Law enforcement has never really been my cup of tea -- especially since I hacked the FBI when I was only a teenager.
That all changes the moment I see Marley. She’s the deputy in the small snowy town I just moved to, and I can’t get enough of her. So much so that I lure her out to my place every chance I get.
This time though I do it ahead of a monster snowstorm.
In a very mysterious and has-nothing-to-do-with-me turn of events, her tires end up slashed, so now she has to ride out the storm in my warm, cozy house.
I have all her favorite things, and I intend to tempt her right into my bed. But when she finds out the lengths I’ve gone to just to get her in my grasp, will she decide I deserve coal in my stocking instead of the gift of her love?
Gotta love a man who doesn't get it past him to be a stalker, posessive one at that. Saint is a genius. At the age of 17 years he was recruited by the FBI for his hacking skills. He moved on later to open his own security firm and only does random jobs with the FBI but after making sure to charge them a ton of money. 😄 (Good boy 💅) He's a nerd, an introvert and far from being a social butterfly. Everything that Marley isn't.
Marley is a sweet woman with a heart of gold. So much so that she has been appointed deputy sheriff and is only sent to those calls that require patience, sweetness and a good head on your shoulder.
Saint sees Marley and is instantly obsessed. She's everything he never knew he needed. He stalks her physically and cyberly and goes as far as planting a tracker in her car and eavesdropping on her patrol car radio 😄
His little scheming pays off and gets her to himself stranded in his house for a few days on Christmas. Love declarations happen. Physical exploration takes place and a HEA is guaranteed.
A sweet short novella with no ow/m drama. Pure love. And lots of orgasms and happiness.
A quick lovely BR with my partner in crime, Lori 🌺
This was a cute, over-the-top holiday novella. Obviously the hero's actions would be very wrong in a realistic romance, but they're fine in an intentionally OTT one.
This was my first read by Lucy Darling. I'm excited to see what else she's written.
I sometimes make fun of my mom (affectionally) because she loves to listen to Christmas music in July. I have noticed, however, that I read lots of holiday reads OUTSIDE of the holiday season. Have I become my mom? Not too bad a fate she is awesome BUT does that mean I can no longer make fun of her ChristmasxSummer fiestas?
😐
I will just not tell anyone… haha.
Anyways, the guy on the cover was not at all the way I pictured the H. In the book, he is described as grumpy, reclusive, strong arms and a height that made even the big foot cower (mmmkay I may be exaggerating a bit but it is for dramatic telling). I envisioned him with dark hair and smile lines - even a beard! Not fresh faced youth (even if he was rather young by my calculations… and if I’m wrong don’t come at me; I’m not wonderful at math).
The h was a dear. She was into the weird stuff the hero did to get her to stay with him (which is a win for her? Haha).
Steamy cute. Would recommend.

Plot : 1.5 📚💫 Sprinkled around. The H’s google searches probably is comprised of “reason to call the pretty deputy to my house without needing to commit a felony”.
World Building(Immersion): 2 🌎🌎 Dipped half my body.
Angst : ❎ No angst.
Funniness: 1.5 🌝💫 Amused.
Scariness: ❎ Not scary. You need to look at slashing tires as a romantic move instead of a disquieting act.

Sadness: ❎ No sadness.

Some ( Very Random) Moments of Notice Along With (Sometimes) My Very Live Reactions Straight From My Notes App to You:
📌but still I pull the knife out and stab the back tire of her vehicle, guaranteeing she won’t be able to leave.
Huh 👁️👄👁️
📌Oh thank goodness! Bear.” She drops to her knees, wrapping her arms around him. “You need to keep your butt inside.” She buries her face in his neck, hugging him tighter before kissing him on the head. A pang of jealousy hits me at the affection she’s showing Bear. Maybe he won’t be getting that bone after all. “I guess I’m done here?” It sounds more like a question.
Oy, a little irrational to feel jealous of a dog.
📌She has a rare sweetness that I want all for myself. I should let her go, but I can’t. I want her more than my next breath. She needs someone to protect her from all the other assholes out there.
📌“I got you this for Christmas.” “All I need is you.” “You’re going to need this.” I hold it out for him. “A coupon?” He asks as he turns it over. “One get out of jail free card.” “Merry Christmas.” I grab the front of his shirt, pulling him down to kiss me.

