It all began with the kiss of Death.

Abaddon, the Destroyer, right hand of Lucifer, has returned from the dead with one thing on his mind: revenge on the Horseman who kept him from taking back what is his. But spending time alone with Death has awakened something between them, resulting in an experience that he enjoys more than revenge. The natural conclusion is to keep doing it, of course. He never planned on his heart getting involved with a Horseman he can’t even touch.

Death is the fourth Horseman of the Apocalypse, arriving only when the end is near. The Apocalypse he and his brothers were summoned for this time is over, lost when they lost one of their own, but the stakes are higher now than ever before. It isn’t just Earth that’s at risk; the fate of existence now hangs in the balance, with a power-hungry God ready to unleash a new world order.

Death cannot touch another and has resigned himself to spending his existence alone, until a kiss changes everything for him. When Abaddon returns, and they pick up right where they left off, Death doesn’t fight the attraction that spirals out of control faster than they can keep up with it. Death cannot feel Abaddon’s skin against his own, but Abaddon breaks so beautifully under him anyway, taking everything that he can give and asking for more.

Abaddon had never imagined that he would love anyone or fall so hard, so fast. Death had never imagined that he would find someone to walk beside him, someone to call his own. Time is running out for them, and if they don’t find a way to push back against the powers vying for them, all will be lost.

The last Apocalypse is coming, and no one is safe.

Death is the fourth and final book in the Four Horsemen series. This book is not a standalone and must be read in order. You have been warned.

Content warnings: religious themes, extreme violence, gore, blood play, masochism, and others listed inside.

Arachnophobia warning: There is also a dog-sized pet spider named Paul who just wants to be loved.

Death is a 112,000-word dark paranormal MM romance featuring morally questionable characters, unrequited hate, Angels, Demons, Horsemen of the Apocalypse, snark and plenty of banter.

“Can you make them love me?”
“No, son,” Lucifer said, his gaze sharp and deadly. “But I can make them fear you.”

God, I loooove Abaddon. ♡

4.5***** stars

No one did arrogance quite like Lucifer and Abaddon.
[From “Famine”, book 3]

After my first impression of Abaddon, having met him in a backflash in book one I wasn’t sure if I would come to like him but girl, that man (demon!) is a hoot. I LOVED HIM so so much and his growly, always ready fuck shit up attitude paired with unintended sweetness. He was a bit like a petulant child but in a super entertaining way. *lol

“I don’t need a damn escort. I’ll go up by myself, and if there’s anything for you pathetic assholes to do when I finish getting shit done, I’ll call for you.”

He could have just left through the fog from where he was, but he waltzed out the front door and slammed it shut for dramatic effect.

Death’s and Abaddon’s love story was so good. It began with Death’s Kiss. Imagine finding the one, knowing you could never touch.

But when they finally could, for a short amount of time, god, it was EVERYTHING!!

“You’re gonna kill me,” Abaddon groaned.
“Not this time.”

Knowing and losing was worse than never knowing. Death was sure of it. What they had before paled compared to what they could have had if Death weren’t who he was.

He had nothing to offer Abaddon except pain and distance. How could that ever be enough for a Demon who craved everything?

😭😭😭 They were so gone for each other.

Like all the other books, this one was fast paced, brutal, intense but I also laughed out loud quite a lot. It was glorious. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. I wished it would’ve never ended, I could’ve stayed with them forever.

You know what I really loved about this series? That all the characters had distinct voices. I was never confused about which POV I was in and recognized all characters at all times. They all were a fucking awesome bunch of characters, especially with all the bickering.

So, bye bye Connie & Raz, War & Uri, Lucy & Fam and Death & Abby. ♡
(the nicknames! *lmaooo)

side note: each book follows a different, intriguing couple but they all have an overarching storyline so they have to be read in order.

Who would have thought that the prickly demon would turn out it be my favourite character in this series?

I’m talking, of course, of Abaddon, once Lucifer‘s most powerful and trusted general, up until he died the „true death“ by the hands (and lips) of Death himself, the fourth and last Rider of the Apocalypse.

