"Pleasure. Safety. Trust. Promise. Possession. It means I'll worship you."

These vibes...

Meeting Emily was like greeting an old friend. I breezed (heehee) through this! I was enraptured by this quick and scrumptious read. There are some unexpected twists that were so well executed with Drake's writing they had me flipping the pages with intrigue.

"Nothing this good could be bad." - the only "bad" thing is that we have to wait 'til spring from the next instalment of the Creature Cravings series.

When I say that I didn't expect how hot and steamy this story would be then I mean it! A ghost/invisible man story that is very unique.
From beginning to end Emily and Willem will do everything to be together. Ghost is since she was six attached to Emily. They grow from people who need each other, to friends to lovers. The possessiveness is big. The sexual tension is woven into the plot. The pace of the story is very fast and that makes this a quick and enjoyable read.
The pregnancy trope is included from half to the book to the end.
I loved to lisiting to the narrator. She has a pleasant voice to listing to.
Personally, I would like to have less steam and spice and more plot. The book is 60% steam and 40% plot. I would love to have more character development.

First, I want to thank Rachel for giving me an ARC in exchange for an honest review, and thank you for allowing me to be part of your team!

Haunt is a book I’ve been so excited to read ever since I found out about it a few months ago! I’ve been sitting on the edge of my seat waiting for it to hit my kindle and it absolutely met all of my expectations and then some! The magic, the creatures, the world building, the romance, the plot, the intrigue?! Absolutely ADDICTIVE!

Rachels has built such a cool, fun world to explore in the first installment in her Creature Cravings series. Emily and William held my heart from the first page and I devoured their story page after page. This was such a beautiful plot line that included acceptance, love, what a beautiful, elements that make up a healthy relationship, sex positivity, justice, closure, and a sweet HEA. Rachel has called this a perfect palette cleanser and I have to wholeheartedly agree! I did not read this as a palette cleanser, but I would absolutely reach for it for that purpose in the future! I can’t wait for the next Creature Cravings book and more from Rachel!

Not bad for a quick ghost romance. It’s very fast paced and insta-love. There’s also lots of smut and a halfway decent storyline to accompany it.

It does skip months and the end of the book closes well, giving the reader lots of insight into their future.

I highly recommend this audiobook.

Entertaining and steamy novella with cozy twists and turns and a haunting cast.

With taboo and uncommon tropes. This story left me wanting to hop into the other interconnected works of Drake's design.

"My ghost has always been with me."

GHOST SMUT?! The smut realm keeps getting better and better. This ARC by Rachel H. Drake was captivating, interesting and sexy!

"Nothing this good could be bad."

Emily and William are the only paranormal couple I'd want to read about. I loved the growth, the connection, and the potential of their future! Great read and looking forward to the other books coming out in the Creature Cravings series.

This was such a quick read and I absolutely LOVED it. The spice was so well written and I actually liked that it was relevant to the plot. The plot was really good too, a lot of twists I wasn't expecting! I highly recommend this book, and cannot wait to read the second book of the Creature Cravings series, Blaze!

I can say this is definitely a first for me, I've never read a book quite like this before. With an incubus,& energy vampire. It was interesting. I just am not into the pregnancy trope and the sex in a restaurant to catch an energy vampire murderer father.

"What a world, what a life, what a love."

Haunt is a hot paranormal romance full of fun world-building and characters. It’s a quick and easy read. I found it to be the perfect TBR palate cleanser from my usual high fantasy. The author includes lots of great smut and this is the first book in a standalone interconnected series. I can’t wait to dive back into this world with book two!

In all ghost stories I’ve ever read, it is said that ghosts don’t age but are frozen at the age they died at. Haunt by Rachel H. Drake says otherwise. I initially thought it would follow the same story arc as the movie Ghost starring Patrick Swayze and Demi Moore. But this story is nothing like it at all unless you count the fact that William is a ghost.

Yes, it is a love story. Yes, The guy, William is not corporeal … but is he really a ghost? William has been Emily’s constant companion since she was 6 years old and was crying because of her father. He could only make his presence felt with cold breezes. Over time they develop simple communication to answer yes and no questions.

William never left her side and as time passed their relationship changed and matured and Emily started to fantasize about having a sexual relationship with her ghost. A glass dildo and a visit to a medium started the ball rolling in that direction.

There is a lot of sex between William and Emily in this book, especially once it is revealed that William is actually an incubus who was killed by an energy vampire. But since he found an anchor in Emily, he did not move on, but instead grew up with her. When William died he was only 11 years old, making him 5 years older than Emily.

