Four strong novellas: a gothic fantasy, a murder mystery, a Shining-esque tale of ghosts and madness, and a dark and twisted exorcism story.

Tom Deady collects four tales taking place in his town of Edgewater with two short stories joining the two previously released in Backwater. I read Backwater awhile back, so I didn't reread those two tales, though "Class Reunion" remains my favorite of his stories. "Coleridge" was sort of a mash up of gothic and modern tale which had its moments, though I thought there was a perfect stopping point after which the story went on for two more chapters that felt unnecessary. I wasn't as big a fan of "The Devil Comes to Edgewater" as demonic possession tales aren't my favorites, though there were a couple of unique twists to this one. 3.5/5* rounded up.

This was a great read! All of the stories are very well written with good plot and development. The Devil Comes to Edgewater was my favorite story. That story makes this a 5-star book all by itself. I recommend picking up a copy for some spooky reading!