By now, Earth is mostly depleted of life, mainly because of a gone-mad God who wants to remodel everything (and everyone) „for their own good“. And the things our characters discover are truly horrifying- this is a God that literally mows down everything (and again: everyone) who doesn’t fit the mold and the role he’s assigned to.

Without spoiling the plot: it’s fun. Gory, but we’re used to that by now. And what I really REALLY love about this series, is the fact that the characters don’t really change. Yes, they grow, but they’re still true to their forever selves. There no miraculous cure for Lucifer’s occasional madness, or for Abaddon’s (or Uriel’s) cruelty. But it… works. They’re like a highly dysfunctional family, where everyone has their role, but who still stick up for each other when things are dire.

Side note: Abaddon trying to teach Raziel how to properly use his venom was hilarious 🤣

As for the relationship between Death and Abaddon: they’re perfect for each other, and - again - I loved the mutual possessiveness. What I wasn’t a huge fan of, like in previous books: the steamy scenes. There’s a bit too much pain and blood involved- yes I know they heal immediately because they’re immortal. But… ewww. Not to kink shame, but this is a bit much for me.

Still - 4.5 well deserved stars rounded up because I loved the epic finale that tied everything together. Great series, with a lot of very innovative plot ideas!

There are definite spoilers in my review, so be warned in advance!
*********

I'm kind of in two minds about this book (and the series as a whole) because although I did enjoy it, there were times where it felt like I was wading through quicksand to try and get through it. The pacing was frustrating. There would be long periods that really dragged and nothing much happened, but then the action would happen and it was over so quickly! But, I did have a full on emotional moment in every single book - like floods of tears, heartache, extreme empathy kind of situations, and that really redeemed the pacing issues and endless sex scenes for me.

Death and Abaddon's Relationship
I genuinely loved how they couldn't physically touch each other because if Death touches anyone, or if they touch his skin, they meet their Final Death and there's no chance of resurrection for the Immortals. This meant they were way more creative, their relationship was more based on how they made each other feel, and I enjoyed that so much after the absolute sexfest everyone else has been having!

I kind of wish it had stayed that way though, but I also found the entire groups time in the Dead Dimension incredibly emotional. Because all of their powers are nullified there, everyone realised they could touch Death and not die! Honestly his brothers being able to hug him, touch him etc. for the very first time (bearing in mind they've been alive for thousands of years) had me bawling my eyes out!!! The emotions around it were so well written and you could feel every character's relief at being able to finally have that physical affection. Death finally getting to experience physical touch was amazing to read. It was also pretty epic when Death realised he could actually touch Abaddon... like I think their chemistry was insane at that moment and that's not always something I feel!! The way everyone quickly leaves the room when this realisation was made though had me cackling.

Where it had me in two minds was when they're back in the normal dimension and Gaia realises that because Death and Abaddon are soulmates, they can touch without killing each other. Like, this was definitely awesome for them, but I do kind of wish it had been left as it was, or at least drawn out a little longer because Gaia makes this discovery almost as soon as they're back from the dead dimension - there could have been so much pining for each other's touch now that they know what they're missing!!!! 😂 They were so perfect together though so I can't complain too much.

Also, they are the ultimate possessive partners once Abaddon can share Death's power - touch him and die?? Noooo - well I mean, yeah, obviously they would die - these two are absolute savages. They will happily permanently end anyone who even looks at their partner in a way they don't like and I absolutely loved that energy! The other's all acted possessive too, but with Death and Abaddon it just has a whole other meaning to it and makes the rest look like child's play.

Overthrowing God
Fucking finally!!!! This felt like the never ending story at points and it was never really explained how God had gained all of this extra power, other than 'science stuff'. I would have liked to have known more about it, but at the same time he irritated me so much and I was sooo happy to see him get what was coming to him. I actually found the whole plot around God really interesting because it did align with a lot of my thoughts on why I'm not a fan of religion at all. The way it's emphasised that he basically has an army of mindless clones who follow everything he tells them to really resonated with me! That's exactly how I see religion - an organised cult with a hive mind, full of hypocrisy.