To make this story interesting there are critical moments, all of which have sex involved (of course!) as an important medium of energy transfer. One instance was a ritual to make William “real” and involved a stinky douchebag.

Things to note:
- William’s dick is like a Stojo collapsing cup. It is ridged and gets wider the further you go down.
- They started their communication with cold breezes so where cold showers kill the mood for most people, it just turned Emily on.
- William’s family had the foresight to set up his estate so that when he came back he was nowhere near destitute and Emily would not have to work, ever! They could just spend their days having sex.
- As an incubus and part-energy vampire their relationship is perfect because they can just feed off each other.

Haunt by Rachel H. Drake is a sex-filled light reading with a guaranteed HEA.

This novella blends the ethereal with the erotic in a tale that's as peculiar as it is passionate. It's not every day you find yourself rooting for a romance between a living woman and her ghostly guardian—yet here we are, and I'm all in.

🔹 The Spectral Romance: Right from the start, this book sets a captivating stage. Our protagonist, tied to her ghostly protector, finds herself in a conundrum that's both tantalizing and terrifying. The evolution from ethereal friendship to a passionate craving is handled with an intriguing mix of tenderness and intensity. The ghostly touches, the cold whispers of affection—it's all strangely seductive.

🔹 The Twist: A ghost that feeds on physical chemistry and grows stronger? An incubus twist that's as hot as it's haunting? Yes, and yes. Though admittedly, the plot does wander into territories that might have you raising an eyebrow or two. The story's heart beats in its boldness to explore the unexplored, even if it means drifting into a la-la-land that's more erotic than eerie.

🔹 The Guilty Pleasure: This novella is a rollercoaster of steamy scenes set against a backdrop of paranormal intrigue. The spice level? Off the charts. But beneath the surface, there's a simplicity to the storyline that might leave some readers craving more substance, more conflict, more... ghostly drama.

🔹 The Verdict: This is an eclectic mix of ghostly romance and spicy encounters that knows how to keep the pages turning. It's a quick, fiery read that's perfect for those moments when you're looking for an escape from the mundane into the realm of the sensual supernatural.

🌟 My Take: Landing at 3 stars for this book. While the smutty scenes sizzle and the concept intrigues, the plot feels a tad jumbled, leaving this spectral love story feeling a bit ephemeral. It's a novella that embraces its identity as a guilty pleasure—a breezy read that doesn't quite manage to fully develop its world or characters but certainly delivers on heat.

📚 If you're in the mood for a story that blends the boundaries between the living and the ethereal, where desires are as tangled as the plot, then this might just be your next curious read. Just be prepared for a journey that's as chaotic as it is carnal.

Thank you for the ARC!

Thank you Rachel Drake for eARC and the opportunity to read your debut novel!!!!

Emily and her ghost have been connected since she was six years old. For years she doesn't know how or why this ghost came to haunt her; but he is exactly what she needs to feel less lonely. In her recent adult years, however, it's not enough. She craves him, wants to keep him, and will do anything to make this possible.

Emily our FMC is kind and loving! And is insatiable 🔥🥵 we love a woman who is all about that sex drive and confidence! William our MMC is a possessive, protective, sweet, and a kind ghost daddy! 👻

I need more Rosie... ok Rachel!?!?!

What To Expect:
▪︎Paranormal Romance
▪︎Demon, Ghost, and Vampires
▪︎Fun, short, and Easy read. Perfect for when you are in between books
▪︎Lots and Lots of smut! Like 80% smut and 20% plot
▪︎First Book in standalone interconnected series
▪︎HEA
▪︎Pregnancy Trope
▪︎Exhibitionism
▪︎Trigger Warnings ⚠️ (which may contain spoilers)
*Mentions of the murder of a family, child included (not depicted)
*Depiction of using someone in a sexual ritual (consent is given for sex, but not the ritual)
*Mentions of narcissistic and emotional abuse in a family setting and two scenes of confronting the abuser (once verbally, once physically)
*Explicit sexual scenes

Rachel's writing gets you straight to the point. But don't let that deter you. This book was a blast and super easy to read. It was exactly what I needed; after drowning in high fantasy reads for months. My brain wanted no fuss. And that is what Haunt gives you. The plot is hashed out.. I wish there was more character development but it's a novella.. so it's to be expected. So happy to have read this sweet book! I can't wait for book two!!!

Definitely an interesting read.

