Satisfying the Billionaire

Rate this book
Trudy
My dating life has become a minefield of wrong guys. Until the day Hunter Carlson, CEO of Carlson Publishing, follows me into the office elevator. He’s my boss’s brother. And from the moment our hands touch, we sizzle.
Hunter is the perfect solution to my dating woes. A man too busy to want anything more than a fun fling.
I don’t do relationships—instead, I offer him a simple deal. A friends-with-benefits deal.
But when those benefits are mind-blowing, it’s soon obvious there is nothing simple about our deal.

Hunter
Trudy Wilder is a feisty little firecracker who knows what she wants. And what she wants is for me to be her friend with benefits.
I can’t believe my luck. No commitment. No demands on my time. No complaints about me working too much. And let’s not forget … she is stunning.
How could our arrangement be anything but satisfying?
Of course, life is never that simple. Things become complicated when I begin to see Trudy as so much more than a friend.
And I have to make a choice … keep the arrangement or let her go.

What happens when the satisfaction of a no-strings-attached lover ends up tying me in knots?
Maybe it’s time for some rope play.

Satisfying the Billionaire is book one in the Carlson Dynasty series. A full length sexy standalone Friend with Benefits romance with a billionaire CEO hero and a smart strong heroine. Guaranteed HEA and no cheating. Adults only.

For me the downside to this book was that the pacing was very off in my opinion.

The main female character spent 65 to 70% of the book with her inner monologue constantly telling us how she did not want a relationship, how she was scared of a relationship, how relationships were not for her and how she had to keep this friends with benefits situation she had going on completely without strings. This got very repetitive and very boring.

Then what felt very suddenly she realised, mainly because they had broken up, that she was in fact in love with her friend with benefits and how she did actually want a relationship. For me there was no development of this feeling - one moment she felt one side of the spectrum and the next page she was on the complete opposite side.

Also there really was not that much time between the couple getting together again at the end and the actual end of the book so this was a little bit disappointing because a third scene break up act can be quite annoying if you only get the couple back together for a pager to afterwards.

The steam was good, and I liked that the boy fell first, and the fact that the boy was willing to be vulnerable and admit that he wanted a relationship even though the girl still wasn’t sure. And I am quite interested in the other characters relationships that you see in the background of this book.

Tropes:
Fling to something real

Steam:

Friends with Benefits romance

Wow what a book a refreshing change reading the main female character been strong and knowing what she wants. This friends with benefits romance has everything you need, Hunter and Trudy’s characters are delight to read and the chemistry these have right from there first meeting is off the chart.Even the steamy are hot 🥵 for me this is definitely a book and a series to read 5⭐️

amazing steamy read

Great to read about a blended family that are functional and loving, the Carlson Family includes brothers Logan, Hunter and Blake and their stepsister Katie.
The family own a publishing company, all but Blake work there. While Blake has his own company in partnership with his best mate - a cyber security company.
Bec and Trudy both work for Blake’s company, they are best friends. We see Bec interest in Blake (and vice versa) and Trudy trying out the online dating scene.
Then there Hunter, the oldest Carlson who is CEO of the Publishing company. He is tall, hot AF with amazing chocolate brown eyes and a body to die for. Trudy and Hunter develop an ‘arrangement’ of sorts as they are both relationship phobic. It’s an interesting journey they have of steamy hot AF bedroom antics and trying their hardest not to accept their growing feelings.
Loved the Vice club, especially the Japanese bondage art form of Shibari 🥵
The push/pull of their relationship was perfectly written with such detail and emotion.
The background characters as so developed in this book, you can’t help but be intrigued with what is going on in their lives too - I am so invested in this family and can’t wait to read more.
Overall this was an amazing read.

I really liked the storyline and the characters. Hunter was sweet, sexy and caring and Trudy was beautiful, Smart very independent

When they met neither of them wanted a serious relationship but both knew they had an instant connection which is how they ended up becoming friends with benefits. As time went on we got to see them getting to know each other on a deep level which caused them to develop feelings for one another.

The writing style wasn't my favorite. But that didn't stop me from enjoying the story. This is the perfect book if u want a boss brother, friends with benefits and he falls first romance!

I loved everything about this book! Fielding Hass is literally book boyfriend perfection. Full Our Fiend is an accidental pregnancy, he falls first, forced proximity, one night stand romance.

These characters are broken, but when they come together it’s magic. They are perfect for each other and the chemistry between them is hawt.

I loved the build up between these characters. We’ve met Hunter in previous books as he’s a Carlson brother, these brothers are all equally gorgeous and swoon worthy. We’ve also met Trudy as she’s in the group of friends in the same series.

Hunter is very persistent but patient and so gorgeous, just his personality is enough for me but when we find out how good he is in bed… wow! In love.
Trudy is not looking for love, she just wants a bit of the benefits and she gets some seriously hot benefits from Hunter!

This book is just as compelling and easy to read as all of Cate Lane’s books so far. Great plot and fabulous characters. Recommend all of her books.