The Wider Cast
Ok, so I feel a little cheated that after book one, Conquest and Raziel added a third to their relationship, but we never get to see their relationship from their perspectives. Is there something I'm missing? It just felt unfair to Atlas that we get to know literally every other significant character except him! I would have appreciated even a short story explaining how this happened, how they felt about each other etc. instead we get a second hand account of things. I want to see Conquest and Raziel's thoughts and emotions on what's happening, and I want to know who Atlas is outside of his military profession.

I'm fascinated by Cael, the human who became a demon/angel hybrid, and I'm curious if there are more stories relating to the side characters in this series, because if there are I really want to read them! I loved his sass and they way he spoke to Uriel was hilarious.

I do have to say though that I was so over the squabbling between these guys, they argue over everything and every spoken word is perceived as a slight to them or their partner and then threats occur. At times it felt like supervising a bunch of toddlers who hadn't learnt how to play together or be nice!! It did get old real fast.

The Constant Sex Scenes
Honestly I have never understood this aspect of romance books where there's a mission to save the world in the plot. Every time they get close to achieving something, or when they have to do a task in a timely manner, they all think it's the absolute perfect time to have sex. I was getting exasperated at this because it slowed the plot down and they were just included for the sake of it. There were barely any meaningful sex scenes, or sex scenes that moved the plot along. The ones that did were great and I loved the emotion in them, but with the others I ended up skipping over them completely because I was just so over it. I don't care if you've wrapped yourself into a pretzel position and it feels 'so fucking good', get on with your fucking jobs, no wonder the world's gone to shit!!! I swear, this series could have been condensed so much if there weren't so many pointless sex scenes 😂 I know I'm Ace so my perspective is different, but this just felt excessive.

My Favourites
It might sound like I didn't enjoy this series, but I truly did 😂 There was a lot of fun when it wasn't annoying me and I definitely have some stand out characters.

Best Couple: Famine and Lucifer - no one else has the same intense bond in my opinion, plus their history is so vast. Loved them together.

Best Character: Lucifer. That man was everything and he made this series for me.

Best Side Character: Hades. I loved him and I want to see more of his relationship with Azael

Best Creature Companion: This was a close one, but Paul the Labrador sized spider just beats Valkyrie the horse of Death. I fell in love with this huge arachnid, and if you know me you know how fucking strange that is, because if I even see a small spider in my house I get tempted to pack up and move out immediately rather than get near it 😂😂

Look. Call me dramatic, but the author took an established couple from earlier in the series, and in book three decided suddenly this couple would become a throuple. With no explanation, short story, or anything. Then in this book, that is amplified (even though this wasn’t their book). I just felt betrayed and annoyed and I can’t get over it so it really dimmed my enjoyment of this book and the series as a whole. If I was told, when I read that particular couple’s book, that they’d eventually add a third, I would’ve been okay with it. But they were very monogamous, very possessive, very soul-matey, and I’m just annoyed. You don’t go changing the dynamic of an established couple. I can’t trust that any of these other soul-mates remain as established in their books.

Disregarding this, and my pathetic emotions about it (shows how much I was enjoying this series), this was an absolutely fantastic ending. It was very well-written and well-paced. The romance between Death and an incredibly annoying Abaddon was very well done. I still don’t like Abaddon, but I really loved him for Death. Their sex scenes were crazy and hot. I loved the whole “nobody can touch Death” thing. I also loved how Death and Abaddon got enough time for their romance while still being the final, plot-wrap-up book which is something a lot of fantasy romance books with this format fail at. The “banter” drove me fucking nuts though. All the snarking at each other the group did was exhausting and I did start skimming those scenes.

Anyway, I’ll never trust this author again but I will definitely read more of their stuff…just bitterly.

“Not trusting a horse to hide something you consider so important is probably a good start?” Abaddon said sarcastically.
“There is no one I trust more.”
“Excuse me while I go puke.”
“You have two minutes.” Abaddon flipped him off, and Death smiled in response.

i wish this book, and whole series frankly, worked for me … but alas 😭😭

So I’ll start with what I did not like- the contradictions that were frequent and may not have been huge but still were frustrating such as Abaddon basically owning Atlas in combat and only letting him live after being begged to but 5 seconds later War saying Atlas was too powerful to defeat and they weren’t prepared to fight him. Then there was the no safe place to go to so they went to Atlas’s old apartment but after the next battle(see above) Gaia takes them to the Dead Dimension all cool like it’s under my power why TF wouldn’t you have said that sooner??

