Bonnie Delmar should be grateful for her new job. And she is! Being a nanny to a billionaire is a good gig. She’s more than grateful for the opportunity to work for Arlo Noble…until she meets him
That broad-chested, dark-haired, dark-eyed hunk? Yeah…she slept with him. Awkward.
But the worst part? Judging by the blank look on his face, their mind-blowing night didn’t register as a blip on Arlo's radar. He doesn’t remember her at all.
That’s okay! Bonnie needs this job more than she needs the last scraps of her pride. After all, it was three years ago. It was one anonymous night. It meant nothing. The best thing to do is never, ever, ever mention it to anyone. Especially not her new boss.
But Arlo knows Bonnie’s hiding something. As his suspicions grow, he decides he’ll do anything to find out who she really is…including giving in to the urge to seduce her.
Tangled pasts are no match for the sizzle of the present. When Bonnie’s secrets are revealed, Arlo must make a choice. Does he open his heart to hurt once more…or close himself off forever?
…and what happens when he finds out Bonnie's carrying his child?
Lilian Monroe lives in a luxurious jungle treehouse surrounded by lush greenery, with an army of scantily-clad men with rippling abdominal muscles ready to attend to her every need.
No, wait. That's not true.
Lilian Monroe spends her days dangling her feet into her pool, while a scantily-clad pool boy with rippling abdominal muscles feeds her chocolate-covered strawberries and massages her back.
Okay, okay. You got me. That's not true, either. Let's try again.
Lilian Monroe lives at home with her two children, three dogs, and twelve chickens. Her husband likes to work shirtless in the back yard. His sweaty, gleaming abdominal muscles ripple with every movement and he—
I'm sorry. I have to stop. Fine, I'll admit it. That one isn't true either.
How about this: Lilian Monroe loves thinking about men with rippling abdominal muscles serving her hand and foot, and she wants you to think about them too! She is an avid reader, writer, and lover of all things romance.
She loves everything from bad boys to billionaires. Her books are packed with sizzling-hot heat, action, suspense, and everything from second chances to single dads. She hates cheating and loves a good happily ever after (and rippling abs).
This would've been a 4 ⭐ for me had it not been for Arlo's fucked up. Boy, did it anger me so much.
Arlo (49), the hero, is a billionaire single dad. He's in need of a temporary nanny for a month because his current one is going to take a maternity leave. There in enters Bonnie (33), the heroine, she was jobless for a year now and took the nannying job to help her sister (owner of the nanny agency) and also to earn some money. Little did she know that the guy she hooked up in London three years ago is the same man that will be her new boss. On the day of introduction, she was shocked seeing him standing in front of her and was a bit hurt because he obviously had no remembrance of her. She then decides right then that she'll act like it never happened and will just be professional with him.
As for Bonnie, at first I'm annoyed by her antics. She acts like a foolish teenager in front of him, tripped herself multiple times, and stuttered when answering. For someone who has worked in the financial world and with the likes of Arlo, how come she doesn't exude confidence holding herself? I get that he rocked her world that night but that was 3 years ago and she seriously need to get a grip of herself. It's so annoying reading how dumbass she acts when she's far from it and when she says she needs to be professional but do the opposite. I also don't appreciate her ignoring all the warning of the people who care about her. She went gun blazing into a relationship with Arlo. She's so impulsive that she never bother to think about the consequences of her action. Her mistakes from the past should be a good reminder to take things slow between them. But no, her recklessness and horniness made her do the insanely irresponsible decisions in her life.
Arlo, I don't know how to feel about him. All throughout their relationship I can honestly say he has a one foot in and one foot out. He has so much issues caused by his ex-wife. A therapy would make his life a little bit better, there are so much baggage need to unpack with him. He was a very good father, that much was very obvious of how his relationship with his son is described in the book. He always make sure to have time for him despite his busy schedule. I knew there was something about him not remembering her and it was because but had a familiarity with her that he can't even explain. They had a good thing going until Bonnie's douchebag ex came into the picture and ruined everything for them. Arlo's issues made him doubt Bonnie, and blamed her for the mistake of his ex-wife.
Both of them have this attitude of falling fast and hard. They both jumped in the relationship with lack of thought and fell quickly into a routine.