This was a friends to benefits, miscommunication trope, that just had me turning pages. Hunter being the oldest out of his siblings take over the family business. Doesn’t date because he would rather be with someone that loves him for himself rather then his “status”. Trudy doesn’t date because of her parents marriage. They meet because she works for hunters brother company. The fall for each other hard, then come to a friends with benefits arrangement, you see how their feelings change. Can’t wait to see what happens in this series

This is my first book by Cate Lane and certainly not my last. The way Cate writes,it just jumps off the pages and really allows you to visualize and immerse yourself in the world she is creating. Satisfying the Billionaire is definitely one of those cute rom-coms in a book with spicy added. I loved that Hunter fell first and had to wait for Trudy to work through her reservations, since typically it’s opposite. Their dynamic is relatable and cute and has you rooting for Hunter to convince Trudy he’s the one to try things out with.

Satisfying the Billionaire is a sweet and spicy billionaire story. I loved the crossover with Cate’s previous series Lovers in the City.
Trudy and Hunter meet by chance at the elevators of her job at Hunter’s brother’s company. They strike up a friends with benefits pact since both are Leary of a commitment.
I really loved following their love story, and Hunter may be at the top of my book boyfriend list.

No relationships, no strings attracted just fun! Hunter & Trudy have found exactly what they thought they wanted, but will it stay that simple?
Just stick to the rules & it will work out fine or will it.

Even though Trudy is extremely frustrating, I loved her character, the sassyness was spot on, her vulnerability left her exposed but showed her true strength.
Hunter was childish but so lovable. A big scary giant but a sweet little puppy inside.

Another book where the cover does not match the spice level of the book! Hunter and Trudy took us on a roller coaster of emotions. These two started off in a friends with benefits relationship and ended with it being so much more. This book is one book where the guy falls first and then she breaks his heart! It was a nice change of pace from the normal romance I read. If you are a fan of The Stopover then I have a feeling you would love this book! Bravo to the author!

Satisfying the Billionaire presents a little different twist on the friends-with-benefits trope -- the one with commitment issues in this relationship is more Trudy than Hunter. They both agree to the FWB relationship, but I felt like Hunter was the one who came to realize his feelings were more than friends a lot sooner than Trudy did. Then again, she does have valid reasons for wanting to just be friends who have amazing, hot sex together (are they ever really just friends??).

I love Trudy and that she wants to have a career, she suffered as a child due to the decisions of others so she is always in control and logical. Love seems illogical to her so she doesn't want to go there. She's a perfectionist who just needs to let off a little stream once in a while so she doesn't explode, she doesn't want strings attached. That's why she feels like her deal with Hunter is perfect. It felt like from the beginning he knew there was more there, but he was willing to go along with her "deal" in order to spend more time with her and that makes him book boyfriend material for sure.

This book is a perfect quick spicy read and I am looking forward to the rest of the series (especially with the Katie teaser!).

This is my first book by Cate Lane and it's a great read. I love the writing and I enjoyed reading it the whole time. Trudy and Hunter are so relatable, and I couldn't wait to see how things would end up with their arrangement. I'm not sure friends with benefits can ever stay just that and not get feeling involved. These two try hard to make sure it just about how they can please each other. This book has some hot steamy scenes, and it helps that there is a sex club involved. I love that Trudy is an independent woman and isn't afraid to get what she wants. Along with Trudy and Hunter there are other characters in this book that are so funny. Hunter's brother is hilarious and has his own little thing going on with someone who is close to Trudy. I'm looking forward to reading more about Hunter's family he has two brothers and a sister, and the next book will be about his sister. The book ends with an HEA and will have you wanting to read the next book.

4 1/2 Star Read. Trudy works with her best friend Bec at Cybersec. Trudy doesn't do relationships after her parent's bad divorce and her own personal experiences. Brothers Blake and Luke run the company while their other brother Hunter runs the family publishing company. Trudy runs into Hunter in the elevator at work one day when he comes to visit his brothers. Trudy is smitten with Hunter from one meeting and Hunter really likes her too. They decide on a friends-with-benefits relationship since Trudy doesn't do relationships. Will they be able to keep their relationship on the one level or will one of them want to change the relationship?
I received an arc to do my honest review for NNBB. If you love an romance with some angst you will love this book.

Who doesn't love a hot Billionaire and a woman with commitment issues all wrapped up in hot chemistry that scorches your fingers and did I say Hunter has swooning down to fine art? well, believe me, he does.

Trudy works for Hunter's brother, she doesn't believe in commitment. Still, Trudy does have needs, so when their worlds collide in a lift, it is as if the heat monitor went 'bing, bing', a friend-with-benefits arrangement suits Trudy down to the ground, no sleeping over just some fun. Still, somewhere along the way both start to want more, well Hunter gets there more quickly than Trudy on that realisation, and that is when he turns up the swoon!

Settle back and enjoy, I know you will.

