About the author

Sam Taplin grew up in a beautiful valley in Yorkshire, where he dreamed of being a writer, and after three years reading other people's books at university he started writing his own. He's been doing it ever since. When he's not writing about lonely rabbits or inquisitive bears, he likes doing card tricks, writing songs and playing long games of chess by the fire.

I read through some books on an Usborne fair - this series is excellent! The illustration is delightful, the paper cut-outs are great (the baby can follow/touch them), the clues for finding the animal are well thought out, and I loved the extra cutting of the last page to turn, behind which the little animal is found curled to mummy or daddy.

These are cute little board books, with some texture, and a little hide-and-seek game. My 2 year old likes them, but she anticipates the end so much that she wants to flip through too quickly to it, ha. She likes to get to the little animals at the end. They are found with their mother or father. This one might be my favorite b/c the little fox is snuggling with its mama.

Such a cute book with lovely illustrations. The cutouts are very cleverly done, for e.g. The cutouts that seem to be showing fox's ears become part of the birds' beaks when page is turned.
It also features fingertrails for the baby to trace.
This was the first book that my younger one liked and engaged with. Recommended