Emily has felt "Ghost" throughout her life... it started when she was younger, scared and sad when her parents would fight. She would feel a cold brush of wind that comforted her, and as she got older "Ghost" became her constant companion. Emily was a bit of a loner; but, she never felt alone since "Ghost" was always with her. Eventually, Emily starts to feel more intensely about "Ghost".. wanting more physical aspects to their relationship, being able to really talk to him, and wanting a future. She seeks the assistance of a witch psychic who guides her in how to make this possible. The witch does make it clear than once she makes the decision to move forward with her plans for "Ghost" to be real... a lot of things will change.

I will say to have an open mind when reading this. We find out that "Ghost" is William, and was murdered along with his parents... who happen to be Sucubis. William died when he was 11, and when he "woke up" he was in Emily's room as she was crying when she was a child. He felt attached to her and never left her since that day. William longs to have everything Emily wants for him.. and they plan to make his existence more physical and permanent.
For the most part, I liked the story.. it did kind of hop around a bit.. it was definitely steamy/smutty/sexual/experimental and a little twisted. It's two individuals who long to be together and would do anything to make that happen.

I am curious as to what else Rachel H. Drake write and look forward to reading more from her.

I started this review not even 50 percent into the book. This concept is not something I had ever read before, granted I am not a monster/ghost romance officianado. This is a fast-paced story glimpsing into the life of a girl who has been broken and only had the bare minimum to hang on to, something completely intangible. There is nothing reassuring her that that invisible support is there  she believes that it is and believes in it. Well, him, being William. He is her Ghost and she is his Angel. *swoon*

Okay, Rosie could sell me anything. Absolutely anything. I love how her character is understanding and non-judgmental. She supports everything Emily does and ensures she knows what is going on. She allows for growth in uncertain circumstances.

Dear sweetness, the smut in this book is awesome. It is sweet, spicy, quick, and dirty, and I loved every moment of it.

It is so obvious the devotion that Emily has for William. She fully trusts him, and while the information and parts of his past that he drops on her, she takes in stride. Love really endures.

This read was equal parts smut, love, and fluff, which is exactly what I look for in a read that helps me transition from a long or darker read. Books like this are a necessity in order to continue my love of reading, and I could ask Rachel for anything more for this book... but I'm ready for the next!

Haunt is the first installment of the Creature Cravings Series, so look out for more from Rachel! So go grab it, and buckle up cause you are gonna love it!

I WISH AUTHORS WROTE MORE GHOST ROMANCES, BECAUSE IT'S HAUNTINGLY INTRIGUING AND YES, I SUPPOSE I'M ROMANTICIZING THE SCARY FACTOR THAT...WELL...YOU'RE BEING HAUNTED. If a hot ghost looks something like THE GRUDGE/JU-ON, I don't think anyone will be so receptive. JINKIES!

Haunt was enjoyable for the first 1/4. I enjoyed the ghostly interactions between the MCs, and the anticipation for them to finally get physical because well, our ghost's still pretty much untouchable except for a cold breeze of wind. After that, it goes a little downhill, and I mean it was weird.

SPOILER ALERT! Stop reading here if you're not interested to know.

Let's just say I found the combination of ghost+incubus really weird. And there wasn't much drive to the plot, except the MCs fucking and weirdly everything between them was too la-la-land peachy. I like the whole breeding concept (don't judge) but, it wasn't what I'd usually go for, and the whole story was just too smooth. There wasn't any hitches, no baddies - just smooth sailing. To be frank, it became boring once the novelty feeling wore off.

OVERALL this is more a guilty pleasure and quickie read. It's not something I'd read twice or recommend to someone who loves the same genre. Otherwise, it's still enjoyable if you can get over the fact that it's mediocre and a little...weird.

I tried. I really tried with this book, but it was difficult to get into the story and stay in it. The world building was confusing at best and even the characters said “Magic is typically the answer to every question I don’t know.”

What I loved:
👻 That this wasn’t another grooming romance. I was worried at first when the MC explained that the ghost had been with her since she was young. However, William explains later in the story that he was aging with her
👻 The spicy scenes. I read a lot of monster romance books, but these scenes were new to me and definitely creative.

What I wasn’t as much a fan of:
👻 The pregnancy trope. It’s a fine trope but it isn’t for me at this stage in my life
👻 The world building. I would have loved to learn more about how the world works. I know this was the first story in a series of monster/paranormal romances but there were too many different elements slammed at the reader with little explanation. The combination of it not just being a ghost but also a succubus and then her dad was an energy vampire was too much in a short number of chapters; it made it hard to immerse myself in the world. I would have loved to see this be a longer story so the world building could be flushed out and there could be more character development

The ghostly encounter you never knew you needed.

