The book "Employalty" by Joe Mull is a must read that deserves the highest praise possible. The author's meticulous research and systemic approach to the advice make this book a game-changer for every employer seeking to create a culture of respect, engagement, and productivity in the workplace.
From cover to cover, the book as well as the free online resources are a treasure trove of insights and examples that illustrate what employees are looking for in the workplace. The chapters are rich and engaging, and they leave no stone unturned in their exploration of the issues that matter most to employees. Mull's passion for rehumanization and his debunking of the myth of lazy is truly inspirational, and his message will resonate with anyone who has ever felt undervalued, disengaged, or exhausted at work.
The book's footnotes are also a delight, as they offer a meaty and humorous commentary on the author's insights. Mull's sense of humor is contagious, and his witty asides and quips add a unique flavor to the book that makes it both informative and entertaining. I love his reference to Beauty and the Beast!

This book is an essential read for anyone who wants to create a workplace where employees feel respected, engaged, and productive. In short, "Employalty" is a must-read for anyone who wants to create a sought-after workplace where everyone thrives.
I hardly ever write reviews but I had to for this book. It is INCREDIBLE. It’s informative, insightful and inspiring. Every single page has some sort of aha moment and it’s incredibly well written and organised. As someone who appreciates solid resources and call to actions, this book was everything I could have ever wanted. This should be required reading for every business owner and those in any position of authority in a company. Honestly it should be required reading for everyone, if you’re not in a position of authority this book will help you identify what your experience should be - and the words and resources to help you demand it from your company. It’s empowering for both leaders and those they lead. I’ll be referring to and referencing it for a long time to come. Thanks Joe!
I'm not 100% psychic, BUT if you read Employalty as an employee, you're going to seriously question whether or not you are working where you want to be working 😂
The focus of this book is around 3 major concepts.
Great Boss
Coaching Trust Advocacy
Ideal Job
Compensation Workload Flexibility
Meaningful Work
Purpose Strengths Belonging
And how those 3 things affect retention, revenue, and reputation.
It's really good for helping you get more clear on your work priorities. 👏 and if you're a manager, a really helpful tool and guide for potentially shifting priorities.
I found this book really practical and applicable to the work that I do as a leader and supervisor. The focus is on the commitment that the employer makes to intentionally creating a humane work environment that inspires loyalty in the employee (hence: employalty). It gave me lots of food for thought and tools I can use to work with my team. I recommend!
