Too Complicated

Rate this book
I’m in love with the man that was hired to keep tabs on me.
Turns out, I’m the one keeping tabs now because he’s my neighbor
…and he’s hot!

I was still able to think straight until I found out Noel had a son.
All my common sense went out the window when I watched him care for the kid.
The kid that his psycho ex just left at his door.

Yes, the last thing Noel wanted was another relationship.
And the last thing I wanted was heartbreak.

So I made a deal with myself that I knew I wouldn’t be able to keep.
Three words were all I needed to remember: No strings attached.
I was prepared for everything except… the two pink lines on a stick.

Noel was about to be a father again.
Was the hot single billionaire ready for another shock of his life?

Too Complicated is a full-length, single dad next door, pregnancy romance, with loads of forbidden naughtiness - the kind that makes you go weak in the knees. Filled with lots of heart and heat, all books in this series stand alone and promise a very satisfying happily ever after. No cheating or cliffhanger - EVER.

Noel St Martin and Harper Erickson's story. I liked Noel but Harper was a spoiled, privilege brat. she was so self-centered. but she does begin to change toward the end of the story.

The storyline went off the rails for me when the Cartel got involved and jailed and tortured Noel and Dax. I knew who the villains would be very early on in the story. It just lacked romance. Violence and Romance in the same story doesn't work for me.

I loved the way Noel and Harper loved baby Mo!! the interaction with Mo was really good.

Too complicated, indeed.

This book was exhausting.. there was a lot of back and forth, childish games between two grown adults and the plot was not believable at all. There were a lot of grammar errors. I want my $.99 cents back.

Okay I am just going to say it…. I did not like Harper (the harpy). When she was in Archer and Lane’s story I thought she was an obnoxious brat. When she was in Bran and Anne’s story I thought she was ungrateful, obnoxious, and cruel to her brother and decided not to read her story. Against my own advise, I thought why not give it a try she may be redeemed BUT heck to the naw. Harper was still a paranoid troll. She had an attitude with all the people around her and she came off as stiff with Mo. I did not buy her and Noel’s love affair it just did not touch me the way I wanted it to. Then Noel is supposed to be this bad ex mercenary and SEAL but kept getting his butt kicked I mean he did not land one punch😂His particulate set of skills must have been for the bedroom only 🙄

For the Love of a Child

Harper Erikson is the blonde-haired, crystal-blue eyed, beautiful, but spoiled, younger sister of billionaire and LA business man, Bran Erikson. Only four years apart in age, the siblings—or at least older brother Bran—was thrust too early and too soon into an adult world when their parents were killed, assuming responsibilities not only for his younger sister, but also doing battle against the board members of the family corporation who thought Bran not just too young, but also too inexperienced to manage the holdings. But, Bran has spent his teens under his dad’s tutelage and is prepared to take the company’s reins, and he has done his best to provide for and protect younger sister, Harper. And while Harper intellectually understands the burden her brother assumed when only 19, she is not sympathetic about his heavy-handed management of her life.

Too better protect his heiress sister from threats she has never acknowledged, Bran has resorted to hiring security to watch over his very attractive, stubborn and strong-willed sister and her best friend and sidekick, Anne Francis. Even now as Harper, a college graduate with a double major in psychology and business management, makes a splash in the modeling world, she seems oblivious of how she is a magnet for men because of both her beauty, and her wealth. So, big brother Bran has hired Saint Security to protect his sister. But, Harper has rebelled from her brother’s attempt to “protect and control” her life, and has refused to be shackled any longer with personal security.

So, when Bran learns that the founding CEO of Saint Security, former SEAL Noel St. Martin, who has recently stepped back from the day-to-day operations of the security company, has bought a house in an exclusive enclave in a beach front community, the protective brother decides that having a former SEAL as a next-door neighbor is exactly what his wild-child sister needs. And, when Harper views the house, unaware of her brother’s recent purchase of the property in an LLC, it is exactly the setting she has dreamed of as her ideal spot. And, it appears that older brother is winning.

But, what has not become public is that Noel has decided to step back from his active involvement in his security business. He has recently learned that he has a son and the baby boy has been placed in his care because of reported threats in Mexico against the infant boy’s mom. So, while Noel is a security expert, he is not an expert with little ones, and when his beautiful new next-door neighbor, Harper, who has recently become an aunt and loves caring for her niece, offers to help the new dad, it looks like brother Bran’s plan to have his sister secretly protected by close proximity to the security CEO will work.

But, Bran is unaware that Noel, an ex-SEAL‘s life is not without a dark past that threatens to re-emerge when members of a Mexican cartel develop a dark plan to destroy Noel. And the unexpected delivery of an infant with the claim that the baby boy is Noel’s son is the first move in the complex scheme of destruction.