The most disappointing thing for me as this series progressed was the addition of Atlas to what was a monogamous relationship that had the first book in the series dedicated to it. Personal choice I don’t read much poly and I certainly don’t want a couple I felt a strong familiarity too to suddenly change dynamic in the background like nbd.

Finally what I enjoyed- Death. He’s one bada$$ mf and he got the perfect demon for him and they had heat for days. I was happy to get the conclusion and with how it all played out.

“I don’t regret that decision. You create chaos where there is no need for it. You’re unpredictable and a threat. That hasn’t changed.”
“But you don’t want to kill me anymore.”
“No.” Death smiled, and Abaddon felt it like a physical caress. “I’ve found I enjoy doing other things with you.”

I refuse to believe that this is the last we’ll see from this world. There are so many side characters that need their own story, that a full spin-off series could be written. And I'm gonna be there to read them all. Even a book with just the companions chilling around with Paul as their leader.
It took me a while to finish it, mainly because it’s quite long and I'm a turtle reading but also I just didn’t want it to end. I'm gonna miss all the action mixed with, out of nowhere, banther to relieve the situation. And how they keep adding more members to this dysfunctional found family.
If you like darkish stories, with a little bit of kink (some books have more than others), with a lot of comic relief moments and the best pet spider you would ever find, you should give this series a try.

description

We didn’t get to see much about Abbadon and Death together in the previous books, so I didn’t know what to expect. What I didn’t see coming was Death’s possessiveness and kinkiness, that was a pleasant surprise. He was always portrayed as the centered brother, always thinking before acting. I really enjoyed seeing his other side when Abbadon was around. And I'm glad that we got to see past Abbadon’s prickly personality. And even though there was a lot going on with the final battle, there were enough moments between them that we got to connect with them both.

A dark yet wholesome series, in its own twisted way. The perfect installment to wrap up this amazing story.

A Joyfully Jay review.

4.25 stars

Death is the fourth and final installment in The Four Horsemen series by Sienna Moreau. Like each of the previous three books (Conquest, War, Famine), the romantic life of the character Death is very much at the center of the story. It’s already been well established that Death cannot touch anyone; to do so would instantly kill that person (immortal or no) with no chance of reincarnation. The work-around in this story is pairing Death with Abbadon, a demon who not only loves inflicting pain, he also finds it the only real way he can get sexual gratification. Plus, Abbadon has the usual immortal healing powers and so Death using his powers instead of his touch doesn’t kill instantly. These parameters for our two romantic leads are catnip for me and I was excited to see how it would all play out.

Don't get me wrong, this was good but War/Uriel and Famine/Lucifer will always remain supreme. It ties things up nicely and sets up a good start for Atlas, and hopefully Raphael, Hades, etc at some point. I think it got a bit too campy when they all got together but I can understand wanting to play off each character and their personalities, so the banter was amusing at parts. I also didn't feel the soul deep connection between Death and Abaddon but it is a lot harder when their romantic history doesn't span centuries.

Also, I was very confused on who killed Abaddon and when. I swear Abaddon said he had been killed by only one horseman (Death) but then they talked about Conquest having killed him before. Abaddon says he has been gone for centuries but Death describes killing him with Raziel around. I gotta think I am misunderstanding the timelines but that through me off for the whole book so if someone can clarify, please feel free to share.

So, I noticed today that a 5th book is listed on Amazon now titled "Atlas" and scheduled for August 2024. The description says it's about Atlas, Conquest, and Raziel. FUUUUUUCCCCKKKKK YESSSSSSSS

While I don't know what the book will bring, I completely trust this author to deliver. I'm guessing it will fill in what a lot of us wanted to see. This is EXACTLY what this series needed. The lack of visibility into Atlas' character and their triangle was my #1 issue by far. The rest of the series is nearly perfect if that issue is fixed. I will certainly be updating my review again once Atlas releases.

