★★★★☆ Wiley old fox and Secret Intelligence veteran, Sir Frank Fraser, arranges a ‘vacation’ for widower Connor O’Brien so he can check up on his son’s “little popsy” – one Sophy Woodruff. Throw in a suspicion of being an operative, a real name versus a nickname, a shirtless early morning shave in a woman’s restroom, a misplaced letter from a laboratory, a peek into someone else’s briefcase followed by a body search, and you have a fun set up. And what better way to place a bug in a woman’s bedroom than to be there to seduce her? Lord only knows what one would hear when the suspect is really a speech-language-pathologist instead of a spy.

Neat that the misunderstandings came at the beginning of this entertaining HEA story from RomanLandia. Plus, I loved checking out the meeting locations between Sir Frank and Connor!

Interestingly different in that the hero was a spy. The heroine was a bit of a ditsy mary jane type. She had an education and a good job though so she met the hero as an equal even if she was younger and a virgin. She kind of had him with his head spinning a bit which is a favorite trope of mine.

The plot was fun and moved along well. There was angst and humor and I liked the heat level between the hero and heroine. I will definitely look for more from this new to me author

Light, sweet, fun, read. Liked both main character, also the wily old Sir Frank, Sophy's eventually discovered grandfather. The romantic scenes especially the beach one was very sweet. Also, Sophy was really funny especially when she does the cat woman on the office ledge.

I'm really surprised at how much I liked this. At first, I rolled my eyes a couple of times, but it left me with a huge smile on my face.

Connor was only supposed to check out Sophy for a family friend, but he couldn't resist her. Sophy was a little on the naive side, but I really liked her. My heart went out to her for her interactions with Elliott. Truthfully, I would have liked to see elliott's reaction when he realized his father, Sir Frank, found out she was was his (Elliott's) daughter and welcomed her with open arms like he did.

When Connor came back for Sophy, my heart squealed with joy. It was perfect :)

Pretty good read even though I didn't get the title. They are both damaged and fight the good fight. My one real problem with this book was the ambiguity surrounding Sophy/Violet's foster parents. Did they love her or not? I'll probably need to read it again.

Mostly I just felt terrible for the heroine. And confused about whether or not her grandfather knew she was his granddaughter and that's why he shoved the hero at her or if that was just a coincidence. Anyway, she deserved better. From everyone.

I did not like it. I don't like heroes that have a deceased wife and child (just does not appeal to me), sometimes a story is so good that I dont care and it even adds to story (definitely not the case with this one, the hero, his wife and child felt very 1 dimensional and didn't even know their names or really much of heroes history besides basic facts). Heroine was better developed and I liked her for most part but she did things that made me roll my eyes (like getting stuck on ledge after mindlessly trying to get letter). Np.

The title bears virtually no resemblance to the book itself - while the hero might be a billionaire, he's mostly a spy posing as a lawyer (long story) and the heroine is a speech pathologist with a full life, albeit the usual faintly Dickensian background. The emotions and romance plot are done well, although the sex scene prose was more than usual-category-romance level purple.

I did not like the dude at all. I had to skim read the early part of the book because the way he was treating her was not roguishly charming, it was just gross gaslighty bullshit and if he fell off the ledge I wouldn't have been sad to see him go.

Her family was garbage front to back. I hope she's able to build a relationship with her younger brother, who clearly is in desperate need of at least one person who gives a fuck about him. ugh

Why do they always get me weepy and have a "happily ever after" ending...when there really is no such thing??
