This very short book provides a summary of the life of Zachary Taylor, the twelfth President of the US, who served in office for sixteen months before dying in office. It is geared toward children in the middle grades and covers only the basics. I particularly liked the depiction of major events of the period on a timeline but there is no in-depth analysis of these events. I will likely seek out another book that provides a more detailed account. Although this is not a book geared toward adults, I enjoyed reading it.

I thought this book was good because I love historical books. The reading age would probably be 4th grade and up. Zachary Taylor was born on November 24, 1784 in Orange County, Virginia by Richard Taylor and Sarah Taylor. What will Zachary do in his early life, presidency, and after presidency? read the book to find out!!!!!!!

Usually I have positive things to say about the books in this series about our nations presidents for children. The last couple I have read though, not so much. Again there was very little information that was written at an elementary school level that kids could understand and learn from. More information about what type of person Zachary Taylor was would have been helpful, something memorable to stick out for young readers.