Holy fuck, I can't wait. I'm SOOO fucking excited. This series is probably going to make it to my "favorites of all time" now.

THANK YOU, AUTHOR!

Original review:

This is a whole series review, with individual feedback by book as well. Overall rating, 3.5 rounded up because it's a really good series, especially for a debut author. It would be a 4.5 or maybe even 5 if not for a couple tolerable but really annoying issues/creative decisions.

It's not as dark as I thought it'd be (and I read a lot of dark stuff). Sure, there's violence and disregard for human life, but it's not highly detailed in most places. There are a few scenes that are a bit shocking throughout, though.

The world-building is pretty damn good, mostly consistent. I never lost immersion in the universe.

Every book is well-edited and constructed. It's clear the author spent a lot of effort making this a great series.

Conquest
This book is awesome, the best of the series, 4.5 stars rounded up to 5. I wish it was ~100 pages longer or so, but it's current length is acceptable. Surprising for such a new author.

Conquest and Raziel just work. I loved how loyal and faithful Conquest became with Raziel. Conquest always giving in to Raziel's curiosity and innocence is so fucking sweet.

The sex and intimacy between the two is so fucking hot. Sooooo hot. Conquest likes to dominate and own Raziel, and Raziel holds nothing back.

One thing I didn't like... (mild spoiler for an early scene) Not a huge issue, but annoying enough that it's a 4.5 instead of 5.

War
Yeah, so War and Uriel are my second favorite couple, and their story is well done. 4 stars. Uriel gets on my nerves a bit because he's so fucking stubborn and blind despite being thousands and thousands of years old, but the humor and teasing from War does a lot to offset his abrasiveness. Individually ranked, War is one of the best characters in the series.

The bit about their past together, especially when they talk about (moderate spoiler/reveal of late book plot element) was a tad bit confusing. It didn't come out of nowhere... but it didn't have as much build up to it as I'd expect when they were having that final conversation.

Famine
This is the hardest one to rate. I'm going with 3 stars, maybe a 3.5 rounded down? I like Famine, he's the most morally stable and least reprehensible Horseman. Lucifer though? Eh, I totally get why he is the way he is. He got royally fucked over. But it was just so hard to relate to him in any way beyond him being in love. He's vicious at times, and the up/down extreme rollercoaster is a bit tiring. But it wasn't intolerable.

The biggest issue I had: (mild spoiler about Lucifer's past involvment with the Horsemen and Heaven)

I really don't understand Famine's powers much, either. Like I get he's powerful, but it just seems like such a mixed bag? It wasn't all that distracting, but I never quite knew what to expect from him, unlike Conquest, War, and Death.

This book was saved a bit by more detailed involvement of the overarching God plot. There's one major issue I have with the series as a whole, and it starts in this book, but it primarily comes out in Death's book, so I'll save those comments for that section of this review...

Death
This was my least favorite by far. I'm not sorry I read it because it does conclude the series very nicely. But damn there's some infuriating shit in it. I really wish the author went a different direction.

First off, I generally hate most of Abaddon's personality. He bitches and moans so fucking much. It's so fucking exhausting. I started skimming Death/Abaddon only scenes around 30%. I didn't miss much. It reminded me of Uriel bitching to War, but like way more annoying and frequent, plus War wasn't there for comic relief. It was just too much.

Secondly, the sadism/masochism/blood stuff did absolutely nothing for me. The other 3 books weren't like that, so it was a very abrupt change with this book. Don't get me wrong, to each their own kinks, but that's not my kink. I don't like when one particular book in a series deviates from the general content found in the other books. It's like if an M/M series has an M/F book in the middle or end of it... uhhh I'm reading for M/M, but now I have to skim this M/F if I want to continue with the series that has an overarching plot line? Feels bad, man. I almost didn't read this final book because of it. But instead, I just literally skimmed all of the Abaddon/Death sex scenes. It wasn't hot to me at all, and I didn't miss anything.

Now! We finally get to my biggest complaint by far about this series. It's the thing I mentioned started in Famine's book... (moderate to big spoiler about Conquest/Raziel and their involvement of a third)

I generally liked Death's character, and I love how different he felt from his brothers' characters. It was just a weird pairing with Abaddon, plus a weird third-person perspective on the Conquest/Raziel/Atlas situation.