It was rage-inducing how Arlo reacted to Bonnie's news. He didn't even listen to her and assumed the worse of her. Why does she have to suffer for the mistake of someone else's? She's been through enough already and had to pick herself up multiple times. Reading how she's used to starting from scratch just really breaks my heart, it seems the people she trusted only lets her down every damn time. I appreciate his efforts trying to fix his wrongdoing, but I don't think they're enough. He hurts her so much and she easily forgave him. Though in the epilogue it was mentioned that he never forgot how he hurt her and was continually proving he's sorry for what he did. I was expecting some more grovelling from him. Sad to say I was disappointed for this part.
Anyway, overall this is still a good read. I like the writing style and the story flow. I enjoyed it like the previous books in this series. Aside from Arlo's idiocy that majorly ruined the story for me. I'll still recommend this.
PS. Will there be a book for Rome and Nikki? I'm really picking up an enemies-to-lovers trope here. Which I'll be looking forward to very much.
my least favorite book of this series. i did not like arlo, and i felt like bonnie forgave him too fast. and their instant love (or was it lust) felt forced and weird.
This is book 4 of the "Big, Bossy" series, and I think this is my favorite so far.
Arlo and Bonnie have steamy chemistry between them, that results in a one night stand. Years pass, and both of these characters are different... shaped by their heartaches.
A surprise meeting brings them back together, and I enjoyed their journey to their HEA. It was certainly a roller coaster ride!!
This author consistently delivers engaging and addictive stories. I really enjoyed the steamy scenes and the emotions - good and bad.
I was fortunate to receive a free ARC of this one, and I happily/voluntarily leave my review. This is easy to read and connect with, and I recommend this read and this author's catalog of books. I look forward to the next one.
While BIG BOSSY SURPRISE is a nanny/boss age gap romance, it doesn’t follow the traditional nanny/boss trope. Bonnie has fallen on hard times due to loss of a previous job and having great difficulty in finding another job in the financial field. Going from owning her own beautiful apartment to subletting a small flat, Bonnie is on her last dime and agrees to take a temporary nanny gig for her sister’s agency.
Arlo has his own story of past heartbreak and betrayal but now lavishes his attention on his young son while running several successful companies. His ex-wife did a number on him and his ability to trust his own feelings figures heavily in the story.
I was hooked from the very beginning - invested in how Arlo and Bonnie met originally and in how they navigate this nanny situation with their interesting histories. Of course things go south for all the wrong reasons and we are left to keep turning the pages to find out how in the world things will finally be set right again. Good book!
I received an advance copy of the book from the author and this is my voluntary review.
I had a HARD time believing the h was not a teenager because her attitude and POVs were so immature. (Possible spoilers ahead) So, I read book #7 of this series first and liked it. It made me want to go back and read the rest of the series. This one was okay
Basically, h’s life is a hot mess. She constantly gets herself into situations, then she needs her sister to bail her out. At her old job, she was sleeping with one of her bosses (OM) and he ended up stealing her work, claiming it as his own, then firing her. She was also blackballed from other companies.
h’s sister owns a nanny service. h goes to work for H. She is extremely mad because H does NOT recognize her from their ONS 3 years previous. 🤪🤪 H knows she is familiar to him, he just can’t place it. He is suspicious she’s a spy or working for his crazy baby mama. Most normal people would mention “hey, I met you 3 years ago” but these people are not normal. h’s POVs drove me crazy.
From the moment she starts working as H’s nanny, their bodies are both “turned on” and the flirty banter starts. H’s POVs are mostly all about how he can’t trust women, but h makes him hard. A lot 🙃 Naturally, H is also working on a business deal with h’s old boss (OM) H has serious trust issues due to his scheming ex who intentionally got pregnant to get his money.
h says something really mundane on the second or third day she’s there, and H immediately knows it’s the woman from his ONS 3 years ago. 🤨🤨 The reason he didn’t remember her? Get this BS- he lost his glasses and couldn’t see her that well. Ffs 😂😂😂 Don’t worry, though. That night was the best according to both MCs.
