If you are like me, "The Ghost Story Junkie", and you like a story that will scare you out of your mind...just go to Amazon and with one click you can be scared to your heart's content. At first, it's a little hard to tell if the events that are happening are in "real" time, or if they are the events that are transpiring when Declan is reading the black journal...by the time Declan reads the second story, it becomes much easier. After Declan moves into the house, he soon finds that he's found a lot more than he bargained for. The entire story is full of eerie happenings and unexplained, goose-bump producing happenings. I loved this line from the book ..."Something isn’t quite right with this quiet little house in the woods…..but the coffee is great!" It's just one of those books you have to read in one sitting.

This was a really good story with a well thought out plot and utterly believable characters. Certain individuals are drawn to a house that shouldn't exist and once inside they act out their innermost fears with an exaggerated sense of depravity. No ghosts or demons but, the house itself is a battleground for good and evil, something inter-dimensional perhaps? The never ending book that tells everyone's story but once read lays claim to the reader's soul. A fascinating tale and a real page turner.

Well I can say that this book didn’t do what I thought it was going to! At 5 hours long I knocked it out in a day. Declan has just moved into a new house and is waiting for his wife and son to arrive. He starts seeing and hearing weird things that aren’t there. Then he finds a book with his name on it and is pulled into the stories within. The house is sinister and picks people to call to to do its murderous biddings.
This book started with too many mundane details and I wasn’t sure if I was going to finish it. But as soon as he starts reading the stories in the book the pace picked up and things got pretty dark!

There are bad houses an then there are BAD houses, this one is the latter!
Several unsuspecting characters are drawn to this remote farmhouse that is situated in an otherwise idyllic and tranquil setting.
On the surface, it is the perfect place to settle, or so Declan Scheider thinks when he arrives at the property he bought and waits for his wife and son to arrive soon after.
However, strange discoveries are made where previous occupants have been in the house and it's not long before the lines between what's real and what isn't become blurred.
All the characters were well written and this book was so addictive from the get go. The opening scene is executed well where instantly, your head is filled with questions that demand answers and you just keep turning pages until you get them.
With brilliant multiple twists towards the end I found the book very satisfying where nothing is as it seems and when you put the pieces together, you realise how cleverly written it was.
I liked the cameo appearance from a specific character from Michael's universe and if you haven't read this book yet I would urge you to pick it up, just set aside some quiet time when you can't be disturbed because I guarantee you'll fly through it!
It's five stars from me 😀

Given how slow this book starts, I was totally convinced I was going to hate it. I stuck it out and I'm glad I did. While nothing in the story is all that shocking, it does get enjoyable midway in and the last quarter of the book makes putting up with the slow start totally worth it.

We follow the story of Declan, a struggling writer about to move his family into their new home. He comes across a mysterious book while exploring the old house and we join him as he's immersed into the stories within. But are they just stories?
This novel is a must-read for anyone who loves thrillers, horror, and stories of paranormal suspense. I borrowed it from Kindle Unlimited but it may need to become a part of my permanent collection.
Relatable, deep characters wind our way through the fully detailed landscape of The End House and the grounds beyond. I stayed up way too late trying to finish this one and the last third of the book had me turning pages faster and faster because I NEEDED to know what happened. I needed to know the truth and it kept me so perfectly engrossed and on the edge.
The only minor 'flaw' if you can call it that is that I wanted more! I wanted more stories, more love, more history... more coffee while seated at the kitchen table of The End House.

I’ll come back to give a full review, but He should really stop trying to write as young college students or as a woman. It completely ruined the entire story having to choke through the infantile and odd manor that he thinks young people interact? The women all acted either like 11 year old girls or women in their fifties. Leave the young adult section to the professionals. The character development between the “disadvantaged “ brothers was also hard to swallow. The premise of the story was great, the execution not so much. I love a good spooky story about a haunted object entertwining people, so I was pretty disappointed that this wasn’t as original or very well executed as I thought it would be based on the reviews, it was like nails on chalkboard trying to finish it, especially since it really did start out good.

