Well, we got a winner here!

Our protagonist here is the youngest sister in a witchy coven where each sister has their own special abilities. Marnie can sense someone's and her own soulmate. The soulmate, in this case, is 19 years old her senior and a grumpy CEO of a PR company and she knew about him ever since she was a kid.

I enjoyed this quick read more than I expected, especially with the kind of bad luck I have with my selection of books. Marnie is one of those hopeful, positive attitudes, almost childlike mindset kind of heroine and I love her so much. I think this book pulled it off, balancing between a compelling setting and an instalove romance between a dreamer and a realist.

This was a nice mix of witchy magic and age gap contemporary romance.
I enjoyed a lot of the story and am left curious enough I want to continue onto the new series.

Safety and Spoilers

I really enjoyed this story. It was unique and different than what I usually read. I loved the h. She was so confident and assured in her soulmate Grayson but still insecure about her magical abilities within her family. I love how the two bonded and complimented each other. They were a perfect match. I am looking forward to reading the other sister’s stories.
Safe. No real ow/om drama, a woman on elevator with h/H asked H out and he turns her down. h is jealous and lightly flirts with om on same elevator. H is 19 years older so he is not a virgin. He is divorced and sex life isn’t really mentioned. h is a virgin because she has been waiting for the H since he’s her soulmate. No abuse.

This...wasn't the best and I'm very upset about it. The first two chapters? Perfection. I really enjoyed them, I felt like they set the book up really well, it was a solid 4 stars as far as I'm concerned. Things went downhill from there.

It became increasingly obvious that this isn't a book you can read without having read the previous instalments. And you may say "Eve, this was the third in the series, of course, you have to read them in order"...Well I didn't know that! I figured this was a series of standalone set in the same universe, each one focuses on a different pair so there shouldn't have been an issue. Information kept getting thrown at me that wasn't explained so I kinda had to catch myself up or just stay confused.

I also have to mention the actual romance...it wasn't great. Once again, I saw so much potential in the first two chapters. There wasn't any development at all, things were happening but there was never any feeling behind it, they were just words. For some reason, they were sexing it up when she should have been trying to find her family. It was a massive deal that they were separated and yet we got a month time skip in which nothing happened at all, there was no urgency or sense of importance.

Unfortunately, I had to give this a 2 Star rating. There was so much potential but in the end, everything felt flat. And it can't even be blamed entirely on me reading it out of order, because even had I known what was going on, it still would have come to nought. This was nowhere near as enjoyable as it should have been and I'm entirely disappointed. What was the point of this read? What was I supposed to get out of it? This just didn't work at all.

I think Oliveira has good writing instincts - scenes flow well, and the overall plot arc and set of characters work as building blocks of a good story. I have issues with the relationship at the center of the book, though.

Marnie is the youngest in a family of witches, and is saddled with the weakest power - she knows who her soulmate is. Not only that, she knows the exact date and time she will meet him. It turns out that her fated guy, Grayson, is the CEO of a PR firm and 19 years her senior. She's determined to make him realize what they have between them when she interviews to be his personal assistant, which of course lands at the fated day and time.

It's a fun premise with a lot of promise, but there is so much that needs to happen - worldbuilding and learning what makes these people tick and setting up weird supernatural happenings in the plot while also explaining them, not to mention the whole process of these two falling in love. And sadly, that last part is where the shortcuts are taken. "Destiny" pushes them into the bedroom very quickly, and while Marnie says she wants him to recognize they're soulmates, that is something very different from falling in love.

The physical attraction is there, thanks to the magic pull, but there's precious little pointing to anything more. At one point I thought, 'oh hey, I can see a relationship arc where this is the 30% mark', but it was over 80% in. Their happily ever after feels just as rushed as that implies. We never get proof that Marnie and Grayson love each other outside of the magical influence that's all around them, and that brushes us against squicky territory for me.

Give this another 200 pages of room to fully develop the relationship along with the world, and it could be amazing. As is, it's a fun but rushed story that wasn't as satisfying as I had hoped.