Haunt by Rachel H. Drake is a novella from the Creature Cravings Series, which can be read alone, and is a whirlwind of a ride. Emily is a lonely woman who has been through a lot and ends up building a deep and hot connection to a ghost. Can this non-traditional relationship flourish or will it fizzle out?

This was the first time I’ve read a paranormal romance like this. It was a lot to take in but it was interesting. I liked the interactions with Rosie and her witchy ways.

While the idea of emotionally and physically connecting to a ghost is a bit trippy, it actually kind of works here. It makes sense that she’d go to the “person” who has always been there for her and with her, even at her worst times. But, the story as a whole is a bit too much for me.

It feels like there needs to be a little more story here. It’s a nice introduction to both characters and the situation, but it just dives into the spice. Granted it’s a main ingredient to the story but it feels like some parts just happen and don’t have much substance. It’s a fun, intense, and heated story though.

If you love a ghostly paranormal relationship with a lot of smut, this is for you!

Haunt is a paranormal, fantasy, romance. It is weird and wonderful... and SPICY! Haunt is part of Drake's Creature Cravings series which appear to be standalone stories that are also interconnected. Fun and fascinating!

Since she was a child, Emily has had a ghost friend. He has never been a threatening presence. He comforts her and keeps her company. They've been together for years, and figured out how to communicate... sort of. He can answer yes/no questions, but Emily wants more. She wants to talk to her ghost and get to know him... in the biblical sense.

While the balance of plot to smut definitely leans towards the latter, the plot was engaging and the writing itself is quite captivating. Their relationship is a beautiful love story, and certainly unique. I definitely recommend this quick read. I look forward to checking out Drake's other books.

Of note, I listened to the audiobook, but that was not an available option when selecting the edition on Goodreads. While I wish it had been performed by two narrators to represent both main characters, the narrator did a great job.

I’ve been reading different books this year when it comes to spice. I read Unhinged: a door erotica and figured I might as well read one about a ghost. This isn’t my first ghost smut book. However, the ghost in this book is different because he ages with the FMC. Emily met “Ghost” at the age of six and over the years fell in love with literally a cool breeze of air. She wants him real and so she seeks out a way to do so.
While this is a short book, it was hard to stay in it—even with the spice. The spice is a strong 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️. It was hot, wet, and exciting! It sometimes overpowered the plot. However, I was not really a fan of the pregnancy trope.
The plot was all over the place. I almost DNF’d it, but kept pushing through. There was too much going on in such a short book. There was not enough world building, you’re kind of thrown in to a world with loads of supernatural characters and no background. The characters were hard to connect with. The characters would have a problem and perfectly solve it before you could really connect with them. The plot got corny at points and too lovey-dovey.
Overall, I would not read this again, but someone else might like it.

“My angel acting like a devil” 🥵

Right out the gate this book is extra smutty. I don’t think I’ve ever read a book that had as many sex scenes as this one but I didn’t mind it one bit 😉 Haunt isn’t the first audio book that I’ve listened to that had sex scenes in it, but it’s the one that had the most.

The audio itself wasn’t monotoned and I enjoyed it quite a lot! I did speed up the audio just because my brain is always in overdrive and is going 100 miles per hour at all times.

As for the book I loved the story line! This was the second book that had these kinds of beings in it (not saying for spoilers) but I loved it.

Let me just say. The crystal witch chapter? Did not see that going the way it did!

The chapters were short, which i personally love. The little plot twists that were written were written well and I’ll definitely be reading the other books in this standalone series!

Haunt by Rachel Drake is a paranormal novella that definitely delivers on the spice. This was a quick and easy read, perfect for an afternoon escape. This is the first book I have read by this author, and I really enjoyed meeting these characters from Lily Hills.

The preface of this book is a love story between Emily and a ghost that has been her companion from an early age. I thought this sounded intriguing and was super excited to dive into this short story. Without giving anything away, the story quickly turned into a different story altogether, so I felt a little disappointed that I didn't get the story I was looking forward too. I also felt that there were so many different types of supernaturals in such a short story, and I would have liked to have learned alot more about some of those. Luckily, there are many novellas centered around Lily Hills, so I will be diving into more of these so I can get to know the other supernaturals as well.

So I’ll just say this to start: this was WEIRD! I mean. Falling in love with a ghost is one thing.. but ghost smut and pregnancy!?! Rachel, what even!? 😅 next I’ll just say… I am HERE. FOR. IT.