Trudy has given up on anything love she has the plan to make her dreams come true and no one is about to get in her way. She doesn't do relationships and she won't be swayed. She has a past that has hurt and she just wants to do what is best for her. When she meets her boss's brother Hunter sparks fly, but she won't give in. Hunter prides himself on knowing what he wants and when he wants it. He doesn't want nor need a relationship with his past. He's spunky and I totally fell for his carefree attitude. When he meets Trudy they have all of the sparks flying left and right. Can he convince her to give him a chance? One night might not be enough, but how can he convince her of more. And is he ready for that when he has professed his bachelorhood left and right?

“My heart swells with love for my boyfriend and his constant surprises. But also, for showing me what it’s like to be part of a real family that knows how to care and love each other.”

3.5⭐️ Trudy and Hunter thought they could have a friends with benefits relationship but think again. These two had great sexual chemistry. I think their relationship could have gotten deeper emotionally sooner if she would of accepted her feelings. It was obvious that she was falling for him but she let her fears hold her back. I loved that Hunter fell first and didn’t hide it. I kind of felt like the 3rd act breakup was unnecessary and like the “issue” didn’t need to be kept a secret. I loved Hunter’s family and their parts of the story as well.

Cate gave a fresh take on friends with benefits... especially when Trudy was the one adamant that no feelings would be involved, although Hunter agreed.

Trudy really needed to dive deeper into her feelings and past experiences to fully understand what was holding her back from trusting someone and letting them in.

Hunter was burned once in a past relationship and he refuses to let that happen again...but he quickly realizes Trudy is different. Their conversations come easily and they talk about everything and nothing at the same time.

Their instant attraction and chemistry was palpable and adding in the Vice Club 🔥

But that doesn't seem to be enough and life has other plans for these two. Only lack of communication can be blamed.

I really enjoyed reading Satisfying the Billionaire and can't wait to go back and read the original stories of Cassie & Luke, Bec & Blake and Jas & Scott!

Trudy and Hunter meet by chance at the elevators of her job at Hunter’s brother’s company. Another great book by Cate that I couldn't put down. I highly recommend it.

The FMC Trudy was trying too hard to convince everyone about not wanting a relationship which in the long run felt like she was trying to convince herself more than convince the rest of us. Plus the entire time frame of these two characters to form repertoire was lacking which made the book drag because trudy was portrayed as a very sexual person yet when she actually had someone with whom she could actually have a regular sexual experience with, she chose to see them once a month.

I liked how hunter was big on his siblings and i had chosen not to read the series but was intrigued to check out Logans story though.

This is a new author to me and I definitely will be reading more of her books. The characters are well developed and the storyline is intriguing and entertaining. After her parent’s nasty divorce Trudy swears off relationships. She meets Hunter in the elevator while he is visiting her two bosses, who happened to be brothers and Hunter is the third brother. She hatches a plan that they can be friends with benefits and Hunter goes along with it. Will either of them develop feelings? Will either of them want more?

This is the first book I read by the author and there were things about the writing I both liked and disliked. I was completely engrossed in the storyline and eager to know about all the characters.
Hunter and Trudy have a chance encounter at her work place and end up in a friends with benefits situation but things change when they start to get to know each other. It was really great to read their relationship evolve.
I was also curious about the other characters especially Bec and Blake story.

What a cute story! I loved seeing Trudy and Hunter's love story develop. It was nice seeing a driven woman who was career focused and independent. I loved the romance of it all and the gravitational force they had for each other!

Their bedroom chemistry was 🔥🔥 and I enjoyed the scenes that Cate gifted her readers! I loved all the other couples too and was glad to see some happy endings for them as well!

All in all, a great read and you should definitely check this out on October 28th when it releases! Thank you so much The Smuthood for the ARC and allowing me to read this early!

Hot billionaire hurt from a past relationship and an employee of his brother with commitment issues walk into an elevator. 🤣 It’s the start of a friends with benefits arrangement that both of them are fans of. But does it stay that way? *sinister cackling* I was definitely engrossed in the storyline and when Hunter, the MMC, has his realization of his feeling it’s a tot swoon-fest ♥️
I am also looking forward to reading the other brothers stories as well.

Trudy and Hunter, I’d like to say it was love at first elevator ride - but due to past issues in their personal lives, those feelings were pushed aside.
I loved seeing them play a sort of cat and mouse game that leads them to an arrangement of sorts.

One night a month. A hotel room. No sleeping over.

They both should have known that was not going to be enough - the chemistry between them was on fire!

There was little to no drama outside of the relationship and I really liked that. Just a sweet and spicy love story that had me swooning!

Now remember, this is just my opinion. This book went everywhere. Five storylines going, and so much gibberish thrown in. Twice I got bored and put it down. But I decided I was going to finish it since I paid for it. Even the title was wrong since everything had to be her way. No need to read any more books about members of this family, the endings are summed up in this one. No need for a series, maybe finish up Katie, but that's all. I read over 300 books a year, so again remember, this is just my opinion.

Hunter was the perfect book boyfriend! 🥵 The spice. Him falling first. Older. Sexy.

Trudy the girl who we all wished we were! Smart, confident, knows what she wants.

This book was a great quick read. The smut was perfect! Story line was great and the banter between everyone had me smiling like a fool!

This is the first book I have read from Cate Lane and it will not be the last!