There’s not a whole lot of nannying going on. Seriously, the little boy was barely mentioned much. What is going on is these two MCs dancing around each other sexually until they finally give in and shag each other. Birth control is not a huge issue because H was snipped. Well………
h ends up pregnant. H DOES NOT take the news well at all. He has her escorted out of his home after telling her he’d have his lawyers contact her. He wants a DNA test and he’s going to take the baby from her. Fabulous! They’re off to a good co-parenting start. 😩
The jokes on H, though because h also has some powerful friends. They help her. H starts to realize really quick that *maybe* he was wrong about h. lol
The grovel tour begins. H does a bunch of nice things, like he exposes her ex (OM) and says he’s sorry. h keeps resisting until the day OM attacks both of them. He’s mad because he was fired. H and OM get into a fight. It sounds like OM beats H’s face in. OM is arrested. h then forgives H. The grovel was ugh.
This book follows our main character Bonnie. Her career has just blown up and as a favor to her sister she’s filling in as a temporary nannie for some rich guy. Not only will this help out her sister, but it’ll give her enough money to get back on her feet after the disaster that went down at her previous job. Easy right? Until she meets her new boss…. Turns out she’s met this guy before and when he stares right back at her, there’s ZERO recognition. In a snap decision, Bonnie decides not to come clean about just how well they know each other.
Arlo desperately needs a nanny to help take care of William. His current nanny is going on maternity leave and the next one can’t start right away. He’s a single father and runs a successful business so he doesn’t have time to do it all himself. When his new temp nanny walks in, there’s something familiar about her. The sound of her voice, the little details she knows, but he can’t quite place why he feels like he knows her. She denies that they’ve ever met, but one thing is for sure—Bonnie is hiding something and he won’t stop until he finds out.
This book was ooey gooey cheesy, but in the best way. They talk a little bit weird (much like a soap opera) but honestly it made it so entertaining. I can tell it’s going to bother some people, but I just thought it was funny and enjoyed the ride. It’s your typical romance between a nanny and a rich billionaire. Bonnie moves in with them. Arlo is like a dog with a bone. It takes a while for them to give into temptation, but once they do, there’s fireworks. The title spoils the “big surprise”, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. It was fun to watch how it all plays out and guess when things are going to go terribly wrong. All in all, it was a fun and easy read. It’s light. It’s fluffy. I flew through it and giggled like a schoolgirl.
If you enjoy books about: ✨One night stands ✨The one that got away ✨Groveling ✨Great friends ✨characters trying to overcome their past
Despite the cheese, I’m always excited for the books in this series! I’m a sucker for the trope.
I've read every book in this series so far and honestly I'm not sure at this point i actually enjoyed them but for some reason I just can't stop going back and reading them. I've realized by now that they are very formulaic and I kind of know what to expect out of them. The book begins with a girl down on her luck who somehow ends up as a nanny for a handsome billionaire. The girl falls for the billionaire, they start a sexual relationship, and the girl ends up pregnant and billionaire reacts badly to girl revealing she's pregnant. Sure there are other stuff that happened along with way but that's the basic gist of the book (and from what I remember from the other books). I realized that my main reason for going back to these books is the fact that I enjoy the surprise pregnancy trope but I've also realized that it ends up just being the very ending of the book so it doesn't quite deliver everything I'm looking for. I like that I can go into the book and know what to expect but I guess I want a bit more of the book. I also not a huge fan of large age gaps so the 16 year age gap between the characters wasn't my favorite. I mean it was an okay read and I'll probably continue if there are more planned because despite them not being my favorite I'm also kind of addicted to them.

My favourite genre - workplace romance. Bonnie, working for her sister's nanny business arrives at Arlo's fabulous apartment as his new temporary nanny, only to be devastated that not only is he a man she met in London 3 years previously, when she had a well paid Wall St financial job, but even though they shared a passionate night together, no names exchanged and she sneaked out when he was asleep, he acts as if they've never met before. Bonnie's trying to get some cash together to restart her life after being forced out of her previous job. Arlo, having had a horrendous experience with his ex-wife/son's mother is somewhat suspicious of practically any woman in his path, thinking his ex is trying to get more money from him. Although he doesn't recognise Bonnie from the London meeting, he's drawn to her, feeling he knows her, but crippled with doubts and fears from his past makes for a struggle for a future. Great story. I started it in the afternoon and stayed up late to finish it, it was so good.