Fun supernatural/PNR novella launching a new series (and pen name) for Amy Oliveira.

This was a lot of my favorite tropes/themes: age gap (41/22), grumpy/sunshine, human/paranormal, quirky heroine, low angst, and so freaking funny. Marnie is a witch whose only power is to see soulmates for people. She’s known who her own is & exactly when she’ll meet him. Which makes for hilarious interactions because she’s so sure of her place in his life and Grayson is sort of bowled over. Attraction is there, but he fights it a little because they’re so different.

This is definitely fated mates and while I know it’s a short novella, I would have liked just a bit more “getting to know you” for them - but this kind of ends on an HFN, so I’m hoping there will be more Grayson and Marnie as the series goes on. Marnie is one of 7 sisters and it seems each sister is going to get their own book. Easy read, fun characters, and super sexy. Pilar’s book (under Oliveira’s pen name Scarlett Reyes) is up next and with the bomb she drops at the end of this one, I’m ready!

ARC REVIEW

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This novella is coming out at a great time with Halloween just around the corner. It is about a bruja named Mairnie who has a special gift much different than her 6 siblings...she can see soul mates. Mairnie is such a fun character and I loved her right from the start!

Grayson is a business man looking for an assistant and Marinie walked into his office knowing just how to get what she was destined to.

This book has witches , spice🌶, paranormal and a great story line. It's a perfect read for spooky season.

Marnie Morales is the youngest of seven sisters of a coven. Marnie’s gift is she can see soul mates. She goes to Avery Communications to interview for Grayson Avery’s assistant. When she goes into the interview the attraction and pull they feel for each other is intense. The interview gets interrupted by a difficult client but Marnie calms her down, and gets the job. Great characters and storyline. Amazing book. I love Marnie and Grayson. I can’t wait for the next sister’s book. This is my first time reading this author definitely not my last.

WOW! Marnie knew that Grayson was her soulmate and was totally prepared to accomplish her goal! Getting Grayson to admit he believed her.

The youngest of the seven Morales sisters, having a rare but special gift! Marnie is so much more than just a baker and Grayson needs her more than he knew.

The journey to make Grayson realize he’s Marnie’s soulmate and protecting the sisters is anything short of amazing!

I could not put this novella down! It’s perfect for spooky season! I love a good witchy story and Amy absolutely delivered!

Honestly... this started off pretty good in my opinion.

Now granted, this is a shorter book. (For those wondering, anything falling under 150 pages is considered small to me. Sometimes more than that, but 150 is a good cut off for me to know I can finish this in a single sitting.) Anyways, point being, when the book is that short, I go in knowing to manage my expectations. Expect minimal plot (if any), and don't go looking for anything super in-depth for character development or world building.

So at the start of this... I thought we were doing good. You've got Marnie Morales, who doesn't think a whole lot about her special gift, but who has known forever that Grayson Avery was made for her. We meet the other sisters, we lose the sisters, Grayson's trying to help but also being a bit of a butt about things because he won't get on board. (Granted, she gave him like a day, but still...)

Honestly, that's where things started going awry for me though. About the halfway mark. And because the rest of this is definitely entering spoiler territory, it's being hidden. But read on if you want to hear why this ultimately didn't work for me.

Suffice to say if you didn't read the spoiler, I won't be continuing this series. We started off okay, but there wasn't enough here to keep me intrigued enough to want to keep going and figure out what happened to the other sisters.

Interesting

This was a short story with an interesting paranormal aspect, but it felt disconnected to me. It was like there were two stories happening at the same time, but neither had much to do with the other. The relationship was ok but not exactly what the blurb promises. Their ages have very little to do with anything and are not super emphasized. The witch aspect is the more interesting part of the story but the book is too short to really go into much of it.
It was an ok story to read - a few typos and weird word choices. I don't know if I'll get the rest of the books. I might because I'm hoping the writing and story telling improves with practice, but I also didn't love it enough to just go running out and buy all the rest.
Don't get me wrong, the story is worth reading and the errors aren't terrible (I've come across MUCH worse) so it's worth a try. Others will probably like it. I didn't dislike it - I finished the whole thing so that says something because I will DNF a book in a heart beat - so, give it a shot. It is an interesting back story with regards to the paranormal bits.

