Yuuya Tenjou was proposed to by a princess and invited to a castle in another world, but back in the real world, his new life at Ousei Academy is only just beginning. Watching him dominate in studies, sports, and everything else as if he has cheats turned on, his classmates' eyes start to fill with blazing envy!
I know I liked the first book, but this volume reaches the part of the "overpowered main character gets a harem" story where things get particularly ridiculous. Like, his entire school is gaga over him, just for being new and existing (and apparently wildly, universally attractive), only for that admiration to skyrocket when they see him do ABSURD things like return a stray soccer ball by kicking it into the opposite goal, FROM THE STANDS, while ALSO protecting a girl who tripped...
...or jump from the FOURTH FLOOR to go stop a gang singlehandedly...
...though the main reason I took off a star is that the main girls (from the "real" world) have to go to the LOCKER ROOM so they can be TOPLESS while they talk about him. I mean, it's already kind of annoying that the Main Love Interest in all of these kinds of stories have the exact same body type (which is to say, hourglass with at LEAST D cups). It's like they're hitting one specific demographic each time and just changing out names and colours!
I mean, besides his awkwardness and impostor syndrome, Yuuya really only has his kindness to set him apart from ALL THE OTHER "overpowered main character gets a harem" characters. I don't mean Nice Guy—*actually* kind, in the sense of "my abusive brother and sister sent a gang to my school to make trouble, but they turned on my brother and threatened his life, so I saved him, because he's still family" kind. That's probably the only redeeming thing about this series, ESPECIALLY if the anime follows the manga religiously (stupid times ahead!).
I'll probably read this series at least through where the anime stopped, but while the manga has charms the anime didn't capture, I doubt I'd keep it on my shelf forever, no matter HOW cute Night is. :)
In this exciting adventure of "Yuuya's New Life" we stay mostly in the real world with Yuuya unintentionally but inevitably becoming the center of attention at his new school for multiple acts of heroism and also because his new fangirls recognized him from the magazine. Also he goes on a date-that's-not-a-date and gets a new "puppy".
Not the most exciting bit in the story and Yuuya is still his oblivious potato self, but he's learning to view himself in a different light, both by how others see him and by how he sees himself. Baby steps.
Fell good reading that makes you hopeful that there would be someone like this
Great story of someone who been bullied most of his life then gets a second chance at life but doesn't let his new abilities change his way of looking atlife
I love how it's hooked me and keeps me interested in what is happening. He's so innocent and naive, it makes me laugh. The way he lives with his heart as his guide is amazing.
The beginning was interesting in watching the character develop into the super powered form. However, the rest started to get slow n kinda predictable which brings down the plot n I'm reality bores
I do enjoy the extra scenes that have been been created that add to the story. It's the best thing about a series that has a light novel, manga, and anime.
