Heiress of Sun and Blood is a fast-paced story that centers around a stubborn princess and an angsty, gruff man. Readers who love slow-burn romances with plenty of tension and multiple love interests will adore this first book in the Assassins of Quadrania series.

Oh what a fantastic read!!

This book deserves so much love! The writing was so perfect, the characters complex and likeable. There's a deep sense of mystery and overall a satisfying arc from start to the end!

We get all information through just one POV and the author never cheats as a part of dream sequences or eavesdropping, to give information that the main character wouldn't have. That creates a very nice intrigue in the story.

Whatever the FMC is sure/unsure about, so are we as the readers. I found that very refreshing. I was totally on my toes with this unputdownable book!

I can't wait to get into the next one and see where this epic story concludes!

This book has everything I love about fantasy, action, mystery and a constant fear of betrayal and a trust no one vibe about it. The romance/spice is a bonus!

This book is action packed out the gate. Then we’re abandoned and left on the cliffhanger that has us scrambling to get our hands on book 2… ahhh. The sibling element of this book I loved. I love the fierce protector Melia is towards Adrian. Let’s talk about Summer and her fierceness as a member of the Guild. She’s a beast. There are a few scenes that were quite horrific to read through the level of gore and detail I was not prepared for.

This book had a why-choose type of air about it. I loved the cat and mouse game between Melia and Ber. What’s not to love about a tall silver haired-Fae with a mystery about him were all dying for the reveal. Let’s not pass up the draw to the commander though. Like Sir, why do I feel like when you are finally revealed, I’m going to be pissed? I have an idea of who I think he is but not 100% sure. Let’s not forget about Ash, he’s broody, pushy and a walking red flag but why is that so incredibly hottt?

Twists, turns, betrayal and devastation this book was a ride and a must read. I can’t wait to hear how Melia’s story continues in book 2.