It took me two days to read this book and I can say this is my favourite series so far. The story is unpredictable and this book made me cry a lot of times. Bonnie and Arlo’s story touched my heart. When life threw a curve ball at Bonnie for the second time, she had to start over. She wasn’t afraid of it because she was a fighter. Her sister, Linda, owns Delmar Nanny agency and Bonnie was hired to babysit the son of a wealthy businessman. What a surprise when Bonnie discovered that her new boss was a guy that she met in London three years ago and they had a one night stand and since then she is dreaming of him. But Arlo had no idea who she was and Bonnie kept her secret because this job was very important for her. Besides, she had to help her sister. She knew that Arlo could ruin her life with a snap of his fingers, however she couldn’t avoid Arlo. On the other hand, Arlo had his own demons to fight, a past that haunted him and the fear of love. What’s going to happen? I truly suggest you to read it, because it’s simply amazing. More than 5-stars. A must-read.
I’m not typically a lover of age-gap romances, but I love The Manhattan Billionaires, so I dove right in. It was so worth the read. Argo is a father who’s dedicated his life to his son and his work after a very difficult divorce. Bonnie is trying to start over again after her relationship and her career explodes. She takes a temporary nanny position to help her sister out and finds that Arlo is the man she had a one-night-stand with 3 years ago, and hasn’t been able to forget. She quickly realizes that Arlo doesn’t remember her. Arlo does eventually remember her, and he’s never forgotten the one amazing night they spent together before Bonnie snuck out early in the morning. They both work to deny their chemistry, to maintain the boss/employee relationship, and to forget the pain of their pasts. Bonnie quickly falls for the dirty talking, sexy single dad, but will the ghosts of their pasts destroy their future before they even have a chance.
This book is awesome and I loved it! Lilian hits it out of the park with this latest tale in the Manhattan Billionaires saga. It’s Arlo’s turn to get his story and the woman for him is Bonnie. She’s been kicked down by life a time or two and working for him as his nanny is how she starts to rebuild her life. They have a shared past but Arlo doesn’t seem to remember. The chemistry between the two is off the charts and I love the way their relationship changes and develops as the story unfolds. There are a few bumps along the way as he deals with insecurities from his past. Add in some great friends and an energetic and loveable five year old boy and you get a story that is an absolute must read!
I read an ARC copy of this book and am volunteering my honest review.
This is the fourth book in the Manhattan Billionaires series. It can be read as a standalone but it is connected to the other books in the series so you could have some minor spoilers to the previous books. Arlo and Bonnie's story is a steamy, accidental pregnancy romance. It also has a little bit of a second chance romance feel to it. Three years ago, Arlo and Bonnie had one night of passion but Bonnie left before Arlo woke up. Names were never exchanged but it was a night neither of them forgot about. Bonnie gets a surprise when it turns out the boss for her temp nanny job is her one nightstand and he doesn’t recognize her. Both of them have been hurt by exs making it hard for them to trust each other. Steamy with plenty of heat and humor. I received a copy of this book from the author and this is my honest review.
This book is about Arlo, a billionaire and Bonnie who together had an unforgettable night in London.Three years later Bonnie can't forget him. Bonnie has fallen on hard times due to quitting a job where the guy she had an office romance uses her ideas she shares and then throws her under the bus. She goes to work for her sister again only to find out the nanny job is for the man from London. She feels embarrassed and is upset when he doesn't recognize her but little does she know he had lost his glasses that night. He feels like she is hiding something and is keeping her close to find out what it is. The chemistry is off the chart . Must read to find out what happens. Lillian always writes great books
Book 4 in the Manhattan Billionaires series, we get to see Bonnie and Arlo. Bonnie is in her thirties a girl who has shit luck with her life so far, Arlo 49 single dad were he is struggle with life events throw these two together and you get this book of trust and a surprise baby.
Bonnie character I felt for, some people review didn't warm to her but I did, Arlo character you warm to him throughout the book you can see were he is coming from yes he could of dealt with issue a bit better but you will understand when you this book.
We get a small glimpse of the other character from the other books, Bonnie friends are there for her which is heart warming.
Loved it!! I received an ARC copy of this book and I'm voluntarily leaving a review. This is the fourth book in the Manhattan Billionaires series and its Arlo and Bonnie's story. A one night stand 3 years ago, with no names or other details exchanged, leaves a lasting impression on both of these two. At an all time low, Bonnie takes a Nannying position to help her sister out of a spot of bother until a full time replacement can start. When Bonnie meets her new employer but he doesn't recognise her, Bonnie is ready to flee!! Brilliant storyline, fantastic characters and absolutely loved the HEA. Looking forward to Rome and Nikita's story!