Noel is ex military who was doing mercenary assignments and lost a buddy. After his loss he stepped away from that line of work and wanted his jobs to be within the law. He now owned a security company. His company does private security for VIPS and who ever hires them. He had gotten a job in Mexico and once he found out the security was for the head of the Cartel he left and returned home. A year later a woman he had a fling with dropped off a baby at his door saying he was the father and that she wanted the baby to be safe and the baby wouldn’t be safe in Mexico.
Harper was a trust fund baby who has never had a job her entire life. Her parents were killed and her brother took over the reins of the family company. He had always hoped and that she would take interest in working for the company but she never has. She also doesn’t like being told what to do. She had a problem with a stalker in the past and her brother had hire private security which went over like a load of bricks. The private security was Noel company. She wanted to move to get out of the city but not too far where she is in the boonies. After a year she found a place, fell in love and bought it. Her neighbor is Noel. As soon as she found out who her neighbor was, she figured it was her brother sticking his nose into her business again. Noel thought her brother was using her so he could buy Noel’s company. They had a love hate relationship. They couldn’t trust the other but their chemistry spoke volumes and they were drawn to get other from the very start. What happens when they don’t trust each other? I really enjoyed this book is a great companion in the series and I cannot wait for Kate’s book.

I didn't expect much and my expectations were met

These characters were beyond annoying. They had zero chemistry and were awful to each other. If you're one of those people who don't like books that could resolve more than half the problems then this book is probably not for you. They were suspicious of each other for more than half the book when both parties had seriously bigger problems to be concerned about. Noel is supposed to be this super spy military master mind but continuously makes dumb mistakes like leaving his gate open, inviting suspicious men into his home while his baby is there, and assuming his neighbor has something to do with someone snooping at his house when he's involved with the cartel. What an idiot. And he kisses Harper after she tells him his child is better off without him? Who does that. That is quite possibly the worst thing you can say to someone. Harper was just annoying and bratty. Then they're suddenly in love. It was partially my fault for not reading the other books but I assumed this was a standalone with spinoff characters. Still unclear if the author intended that. I caught on enough but more back story should have been there regardless. A major piece of her character was that she felt controlled by her brother yet her already billionaire over protective brother had used her womanly woes to butter up clients? Come on that makes zero sense. I've rambled enough, don't waste your time.

Too Complicated is the perfect name for Harper and Noel’s story because from the very beginning everything was just…complicated. They liked each other, hated each other and most of all, they were intensely attracted to one another. Explosive is a good way to describe things between them, which would normally be fine.
Except he’s got a new baby he’s fallen in love with, but said baby won’t stop crying.
Except she’s moved out of the city for a quieter life, to get some focus and direction in her current socialite lifestyle.
Neither of them want or need what the other isn’t actually offering, which makes it all so delicious.
I really enjoyed how they both misjudged each other right from the beginning and at times, it was comical just how wrong they were which just goes to show what a bad idea it is to judge a person by their outer shell. He thought she was a spoiled heiress and he wasn’t wrong. She thought he was a dangerous mercenary which he was. Kind of, on both counts.
I loved watching them fight and then fall into bed, or on a table together and it was just enough back and forth that I didn’t get annoyed with either of them. There’s a little bit of intrigue thrown in, which breaks up the romance and made Too Complicated a good time.
There were a few glaring spelling and grammar errors, which is why I rated it 4.5 stars but not enough to steal my enjoyment of Noel & Harper’s love story.

Not Everything Is What Is Seems To Be -
Noel didn’t trust Harper and vice verse, but this was because of Noel’s past life and Harper’s over protective brother. However, even though they bickered nearly every time they met, they just couldn’t stay away from each other and their interactions mostly ended up with them doing the horizontal mambo. Unfortunately, just as they had resolved most of their issues, they were thrust into a life threatening scenario, that nearly cost Noel his life. Fortunately, their friends and family were there to helped them get back on their road to a forever happiness.

I was hooked on this action-packed story right from the prologue, that he’d me feeling like I had just finished a spin cycle in a dryer, by the time I finished reading the book. It was a truly amazing experience reading this book, with all the steamy encounters, family drama, unpredictable outbursts and most of all, the camaraderie between all the characters. I suggest that you read this book over the weekend, because once you start it would only take an apocalypse to stop you from reading until the end.

Noel, the main character moved to the outskirts of town to be away from the noise and activities of the city. Major changes are happening in his life. Harper, the female character has been looking for just the right house and she has finally found it. Once she’s moved in she finds out who her next door neighbor is someone she knows and she is immediately skeptical. These two characters - Noel and Harper they have explosive chemistry - with a look, a feel, a touch. You can’t miss the emotions coming through on each page. The problem is the minute they start talking - they start fighting. The only thing they agree on is their desire, their passion, their need to consume the other. It’s sexy. It’s hot. It’s sizzling. The chemistry is off the charts. The characters are very complex, multidimensional and there is a good amount of back and forth. It’s an emotional roller coaster. There are accusations, confusion, lies, danger, turmoil and complications galore. Can these two find what they need to continue on in their lives? The story is about living, healing, believing, forgiving and loving. Well developed story. Great read!.

