I had never read this type of book before. As you read this book, it's good to have a mirror on handy so you follow along with the text while reading. This will be good for students who need to be active or moving a lot because they get that hands-on experience. I put this under my math shelf because it deals with reflection and I remember dealing with that a lot one of my math classes. I also put it under science because you can do science lessons with mirrors as well.
The Magic Mirror Book is amazing. Each page has a specific illustrations along with an invitation of what you can do with a mirror. Make a half-moon into a whole moon, make one boat two and move them closer together or farther apart, and fix a broken plate. It's a wonderful interactive book with such a unique concept. I'm a sucker for interactive books, especially ones young children can truly engage with, and this book is one of them.
Good for use without the mirror too...have the children follow the directions and complete the task on their own sheet of paper. Use "make the worm longer, complete the shapes, etc" for math or science lessons. Observation story, smaller/bigger..wider/shorter
I enjoyed this book because I was able to do all kinds of tricks with the mirror inside to the pictures. Students will enjoy this book because it is hands-on.
This book would be great to provide a hands on interactive book for students. Students who have ADHD would thoroughly enjoy this book because it provides maniputlatives.