You know what.....? I'm not 100% sure what I've just read! The reason for the 3 stars is because honestly I can't decide if I loved it or hated it. My mind changed so many times with what I thought I was reading and honestly I think I might have upped the stars if there hadn't been the weird 'LandLORDS' interlude towards the end of the book. Without that part this could have been a really good 'spooky' house story. Something kept me reading to the end though. I think the way to sum up feelings having read this book is 'confusion'. What did I just read? Was it good? Did I 'get' it? Honestly.... I have no idea. Think I need to read a good murder mystery next to normalise my brain 🤣

At first I was annoyed with the way this book went from the main character’s story, Declan who just moved in to the handwritten story by Ivan that Declan finds in a strange journal type book with a black cover. Fortunately I kept with it and read on. When Declan finishes a second story in the book, “Willow”, we start to get a a clue… foreshadowing and allusions begin to pop up in Declan’s day and I’m Willow’s words. Something isn’t quite right with this quiet little house in the woods…..but the coffee is great!

The End House summary was an enticing build up, a grab my attention summary. Halfway through The End House, I was wishing it would end. There were a couple of intense portions, but I never fully grasped what started the issues with this particular house. The book covers three different encounters with this house, and each encounter ended badly. And coffee. Were there hallucinogens in the instant coffee?

Rather than being derivative, the slightly off, somewhat familiar characters in each story-within-the-story add their own levels that enrich without needing exposition, and within the bare and chilly walls of the house that holds all these secrets and a tin of deliciously poisonous galaxy blend, you may find yourself compulsively reading 'til your eyes force drop. I did.

The beginning has a slow start. I really thought about not continuing this book, but I'm so glad I pushed through. It's a story within a story, which was so unbelievably clever and in my opinion, so well written I was fully engrossed in the drama, suspense, and fully needing to know what was going to happen. The human capacity for evil is not surprising but still mind blowing when it happens. "You never think it will happen to you, until it does."
From the very beginning, I knew that ending was coming...but I'm telling you, I really think there's something about that coffee.

The story follows Declan Scheider, his wife and infant son who are moving to a new home that is secluded and out of the way. He drives the U-Haul alone in hopes of getting things unpacked to make it easier for his wife unfortunately things start to happen. He starts seeing things and smelling things that aren't there. He feels like there is someone else there too. He finds an old book and starts reading it. The story is a strange tale that doesn't have a happy ending. A little later he picks up the book again and it is telling a different story. All dealing with his new home.
I enjoyed this book.... it definitely kept you wondering what was next.

Interesting
I went back and forth on whether I was invested or I felt like I’ve been here before. But, the author did take an interesting turn and I ended up invested. As I read the first half I thought this book was the author’s way of telling short stories (which I’m less fond of) but it comes together in the end. I’m sure going to think twice before following the smell of coffee for sure ;)

Creepy!
I loved every book in the Lance Brody series and was really looking forward to this book. I kept reading trying to make sense of it but found myself quickly becoming bored. I guess it seemed to feel disjointed and just wasn’t what I had hoped for. The story was definitely creepy!

Excellent twist and turns
What a story! This one you will never figure out. You won't figure out the ending. I didn't and I am putting good at figuring an ending out. This is a very scary book. You will differently enjoy the scary twist and turns. Just when you think it's over, here comes another turn. Great story. Great imagination.

Not at all what I expected, but exactly what I needed
I thought I had it figured out, and I did. I recognized the end's twist immediately, which is probably due to me being an editor. What I didn't see coming was the journey, the unexpected characters, the pain and the guilt and the harshness of the evil gripping this farmhouse. It was superbly woven. Fantastic storytelling.

I read this as a audiobook and I really enjoyed it. This book is haunted house to the next level. I normally don’t like when a book jumps around in timelines but I think this was nicely done and I was able to follow along with ease. I did guess the ending but how can you not after listening to the other stories. Well done 👏🏽

This book was incredibly boring! First, I hate books that jump from one character to another. Secondly, so many of the scenes were repetitious. I could barely wait to finish it! Not my favorite book at all!!!

Love Michael's work
The characters seem very real. Plot twists kept me guessing what was happening. The ending feels like the work the horror masters. Additionally I have read all the Lance Brody books and recommend them.

couldn’t out this book down!
Stories within stories which tie back to the present keep the reader turning the pages. There isn’t a dull moment or a wasted page! The ending is very satisfying!