I love Amy's writing and when I heard she has a paranormal office romance I was delighted. So, when I received the ARC, I couldn't wait to read it.
What I was not prepared for was how much i loved it. I read it really fast, meaning I just thought I'd check the first chapter, and then continue later... But next thing I knew, it was the end of chapter 4 😂
I loved the characters, how they completed each other, how they were two halves of the same soul, but they didn't slip in the annoying super sugary type. I loved the entire setup of the world, how everything was explained to the reader and it helped me place the characters and the relationships within the paranormal. And I have to mention the amazing cover, that only makes the steam level of the book grow tenfold, and the book is spicy 🥵
I can't wait to see what happens next in the series, and with what sister will Amy continue 😊
You Are Mine is the perfect October read and I highly recommend it. As in go, run and get it! You will not regret it!

Written in first person from an alternating dual POV, this can be read as a standalone and ends with a HEA. This novella is set outside of San Francisco and takes place beginning on Halloween 2022.
Marnie is the youngest of seven sisters who are witches, and each have a special gift. Marnie’s gift: to know her soulmate. She is 22 when she meets Grayson, who is 19 years older and a successful CEO. I loved the first two chapters. After that, I felt like the story was a little rushed to fit inside the novella format. I liked both MCs but I wanted more development of their relationship. They get physically hot and heavy pretty fast, but I felt like their emotional connection fell short outside of the magnetic draw of being soul mates. I also really want more of the sisters and their relationships. I have the next book downloaded, and I am hopeful that it will provide even more insight into their relationships with each other and their family history.

- I do love the concept
- I don’t understand why I don’t like witches. I really don’t.
- oh. Not sure why there couldn’t have been some time passing. Literally this afternoon they met and now this mess
- hm. Things progressed too quickly. Its literally been what, 8 hours since they met? No relationship development ar all and he totally believes she’s a witch and wants to get her off
- oh ok. We got the relationship building. Nice. A month so far
- I wonder if the sisters get books
- hmm. Not a fan of RH so if her sisters get a book I don’t be reading it
- that ending was WAY to abrupt. Besides it ending abruptly after she summoned Vic, it went to a epilogue where they had sex and nothing else. It was just a sex. And not even a whole sex scene.
- ok so her sister pilar gets a book with Vic but tbh I don’t think I’ll be reading it

I just want to say Charmed is my favorite show. The fact the book reference the show was hilarious. It just goes to show how close the sisters bound is. The author did an amazing job with this novella, and I cannot wait to see the older sisters versions. Elisa omg and Pilar using the “H” word so quick. Ummm I need more please. Since this is a novella I can’t not say much more without giving the whole book away.
🌶️🌶️🌶️ The spicy is there but is there room to get hotter yes.
The book came out right in time for Halloween as the sisters themselves dread this holiday.

This book was given to me as an ARC and in no way did it effect my rating. These are my honest thoughts and ratings. Hope you all enjoy the read :)

This book a little different from what I read from the author, but I simply love it! The Morales sisters are a coven of brujas, and each of the seven sisters has a power, and Marnie is to recognize her soulmate. She knew about him way before she ever saw him, so it’s a no surprise to her she ends up as his assistant. Greyson is a CEO, 19 years older, handsome and difficult. The pull between them is undeniable and when the meet outside the office, sparks fly and clothes disappear. It’s a super steamy book, with great characters, and some surprises along the way (the other six sisters and the family past), that will leave you wishing Amy had already written and release the other books.

”Sabrina the Spellman was a witch. Bruja is a woman carrying the weight of magical knowledge from generations. They say you shouldn’t mess with a Latina, huh? Don’t mess with a bruja.”

