After several books, we now have Emma back in the picture, so mystery solved. I don’t have anything against her character (and I know how much she enriches both Jesse and Gideon), but I really do love the interaction and relationship between Jesse and Gideon so much more. Oh, and the other thing that’s great about this particular story? Revenge is a bitch (and can be oh so rewarding).

Final book! I'm not so sad since it's became a little repetitive toward the last couple of books.

Again, extremely uncomfortable punishment (or lesson as named by Gideon) scene. I was warned for blood and violence but since it's the same for all the previous (hello, Master and vampire here!) books, I took the warning lightly. Hooo, the error. I find that I really don't like masochistic scene. I end up skipping almost all the scene. Even, taking in consideration that Jesse love pain and that he is 'immortal' and that they 'need' the lesson, I didn't like the method used by Gideon. As I said in the previous book, he had to do some thinking about HIS responsibility and the extreme he want to go.

They seems to continually have to redefine their relation. I know that it's normal to have some problems here and there and that the circumstance do not help them but in the long run that became redundant for the reader. Since I read the ten books in one go I think that's why.

The finale battle was really intense and exactly what we might wish. The nemesis suffered enough to satisfy my inner sadist (Ho yeah, take that bitch!). Jesse was really awesome and I'm impress with the progress I see him do in all the books.

At the end we see a trio that work, is solid and not afraid of what life can throw at them. Each of them have different strengths, weaknesses and insecurity that was well used in the different books.

Some lacuna (vampire aspect not enough explain, lack of difference between the sixties and this days, lack of background, some explication that remain doubtful) do not make it an excellent series but it's have too much positive aspect to complain too hard.

It's my hubby that buy me this series for Christmas ans now he have some new points in bank lolll. Have to thank him!