This is the 5th story A Single Dad Next Door, Pregnancy Romance Series with Noel and Harper. To say Bran, Harpers brother has been controlling of her life since they lost their parents is an understatement. Harper has decided to find a home for herself and finally finds one a year later in a remote area and unknown to her Noel is her neighbor the exact man whose company was hired to previously protect her. These two have a connection between them and when Harper sees how Noel deals with his infant son it opens her heart. They go back and forth of trying to have a relationship to not being able to speak to each, there is definitely a love/hate thing and love is when they are intimate! They have issues communicating and have misunderstandings that cause pain and heartache and when push come to shove Noel steps up to ensure his son and Harper are safe. Harper on the other hand goes against what everyone tells her and gets her man! I loved how this story ends, just a beautiful love story worth the struggles. Too Complicated is just that - complicated. Attraction, fighting, love, hate, upsets, lots of steamy moments, pushing and pulling, a cute baby and lots of secrets. This is Noel and Harper's story and it has lots of heat as well as heart!

Harper and Noel know each other and end up next door neighbors. He has a cute baby and is a single dad. Harper loves how he is with Mo but isn't sure the baby is his. He doesn't like to talk of his past and it causes a lot of issues and problems. They also seem to always doubt the other and never seem to be on the same page at the same time unless they are doing the deed.

They have lots of friends and she has a brother whom we've met before in other stories - and all are billionaires. The story has twists and turns with some scary moments. Of course there's a surprise pregnancy and after a while a happily ever after. There is nice closure with the epilogue that takes place six months later.

Ms. Williams takes me out of my comfort zone but her characters are always up to something and find love and their soul mate.

Noel and Harper are tough characters to love. They seem wealthy and can get any material things they want. They are so skeptical of each other and everyone around them. They are secretive and confrontational. The distrust drives them apart, but it doesn’t stop them from acting on their attraction to each other. Their angry sex lasts more than half of the story. Some of the plots are mind bugling. Why would Harper believe a stranger and go to find the truth about Noel in Mexico? When she realizes Noel is set up and thrown in Mexican jail, she goes straight to the jail. What does she think she can do there without resources? The seven degrees of separation in this story is so complex that I lose track who is who. By the time they finally settle in their relationship, I am more than ready to move on from the story. The saving grace for me is the action and relationship between friends. It shows positive side of these characters.

This story is well-crafted and like the title is indeed complicated. There's a lot going on and lots of emotions are evoked in the reader as you get to know Harper and Noel, they are well-drawn and likeable and you can't help but want them the get past the complications they face and achieve their HEA.

Harper and Noel have known each other for some time and are now next-door neighbours. He's a single parent to Mo, a cute baby whom Harper isn't sure is his, but she loves seeing the way he is with her. He may not like to talk about his past but he's certainly willing to express the attraction he feels for Harper. These two really need to talk but don't, they do however give into the attraction they both feel and there are lots of steamy scenes. Unfortunately, there's also lots of pushing and pulling, arguments and secrets, will they learn to trust each other and work things out and find a HEA?

Not everything is as it appears.

Too Complicated is Book 5 in The Billionaire Secret series. Once again Ajme has a way to draw you into her story with intriguing characters and plotlines. This one follows Harper a rich socialite and Noel a billionaire ex-military/ex-mercenary/security specialist. Oh and his newly discovered son Guillermo (Mo).
Absolutely loved this storyline and the characters well most of them lol. You will understand fully once you have a chance to read. I don't want to give to much away because whew 🤦‍♀️ I've read about some cray cray callous people in books before but Dauumm!!!!
It has drama, heartache, anger, danger, suspense, humor, passion, understanding, patience, forgiveness and above all else love.

I received an ARC from the author via Booksprout for my honest review and highly recommend this book.

I received this book with the understanding that I could leave a voluntary and honest review.

In this book we meet Harper Erickson and Noel St. Martin. Harper is sick and tired of being controlled by the men in her life. So when she meets Noel she thinks things will be different and they are until she learns he was hired by her brother to watch over her. Now she isn't sure what to believe including the baby that just happens to be with the man she is trying to avoid. Noel knows that Harper is hot and would love to get with her but with having his son dropped in his lap and Harper and her brother being crazy he wants far away from her. When they end up neighbors neither is sure if this is a sick joke. Can they find a HEA or will old wounds make sure there are no fresh starts?

Another amazing story by this author. I would highly recommend it to anyone and everyone.