Aaah this paranormal novella was everything! Familia love, beautiful magic and tradition, a super sweet, quirky, sassy bruja with all the confidence in herself ans needed a little push to trust her powers. Aaaaand a hot, loving hero she brought to his knees (pun intended) who needed to learn what the power of magic and true love could really do. Read it in about an hour and loved everything about it! I definitely need more of this series and more of this author.

The perfect Halloween read!

Love love loved this book!! I need more!!!

Check CW warnings! It's not necessarily dark but there are some mentions of dark themes!!!

Man i literally ate this book UP!! I couldnt stop!! This story had so much going on but it flowed smoothly.

I was a lil annoyed with her having 2 different names it kept throwing me off and i thought it was a grammar error. There was some minor grammar errors but it wasn't to bad and i just fixed it inside my head 😅 (OCD)

I can't wait to see how her sisters finding their soul mates goes!! It feels like it's goin to be a fun ride!!!

Thank u for a lovely story! I can't wait to read more!!

What a cute and spicy spooky season read. Full of witches, soulmates and the supernatural. Marnie is the youngest of the 7 Morales sisters and her gift is the ability to see soulmates. Halloween is usually a very special celebration for all the supernatural but this Halloween will be one the Morales Sisters will never forget. If you liked Charmed or the Witches of East End, you definitely enjoy this. A definite recommend for me. As always make sure your comfortable with what your reading. Happy Reading Book Besties💙

I grabbed this book for free yesterday during the "stuff your kindle" sale and had no idea if I'd even like it.

Marnie is an amazing character. Full of individuality, not afraid to be herself even if she stands out, and the sass. Loved her.

Grayson.. whew. This grumpy boss turned sexy soulmate.

Near the end of the book when Marnie and Grayson are talking about soulmates I absolutely loved how Grayson walked her through the meaning of that and what she needed to take from it to help her sisters.

I'd love to read more of their story.

3.75⭐️ rounded to 4 for Goodreads

I went into this book thinking it was a smutty novella… I wasn’t completely wrong & I was pleasantly surprised. Marnie is a bruja & Grayson is the CEO of a PR company. The two could not be more different but they’re soulmates. While Marnie has known this for years, Grayson is still coming to grips with it.

I thought this was a cute, quirky palette cleanser. It gave spooky season vibes, very eclectic. I thoroughly enjoyed it. My only wish is that it were longer. I know it’s suppose to be a novella but I wanted more. 🤣

Grayson Avery is a serious businessman dedicated to PR, with a single weakness. Marnie.

They belong to each other.

This was a perfect spooky read for the month of October. I really enjoyed being immersed into the world of the Morales sister. I really liked enjoyed seeing Marnie be a determined bruja going after her soulmate regardless of whether her family believes in a curse or her gift. I also really liked the chemistry between Grayson and Marnie and seeing how strong the supernatural pull was between them. The spice was top tier! I cannot wait to read more about the sisters in the series.

What would you do if you spent your whole life knowing exactly when you would meet your soulmate? This was a cute Halloween novella steeped in magic. I know we all love age gap romances but I’ll warn you now that this one is nineteen years. I do wish we got more time with Marnie and Grayson but this was a solid start to what is going to be a paranormal series featuring seven bruja sisters and their soulmates.

Oh my God, wow! This was so good. It was such a unique story and I loved it so much. I can't wait to read the stories of the other sisters and how they met their soulmate(s).

Loved Marina and Grayson! The storyline, the way they found each other, Marnie's gift and her discovery of how important it is, everything drew me in and made me stay here!

Thank you for writing this story, so ready for the others.

Can’t wait for more of this series.

I loved this book. I loved the family dynamic. This was a good introduction to the family, their lives and magic and I’m keen to learn more about all the sisters, their gifts and their soulmates.

Marnie was great. She was cute but still strong and determined.

Grayson was perfect for her. He was so understanding, truly destined for each other.

A great read and I can’t wait for what’s next.