Given these issues, I have to rate Death at 2 stars. I'm going to bump it up to 2.5 for the well-done epilogue, because it really is that good. (Yet again surprised this is a debut series.) But still rounded down ultimately. I can't completely forgive the Conquest/Raziel/Atlas issue, nor the switch up to sadism/masochism at the end of the series.

---

I really loved Gaia throughout the series, and I thought the overall ending was very well-executed. It's not overbearing but also not a "wham, bam, done in 5 pages or less" conclusion.

But, it's still a great series, and I'm really glad I read it. I haven't read a series this good in quite a while. I'm really hoping the author gives us a follow-up to it with Conquest, Raziel, and Atlas.

I'll read any MM/MM+ this author writes in the future, without question. They're that good.

“Death” is a great conclusion for this series! Once again, I loved every single part of this book. The world-building just keeps getting better and better! The pacing was good even though I would have preferred the final part to last longer because it felt a little rushed for me. Aside from that I loved the ending, it was a perfect HEA for me, it makes me so happy for them.

Honestly, my point of view of Abaddon changed drastically with this book. Before, I used to think of him as a very violent, crazy and murderous Demon. Now he’s more like a very violent, crazy and murderous teenager but still a teenager (a very sulky one). He’s also younger than any of the Immortals, even Uriel. But I adored his character development through the book. Unlike Abaddon, Death is just quiet, mysterious, cute and level-headed. I love the way he talks: so respectful and only when he has something valuable to add to the discussion, his mannerisms also show that he hasn’t gotten used to the human customs like War or Conquest for example. He’s clearly my favorite character of the series.

Abby and Death’s relationship is very unique and interesting. Since the beginning, Abaddon’s attraction to pain intrigued me. Death literally gave him the kiss of death. The fact that they couldn’t touch each other makes their bond very special. I could notice Abaddon’s and Death’s struggles when they thought there was only physical attraction between them.

Since the beginning, they share a deep connection and this bond is beautifully depicted throughout the book. The author conveys very well the mutual feeling of loneliness and a forbidden longing of tenderness. Abaddon hides behind his temperament, his anger and hatred of weakness. I guess Death is more subtle, he obviously envies touch and warmth but he was been alive of a long time so he tries to be cautious but fails at the same time: he’s somehow possessive, bossy (especially with Abaddon) and romantic. I think their pairing is one of my favorites with Lucy and Fam because it felt more profound in my opinion than the others.

Raz and Abby’s friendship is so adorable. The fact that Abaddon soften himself thanks to Death’s advices is so cute. Talking about cute, I absolutely love the Cherubs and Micah.
I’m so happy my wish was granted with Atlas. Of course, they need to sort things out but it’s great. I can’t wait to see how it works for them.
Finally, I hope we’ll have a story for Cael, Raphael… What if Cael was the reincarnation of Michael when Gaia recycled him? Raphael had a weird reaction to Cael so maybe it means something. Anyway, I’m glad we get some “new” Immortals who were once humans (like Atlas and Cael and the other hybrids).

Still trying to process that this is the last book of the series. Fuck.. what's happening? 😭😭

This might be my favourite book of the whole series yet, which is impressive af in itself because let's be honest: all the stories were fucking amazing ✨

What made this special to me was the emotions. I know okay!!? I always say that I hate them but listen to me. Normally I wouldn't give two fucks about the emotional state of the characters because I find that I quickly detach myself from them.

Death and Abaddon couldn't be more different though. These two couldn't touch each other. 🥺 They couldn't even kiss. If they did then one of them would die. If not both. Because Death is death.. whatever he touches he kills. And somehow his “charisma” found it's way to Abaddon because one moment he's a normal psycho demon and then the next he's having the same killing touch that his “boyfriend” has. Like hello??? How is this even possible 😳

We're sharing powers now!???

In another review of mine I mentioned that the overall plot has to do with the horsemen of the apocalypse being called into the human dimension to bring judgement. Well fuck me sideways.

