Evangeline Anderson is a registered MRI tech who would rather be writing. And yes, she is nerdy enough to have a bumper sticker that says “I’d rather be writing.” Honk if you see her! She is thirty-something and lives in Florida with a husband, a son, and two cats. She had been writing erotic fiction for her own gratification for a number of years before it occurred to her to try and get paid for it. To her delight, she found that it was actually possible to get money for having a dirty mind and she has been writing paranormal and Sci-fi erotica steadily ever since.

I have to give this a good score because it really did keep me entertained until the end.

Here are the top three comments I have:

1) I read the book because I was interested to see how Anderson took real-life magick and interwove it with fictional lore but it soon became obvious it was written with a Wiccan 101 book on hand. I have nothing against herbalists or color magick but I am hard pressed to believe either could do much damage as a stand alone force against a werewolf curse.

2) If lycanthropy can be cured (at least for that month) just by getting laid I don't see the big problem. Budget in some spending money on hookers and get on with your life.

3) Every time things get romantic the leading lady's mentor (in ghost form) busts in the room like the Kool-Aid Man going "Oh, Yeah!"

This book would have gotten more than 2 stars from me if it had a story line. The heroine creates love potion, enter hero, bathes in said potion, heroine finds out she has to have sex with hero to save him (conveniently after love potion is entered into plot), believes he loves her only because of the potion (even though she clearly mentions that the potion only amplifies feelings that are already there).

Skip a month (which would have been the perfect time to create some plot to show the progression of the relationship) and they're back to having sex to save his life.

If every witch had to have sex with their clients, wouldn't we all run to become Wiccans...

Cute, fun, sexy 95 pages! Reeve, Sara's brother's best friend, has returned as a werewolf and needs Sara's help breaking the spell. She accidentally also puts a love spell on him, so she can't tell if he genuinely loves her.

Sara is the town's resident witch and lives a lonely, loveless existence until Reeve shows up...

If we had gotten flashbacks into their past and how they fell in love with each other, more scenes with Sara giving out potions, this book could have been 4 stars. Though I doubt it would have been a novella then...

>Book Review – Red and the Wolf
>I am an independent reviewer. This book is a standalone work of erotic fantasy with an HEA. Sarah is a spell caster. Reeve is the BFF of Sara’s deceased brother. Reeve was cursed to become a werewolf and wants Sara to break the curse. Of course, the way to break the curse is very erotic. There are multiple scenes of pure erotica.
>There isn’t any backstory on Reeve and how he used to view Sara vs. how he views her now. The story was very short and just an excuse for writing erotic scenes. This book is appropriate for an adult audience. I am giving this book 3 stars.

This is an erotic little romp with some feels to it. There's not a lot of story or plot, but if you're looking for something to make you feel a little hot and a little sappy, this is a great pick. It's a short fun ride. Don't expect anything deep or notable and you can enjoy the ride with no regrets.

First, I read this as a paranormal romance intertwined and as a modern retelling of the Red Riding Hood and Wolf traditional fairytale. The modern setting is already dated by stating Iraq...this would have stood the test of time if her brother had been killed in 'a' theatre of war.
Secondly, for an old Islamic woman in shock and grief casting a werewolf curse on Reeve the brother's lifelong friend was stretching disbelief too far. Far more believable if from eastern europe maybe but just wouldn't be in realm of anyone Islamic or from Iraq!

It is repetitive. How many times is the premise of the magic herbs making him love her said? Too many.

I usually love Evangeline Andersons writings and felt this was border okay. I liked Sara, I accept some people believe in Wiccan magic and witchcraft or influence of herbs, stones and colours. I found the tension when she flees back to try and reach safety very good...your just waiting for the werewolf to pounce and wondering how she will get out of this.

I enjoyed the sex scenes, found much erotic but there again this area Evangeline knows how to describe, arouse and titillate...hence we read her proliferant works.

There are control and submission scenes and i like the silver cuff links instead of silver bullets to restrain hunky Reeve...sorry the werewolf version, and if sex n herbs cured werewolves, n werewolves were real, they wouldn't last long as a specie but my the amount of herb gardens in this western world with willing volunteers to cure means they wouldn't stand a chance in survival...would they?

Aspects of this...the smexy sex were four star, the rest, the conduit or storyline was weaker, just three so I have to give it as good three star overall. Easy read and edited. Has used research for herbalists belief in plants capabilities.

Anderson's writing continues to impress me, whether she is writing shorter stories or longer novels. Like many romance authors, she favors the alpha male, but her alphas are not asses. Rather, they tend to be sympathetic characters, as she frequently switches the writing to the point of view of the male lead, as well as the female.

Red and the Wolf is a short about a small town witch who's been in love with her brother's best friend for years. A best friend who returns from a tour in the Middle East, traumatized by the death of the brother and suffering a curse of the werewolf. Very good read, and I'm looking forward to my next from Anderson.

I quite enjoyed this short tale. There was a little low confidence mixed with a werewolf and a witch, some magic, a curse, and some smitten. What a mixture.

I was hanging off of every page. Liked the characters and their relationship to each other.

A great read following a bunch of mediocre ones.

Always hot with Me Anderson's novels

This book is off the scale hot. Fairy-tale-ish this tale has a fabulously catchy storyline with 18+ additions. Great characters and a wonderful setting. Definitely a top star rating from me.