Best of the Manhattan Billionaire stories yet! I unashamedly love Lillian Monroe's writing! All of these stories in this series of books are stand-alone but bear reading in order as characters from the previous stories appear in this one. I loved how well drawn the characters are and the reader has sympathy with both of them who have been damaged by love in the past. The story moves along at a good pace and I dare you not to try and read it in one sitting! If you enjoy these - check out her 'Heart's Cove' series too which feature older couples.
I liked this one better than the previous book in the series. Stronger female lead. I like women who find ways to not depend on men completely for the things in life. Seemed like Bonnie was figuring it out. But at the end, she just fell back into his arms without a stronger safety net or promises that he would set aside money directly for her in case she needed it or to help protect her from himself. The test she passed and the business plan are a great start. His behind the scenes help was wonderful penance.
HEA. Spice 🌶️🌶️🌶️

I really enjoyed this book. Bonnie and Arlo had a great chemistry from the start. They both felt it when they first met three years ago and now when they meet again after all this time, it’s still the same. But there is a little problem. Arlo feels connection but can’t remember why or can’t recall that they had ever met before. When the realization hits , the sparks are flying and the both fall fast and hard. But for both of them, the trust is the biggest issue that they both need to get over it and start trusting again.
Great story, with great spice. Definitely recommend it!
Argo and Bonnie are the next billionaire pairing. A billionaire single father who’d be burned by his ex at every turn struggles to believe the woman he’s falling for is only good intentioned. Meanwhile she’s also been burned and forced to rebuilt herself after her own awful experiences with her ex. Can they believe what they have is real no matter how quickly it materialized? What will happen when someone twists the seed of doubt? Read and find out.
I loved this story and seem to have found a love for the single dad genre. Arlo is out billionaire that has been burned by love. His son has his heart. Bonnie was on top of the world and for one night on top of Arlo. Circumstances have her accepting a nanny position that reunites her with Arlo; who appears to not recall their night. I loved this couple. They were real and likable with their insecurities and flaws. A great read.
Enjoyed this book, loved all of the books in the series and this is as good as the rest. We see Bonnie overcoming all the disappointments that life keeps throwing at her, struggling bravely to start yet again. Arlo is a tortured soul who’s previous wife hurt him badly. So good to see two people who’ve been hurt overcome their reservations and find love again, a sweet story.
I would have given this 5stars as the writing is good, and consistently good throughout but... I know this is fiction, and it would be a one in a million chance that there is an ultra hot, loyal, decent billionaire out there to marry, but it is possible. However, what isn't possible: is the story and subsequent misunderstanding from their original encounter. Fiction still has to make sense!
Very predictable. I really did not like Arlo. He tries to redeem himself with throwing his money around. He hurt Bonnie deeply. Deeply. I couldn’t have forgiven him. But I guess it wouldn’t be a romance if she gave up. Bonnie, however, is a stupid horny loser. Goodness, she thinks with her lady bits. I liked all the friends and wives of the other billionaires. Will probably read the next story. But this was just okay, with very flawed characters.

The Manhattan Billionaires series is one of my favourites by Lilian Monroe. 𝗕𝗜𝗚, 𝗕𝗢𝗦𝗦𝗬 𝗦𝗨𝗥𝗣𝗥𝗜𝗦𝗘 was a super sexy, single dad, close proximity, nanny/employee romance. Arlo and Bonnie were on fire. Serious sparks were flying and I couldn’t get enough of them together. I always enjoy a good second chance at love and they certainly deserved it. I’m giving 𝗕𝗜𝗚, 𝗕𝗢𝗦𝗦𝗬 𝗦𝗨𝗥𝗣𝗥𝗜𝗦𝗘 the judy.ann.loves.books stamp of approval, TBR and Enjoy!
Bonnie Delmar needs a job because she has run out of her savings after being fired from her job on Wall Street and being blacklisted in finance. Her sister got her a job with Arlo Noble as a temporary nanny for a month through her agency. Little did Bonnie know that Arlo was the guy that she could get out of her mind after spending a night together in London and Arlo didn’t recognize her.
Big Bossy Surprise is short and a lot of fun but I loved William!