🎄Their Snowy Night de Lucy Darling ✨
Argumento:
So adorable!!! I loved how grumpy the hero was and his attempts to get the cute deputy to his house, making up reasons to have her sent out. I LOOOVED how OTT he was—dude literally slashes her tires to keep her with him!! YASSSSSS, please!!! I love a hero who doesn’t let anything stand in his way!
I also loved that he was a stalker, hacking into her social media and other areas of her life to find out more about her. He was obsessed and I love an obsessed hero. The heroine was sweet as sugar and I loved it! She was the perfect sunshine to the hero’s grumpiness. She was always doing for others, compassionate and caring, but often overlooked and she needed the hero’s unwavering attention and obsession after getting lost in the shuffle.. She’s a deputy but does more like social welfare checks than patrolling or fighting bad guys.
This was a lot of fun, but also had some steam and lots of heartwarming feelz.
Totally safe. Dual virgins. No others, no cheating or sharing or abuse. HEA with epilogue years out and kids.
Plot: Saint has had a thing for Marley since he moved to town. The sweet deputy goes out on welfare checks quite often (the town isn't really a hotbed of crime), but Saint calls in most of those calls so she'll come out to his cabin where he can see her. Marley hasn't quite figured that out yet, but she will soon!
Commentary: Here we have a well-meaning alpha-like character who is just a little stalkerish (although he has her come to him rather than him slinking after her). He did everything he could to make sure she would stay with him (I hope he replaced those tires he slashed!). Everything except just ask her out like a normal person. Still, cute story with a sweet happy ending.
I didn't care for the book from the first chapter. The MMC was so possessive and cringey. I get the whole alpha facade but this went so far beyond that. He was pretty much a stalker and manipulator. His intentions were sweet but that still didn't win me over. I liked the FMC and her personality. She's the reason I kept reading. I thought their chemistry was just okay once they were snowed in together. The instalove aspect was obvious, given this was a novella but it was still so far fetched that it kind of ruined the entire book for me. It is what it is.
“what’s the use of being a good hacker if you can’t use it to your benefit?” - Saint.
🕵🏻♂️ Saint Brooks - a former teenager hacker caught and forced to assist the FBI for five years, now retired and owner of a lucrative security firm. Not being a real big people person (at all!) he buys a vacation house in the mountains to escape to and relax.
👮🏼♀️ Marley Hudson - newest deputy in the small middle-of-nowhere mountain town, is pure sunshine (so sweet, she’s only sent out on social visit calls), loves the tree-shaped Reese’s PB cups and decorating for Christmas.
Saint knew the second their paths crossed a few months ago, that he was a goner and immediately fell under her charming spell. He put his hacking knowledge to good use and created a plan. Thankfully a blizzard was right around the corner to lend a helping hand.
❄️ insta-love btwn a very grumpy MMC and sunshine FMC ❄️ his ott, unhinged possessiveness had me giggling ❄️ his curt manner and general rudeness to non-Marley persons had me smiling ❄️ two very confident virgins that knew what to do
“She looks so happy at this moment that I make a silent promise to myself that I will always strive to keep her that way.”
Definitely pure insta-love, not something I would want to exclusively read, but it was charming for a palate cleanser. Another fun read with my girl, Olga
Short and sweet! Lucy Darling always delivers! This love story is safe no cheating no OW/OM HEA Double Vcard for the win, yes they are both virgins and lost their virginity to each other! I loved Marley and Saint, they are each others first, one and only *happy dance*! Marley is deputy in her town and a sweetheart too sweet for her own good. Saint is hacker and does well for himself, he is a homebody and doesn't like being around people nor does he celebrate Christmas....until Marley. Bear is a fantastic wing man in this plot to trap Marley in the cabin with Saint during a blizzard. It is sweet like the pies and vanilla cake Marley makes, how Saint went about it. I will be reading this again for the Christmas season for sure!!
I have very thin patience for heroines who are supposedly "independent" and can "hold their own" but two pages into the book are already cooking a feast for a man they just recently met. I'm also not a fan of the constant bitching about any woman who is not a virgin and has boobs. We get it, Marley, you got small ti**ies and that's fine. Also, FMC says something that her dream was always to pop out babies and, I guess, that's fine but then she says something about college and all I'm thinking about is - how did this dumbass finish college and then become a fcking deputy? If you like possessive heroes, you'll probably like Saint tho.
(This story was previously published in the "Snowed Inn for Christmas Anthology", this version includes a bonus epilogue)
3.5✯
°Each other's first and only °Switching POVs °Likeable MCs °No OW/OM drama °Sweet but boring story °No separation °No cheating or scenes with OP °No condoms °Epilogue: several years later

She was able to get free of him and find herself at Haven Farms, a facility for abused women. Here she was healing and developing a relationship with Deputy Corbin Fearman. When Aaron Carpenter is released, he intends to come find Mindy. Can Corbin keep her safe?
I’m all about getting into the holiday spirit and these two did just that for me. I loved that Saint was the grumpy to Marlee’s sunshine. While very unconventional, he did everything he could make Marley his. Even call her out to his house right before a snowstorm. There was just enough spice but plenty of sweet. Great holiday read!
Absolutely adorable! And sweet and so, so hot and steamy too! I love Saint’s grumpy to Marley’s sunshine. Although Saint is definitely not grumpy when Marley is around. The caveman behavior is perfection. I just thoroughly enjoyed this book! Perfect complement to Charlee’s story.
So sweet and heartwarming read. I loved that there wasn't any angst really. When Marley found out the extremes Saint went to get her she didn't really minded. She knew, after all, he was a bit ibssessive with her and she secretly loved it. Sweet epilogue. Highly recommended.
"Their Snowy Night" is the story of Marley and Saint.
An obsessed hacker, a sweet police woman, the holiday weekend they are snowed in together where feelings are exposed and love conquers inhibitions. Average read!
Oh I loved this sweet Christmas HEA. These two were so cute and perfectly matched. I loved the importance of the Reece’s peanut butter cup trees. And they are the best tasting ones for real.
This was cute quick read but kind of unbelievable. A deputy that only takes harmless calls and a slew from one house doesn't raise any flags??? Guess that why she's not a detective. Saint raised a few eyebrows as well but it was still a cute story.
This book is a delightful Christmas romance. Saint is somewhat reclusive with a grumpy attitude for anyone except Marley. She is a warm, friendly sort of deputy. Romance with humor is quite satisfying.
What a fantastic story that this was. I really enjoyed it couldn’t put it down. It has a great storyline with really likeable characters that have great hot chemistry. This is definitely a must read!!!
I enjoyed it. It was well written, low angst and quick read before bed. Now I will say, if this was irl, this guy would be a huge red flag… that’s on fire. So if you cannot suspend reality when it comes to obsessive, starker tendencies, this probably isn’t the read for you.
Do you want a sweet, stalker romance? This is the one for you. The man is obsessed with Marley. Saint can do no wrong in my eyes. I loved him so much. He would do anything for his woman. Ugh! So good and spicy.
I absolutely love Saint for Marley. He fell so hard for her and would do anything to bring them together. The great thing was Marley was 100% on board with him being obsessed with her. The ending was so cute