The romance was so good. Soft, sweet, passionate, possessive (in a good way), unique. The spice was 🥵 fiesty, fiery, dirty, very NOT vanilla. The storyline was easy to follow and catchy, and unpredictable/unexpected tbh!

**It has a very fast paced storyline and can be read in one sitting, don’t expect a ton of build up. That’s the point of the creature cravings: they’re made for a palette cleanse and to bring you out of a slump!

Let me start off by saying this is probably my most interesting read so far this year. I've read paranormal romance before, but this was something.

It started off a cute little romance between Emily and her ghost. I would have loved a little bit more relationship building between the two. But I love how even though they couldn't talk, they found their out way to communicate.
It felt a little rushed after their first experience to me.
We went from a normal girl with an innocent ghost following her around since she was a child, to this whole new paranormal world, and not a lot of information on this whole new reality.

All in all, I thought it was a cute short romance. I just wish there was a little more to it

I received an E-ARC of Haunt from the author and this is my honest review.

I thoroughly enjoyed Haunt. I was immediately hooked and was curious almost as much as Emily was about her ghost and what the future could hold for their connection. As Rachel H. Drake, described, Haunt is a quick and spicy read that will satisfy a smutty reader’s appetite.

Drake did a great job building the complexity of the characters’ origin stories as they unfold throughout the book. Without spoiling anything, I loved how Drake weaved everything together—you’ll see!

There is a 100% chance that I will be reading the next book in this series, and I am very much looking forward to it!

Congratulations on Haunt, Rachel H. Drake!

Emily has had a friendly ghost presence with her since she was 6 during an unhappy childhood. He’s always there comforting her, helping her, they’ve found a way to communicate but lately it’s not enough, for either of them it seems. She takes steps to communicate better with hopes to bring him further into her world. She finds answers to questions she never knew she needed, more about their connection and a way for them to finally get what they both desperately need. For Ghost, Emily has become his everything and he’s just as invested in their future. A different paranormal than I’m used to, but in a very good way. Erotic, sweet, mysterious and intriguing and ultimately a HEA.

I loved "Haunt"! It was filled with both good and bad surprises from the paranormal realm. It was interesting to see the diversity in the characters, such as a very helpful witch, William, a ghost who isn't a ghost and is the main male character, an evil energy vampire, and Emily, the main female character who loves ghost/William.

I was excited to see what would happen next as I finished each chapter. Rachel Drake grabbed my attention from the first chapter and I couldn't put down the book. As a recommendation, if you want to sleep at night, don't start the book within an hour or two before bedtime. I stayed up half the night to finish it!.

This book is exactly as described in all the best ways! Readers don't have to wait very long to get the inside scoop on the relationship between MCs, and it gets spicy real quick! There is such a lovely tenderness between Emily and her ghost, and I thought the hurdles they face in pursuit finally being able to be together were entertaining.

I read this in one sitting, and it's a quick and easy palette cleanser for avid readers with large TBRs, or mood readers who need a break from longer/more complicated stories.

I can't wait for the next book in this series that will follow a new couple in the same setting.

Luke a Spicy Drop Dead Fred!

I've been looking for a spicy ghost romance and was happy to come across this one. Emily has had a ghost since she was 6 years old. He's been a constant supporting presence for her, but as an adult, she has starting having deeper feelings toward him and wants to explore how they can be together. All his breezy touches made me want my own ghost! There are a few twists and A LOT of spice on their way to a HEA. I would definitely reccomend this book and look forward to the next one about her sister.

This paranormal fantasy romance is page-turning with realistic, and well-developed characters that are ghosts and humans. Haunt is the first book in an interconnected standalone paranormal romance series. New books will be released every three months! Tropes/topics featured: pregnancy, breeder, HEA, and potential triggers. Their journey is enthralling with explicit erotica spicy smut, ghosts, humans, lust, desire, adventure, smut, and more. I recommend reading this book by an extraordinary author who knows how to captivate her reader's attention and hearts with Haunt and creature cravings.

Haunt by Rachel H Drake.
Creature Cravings
My ghost has been my protector and friend for as long as I can remember. But recently, our relationship has changed. He grows stronger each time he touches me and feeds off of our physical chemistry. I want him, but he is a ghost, and I am very much alive. How can this work? Now I'm finding out there is more to our relationship. Something has connected him to me and my family in the afterlife. Can I use this connection to bring him back? Though he has never scared me, this does. I’m afraid of how I feel and even more fearful of what I’d do to keep him with me, forever.
A good read. Good story. I did love the cover. 4*.