I thought this book was so exciting and entertaining. Harper moves in and finds that Noah is living next door. Suspecting that her brother is involved, she is suspicious of Noah when he tries to befriend her. Noah starts to believe that Harper and her brother are trying to strike out a business deal with his, and he is wary of Harper as he believes she is being insincere. However, their chemistry explodes and so does their tempers. Add in an ex and a baby, and things get even more complicated. To be honest, Harper is a bit annoying - well maybe really annoying, but I can’t help but to root for her and Noah to have a happy ending.

This is book 5 in Williams Billionaire Secrets series but can be read as a standalone. This book is a well written and captivating romance story about Noel and Harper. The title is just too perfect for these two main characters - and really life in general for all of us - right?!? Love is generally too complicated, and this is true for Noel and Harper - sweet and steamy, love and hate all rolled into the chemistry between these two. Williams just writes in a way that evokes emotions and has you vested in her characters like no other and I just love each opportunity to read her books and can't wait for more!

This is book 5 in this series, this is Harper and Noels story, and what a brilliant story it is.

We saw Both of these characters in the last book when Noel was hired by her brother Bram to keep tabs on her as she had a stalker, they were not very friendly towards each other.

Harper had been looking for a house for a while and when she found the perfect one and bought she found out that her new neighbour was Noel, she thought that he was spying on her for her brother and he thought she was spying on him for her brother. They couldnt be civil to each other but the sexual chemistry was off the charts.

there are a few twists and turns in this book, and I loved it, I am looking forward to Kates story.

Harper and Noel have a complicated relationship. They both thought when they first met that Bran put the other to spy on them. However, that didn't stop them from getting together. Bran needing help with Mo, and it seemed like Harper was the only one to calm his crying. The drama and secrets will drive you crazy. Will they finally get it together and admit ow they feel? Is the danger over?

This is a great story but really takes you on a complicate journey to the HEA. This is a well written and very entertaining story. Its a book that any book lover would enjoy.

Too Complicated. This book didn't start so good for me. I was not happy with the way Harper was acting. She was so nervous about everyone and everything. She was skeptical of Noel. She thought he was spying on her and in cahoots with her brother Bran. Noel was just as skeptical of Harper. He thought she was spying on him. But their sexual chemistry kept them coming to each other for sex. When they finally realized neither was spying, they seemed to get along until Noel's ex girlfriend started making trouble for them. The story does get better and better as you read. There is suspense and adventure to this story and keeps you engaged.

Noel and Harper kept the mystery and suspense going in this single dad next door story. He had an affair with one of his client's daughters and never expected to have a baby dropped off. What happens next will keep you spellbound on the edge of your seat as this story unfolds. It is an enthralling story along with inspiring characters that I connected with and found myself cheering for to finding happiness!

Harper and Noel have a rocky history. Her brother had hired Noel’s security company to protect her from a stalker.
Harper had found her perfect home. Learning her brother had bought the house because he knew she would be drawn to it. He also knew that Noel lived next door so felt better about her safety.
Harper and Noel were suspicious of each other and the reason the other was around. Shared passion but with no trust how can a relationship form.

Harper lives next door to Noel, and the chemistry between them is explosive and undeniable. This is a well written story which has twists, family dynamics, drama, humor, and love, which leads to an entertaining, steamy, and heartfelt page turner.

I really enjoyed this book, it had humor, passion, strong chemistry, two adults fighting feelings and a little bit of mystery. Noel was not willing to give up any of his past no matter how hard he was pushed. I liked reading about the relationship Harper had with her brother, he was kind of a jerk at times and I found it hard to like him. And don't even get me started on Lupe. This was a well written book with a storyline that hooks you and a great hea. I strongly recommend this book.

The author does a great job building their story with some fun back and forth dialogue and delivers an enjoyable enemies to lovers romance. She kept me turning the pages with the suspense along the way. She moves the story fluidly with her perfectly painted scenes. Loved and recommend.

Harper and Noel's Story . . .

Harper and Noel are likable characters. The two of them live next door. Noel is a single dad with a baby his ex left on his doorstep. Harper and Noel finally give in to the attraction they can both feel, but they still haven’t learned to trust each other. There are lots of doubts and secrets, leading to arguments. Will they ever learn to communicate? Will the baby she is now carrying help solidify their relationship? Or have they just added more stress?

"No strings attached"

5 stars excellent from start to finish. Ajme Williams has created another excellent read. The storyline and plot held my attention from the 1st line to the last line. I am looking forward to read more. Would highly recommend this book to anyone who likes a great billionaire single dad romance with a bit of romantic suspense & a surprise pregnancy thrown in.

Harper just moved into her dream house and everything was perfect until she discovered that her neighbor is Noel a man her overprotective brother once hired to protect her from a stalker. Noel is now retired and a single dad to a newborn. The chemistry between the two of them is strong but can she trust him and what about all the secrets? A fantastic and very exciting book. It was filled with action and drama from the beginning til the end. I loved it