Because the twists in this story mind-blowed me and even mind-fucked me 🤯 Did I expect to see God acting in weird ways? Yes. Because in contrast to may people I don't believe in a perfect God. I know he's more similar to us than he'd like to admit. Did I expect him though to be straight up evil and do these abominations while trying to keep his throne? No.

Actually.
It wasn't the damage he did that surprised me. It was the extent of the damage 👀 Because make no mistake. He only cared about his own ass and how to keep himself on the top of the hierarchy.

If you told me that all the "bad beings" would unite to fight him because he was out of control I'd never believe you. Or maybe i would. I don't know. As I've said.. I'm not the biggest fan of this guy. 🙄

Anyway. Expect a lot of sexual tension, a lot of cursing and also.. a lot of steam 🥵🥵 Trust me you're not ready. 🔥

P.s1: I did not expect Abaddon to be a painslut 😳😏
P.s2: help.. Abaddon's personality 😭🔥
P.s3: Raziel had me crying 🤣🤣

Three of the Horsemen and their Angels
Conquest and Raziel
War and Uriel
Famine and Lucifer

Death and Abaddon (the fourth Horseman and his demon. (Death speaking to Abaddon), “You were literally made to be an Angel, not a Demon.” Death knew who he was, “Death wasn’t placed on the board until the very end. He was the monster in the shadow, the one that signaled the end was near.” Now that he had Abaddon he wasn’t ready for any end. I loved the workarounds that let them touch each other.

The Horsemen and their angels were forced out of their safe haven. Trying to figure out God’s ultimate plan was their goal. I loved what they found out along the journey. The brothers feelings for each other, their men, and the menagerie that came to surround them created a beautiful landscape with so much depth and feeling.

The Horsemen were the main story but their individual Focus’, the horses, Paul, and Alba were very instrumental to the depth of the series. Add in Atlas, Lucifer’s loyal demons, cherubs, Gaia, some semi helpful angels, and a sleazy fire demon artifacts dealer and the whole story goes to next level.Even the evil deity of all deities (not benevolent at all and totally unlikeable) added to the story. All of the various characters added to the complexity of this book and the series.

This isn’t meant to be a gushy review but it may of strayed into that category all on its own. I loved this book (and the series) so much that I found myself reading slower and taking more breaks just to stretch it out. This, for me, was one of those rare books I wished I could give more stars to. Be prepared for blood, lust, and good immortals doing bad things. I enjoyed it very much.

The Four Horsemen has been a dark and edgy series and this is the final book and conclusion. Absolutely read the books prior to this one. The storyline of what’s been occurring to the Horsemen and their battle finally ends in this book and it is epic. The entire series has been such an interesting and unique tale of the Four Horsemen and all the different players in this world and the afterworld.

Between the seriousness and drama of the battle they are all engaged in are some absolutely funny moments and scenes and the banter between the entire group makes for some good laughs. There’s a dark humor in the writing that fits the characters so well. There are some emotional moments that blend well between the action and snark.

A lot of the snarkiness comes from Abaddon’s character. He’s grumpy, cynical and has a chip on his shoulder. When you find more of his origin story, you learn the root of his hurt which turned him into the dark character he is when we originally meet him. His relationship with Death is intense-each believing they were on their own, loyal to their friends and brothers but not thinking of ever finding someone for themselves.
The steam between the two MCs is edgy, rough and a little dark and their relationship isn’t full of a ton of tender caresses. Being two of the darker of the characters of the series, their dynamic is fitting.

The ending is a fitting conclusion to the series as a whole. It’s an epic battle and the reader gets a piece of each character as they face this final challenge.

This series MUST be read in order. Even though each story focuses on a different couple, there is an overarching plot that would totally make no sense if you started here. Plus there are quite a few spoilers for the previous books. We finally get Death and Abaddon and they're super fun. Death is pretty level headed while Abaddon is pretty chaotic all over the place. It was interesting watching Death help rein in some of that off the wall energy into Abaddon and give him the care and support that he has never quite gotten before. Abaddon also had to shake Death up at times just to keep him on his toes! This one is long but we have these two sort of dancing around each other in the beginning while things are set into motion for the final showdown. Overall, I think the pace was quite nice and always forward moving. There were definitely a few surprises that I did not see coming and I am really happy with the ending! I do wish that we got to see a few more viewpoints at the end, but no real complaints over here. I also wouldn't mind a little spin off with Hades and Azael. They were really interesting side characters that we didn't get to see too much of here but were really integral in Famine.

