Falcon's Angel

Rate this book
It would take more than an ordinary woman to save his soul.

After his father’s shocking suicide, Will Falcon began combing the Atlantic on a mission of revenge against the vicious scavengers who stole his family’s fortune. But when a fierce storm plunges him into the dangerous depths off the Carolina coast, Will finds himself at the mercy of a courageous pirate lass named Angel, who defies her fellow scoundrels and saves his life. Angel is unlike any woman he has ever known–clever, fearless, and possessing a beauty so rare she could tempt even the noblest heart to sin. Torn between duty and desire, Will reluctantly accepts Angel’s protection, and together they begin a daring adventure that takes them from the wilds of an island paradise to the mansions of Charleston society. But will Angel’s sacrifice of her precious freedom for Will’s civilized world be enough to win his trust–or his love?

Will Falcon works for a shipping company because the one that was owned by his family went into debt and was gone to him. During one outing his ship hits a storm and he jumps over board to save some one and nearly gets himself killed. When he wakes up he sees his savior whom is a woman named Angel on a "pirate" island. Ironically this pirate island is one he is supposed to be helping clean out of the evil people in an act of family honor towards his father who committed suicide. Angel has no recollection of her child hood but only knows the island. She in an attempt to save Will says she will marry him so that he stays alive by the island rules. He ends up kidnapping her and taking her back to Charleston. She has to try to live by different standards than she is used to. This is only a small part of the book and I can not do it any justice.
There were several different things going on in this book, lots of action, adventure and romance. Good read and kept me entertained. My favorite part was the ending. :) It was a good length.

An unusual historical romance, this book has adventure, romance, passion and suspense. When Will finds himself washed up on an island inhabited by pirates and ship wreckers, the odds of him surviving were very slim, if it wasn't for the intervention of a feisty wild child stepping into the breach. Angel doesn't know her family or where she comes from, but she does know that the near-corpse on the beach is worth saving. Although Will is a sea captain and has seen a broad spectrum of life, nothing prepares him for the fey-like Angel who twists him up in knots before he knows what is happening to him. Angel, on the other hand, is desperate for knowledge of a world she knows little about. The story is well written and although some scenes were expanded to their limit, it was an interesting look at island life. I felt that the ending came a bit abruptly so that I had some unanswered questions and would have liked some clarification. However, I do recognise that is because of my own need to tie up loose ends. I received this book for free from eBook Discovery. I voluntarily post this review. This is my honest review.

Falcon’s Angel
by Judith E. French

A fast paced well written story.
An intriguing tale between two unlikely people separated by class. Will Falcon is shipwrecked on a beach after going overboard to save one of his crew. Unfortunately for him the storm was to strong to keep himself afloat.
He’s saved by Angel and the two are thrown together, she is his protector amongst the pirates that inhabit the island. Life for Angel takes a turn when she’s taken to live with Will away from the island life she’s known.
Plenty of action and mystery follow Angel and Will, a possibility that she could be a long lost heiress keeps the story flowing and keeps things intresting. The only draw back I had was that I would have liked to see the mystery of the heiress to be resolved, other than that the story was a page turner.

I enjoyed his story about Will and Angel set in Colonial America. Each character has their own hidden demons they need to excuse before they can accept themselves and each other. The setting was interesting, many of the interactions realistic and there was enough suspense to keep me reading on. I just wished there was an epilogue to tie up all the loose pieces to the story that were raised, expanded on and then abandoned. I received this book for free from eBook Discovery. Swoon worthy hero, heroine of great beauty, brains, and spirit -that's what this book is about. I enjoyed the story, and I couldnt out the "book " down until I finished the story. Great word builder-learned slot of new sweat words and colloquialisms