This series is a must read for any fan of Four Horsemen series. I love the characters and I think they stay pretty true to themselves even after finding their forever person. There's quite a few ups and downs and each one felt like a well deserved happy ending!

Abaddon and Death have finally arrived, and they are a ton of fun. When compared to Abaddon's general anarchy, Death's demeanor can be described as relatively calm. It was fascinating to see Death provide Abaddon the care and attention he had never received before, thereby helping to channel some of his erratic energies. Even Death need occasional jolts from Abaddon to keep him on his toes. This one goes on for a while, but it's worth it to see these two "dance" around one other for a while before their inevitable battle. All in all, I thought the tempo was good and that things were always progressing. There were a few twists and turns I did not see coming, but overall, I like it and found the resolution satisfying. I would have liked to have seen a couple more perspectives at the conclusion, but other than that, I have no major concerns. A side story with Hades and Azael would be entertaining as well. They were vital in Famine but were only peripherally featured here.
Everyone who enjoys the Four Horsemen should read this series. Despite discovering their soul mate, I feel that the characters maintain a good deal of their individuality. There are many highs and lows, and each satisfying conclusion was earned. I received a copy of this book from Gay Romance Reviews, and this is my honest review.

I AM FUMING...... this story has now ended. Yes we have a typical H.E.A. but honestly I had no idea how we were gonna get there.

Death has been so lonely, and to be fair I never thought he would be unable to even touch his own brothers, he is that touchstarved. Never even kissed someone until Abaddons final death, where he requested a kiss.... making it Deaths first ever.
As for Abaddon, now knowing his back story, knowing how innocent he was when he was murdered and why. I can certainly understand why he is so prickly and standoffish. He doesnt trust anyone and with good reason.

I loved how they felt about oneanother. How they showed their jealousy of another looking at either partner. Both getting to be selfish in love for once in their lives.

As for the story with God.... Honestly there were so many twists and turns that I couldnt guess what would happen. However, despite it being a hea ending.... I liked that most characters remained the same, only changing for their partner(s). Also the fact that some of the characters had PTSD type symptoms, after the battle and experiments.

Wow! The previous books in this series led me to expect something special for the last book and did Sienna Moreau ever deliver. I gave up really early trying to predict how anything would go in this story and just went along for the amazing ride with these characters. The fact that Death finally found someone he could love and be loved by was both heartbreakingly sad and wonderful at the same time. The type of relationship he and Abaddon develop is appropriately dark but also absolutely perfect for them and fulfills their needs beautifully. Unfortunately for them, they can't focus just on their own feelings and needs, the author has set up an existential conflict with more twists and turns than even they may be able to keep up with and survive. I'm a big proponent of jumping into a series wherever a book strikes your fancy, and I won't tell you not to do that here, because while you won't understand everything, you'll find an authorial voice, world building and characters that will guarantee you'll be compelled to read the previous three books so you can understand this one when you dive back in for the inevitable re-read.

Absolutely devoured this book.

Good series finale
Had been waiting for Abaddon and Death since book 1 because I actually liked the demon from the start (first 3 pages into conquest book I thought they were the main pairing)

I love death calm demeanor with the absolute chaos that is Abaddon.
I liked their SM dynamics and their relationship
The fact that Aba still is a bloodthirsty fighter even tho he is on a lil leash created by death is something I like in writing

I felt like I’ve read books like these before but this is the upgraded version????
Idk I really like this author. Will continue to follow along for the journeys.

One thing I’m that I skipped throughout the whole book was any interaction that conquest raziel and atlas had. I ABORRE new adding to parings. Dislike majorly

Raziel felt like such an UNNECESSARY CHARACTER AFTER ALL THIS. Felt like they based the whole thing of conquest and atlas and conquest and raziel
The relationship between raziel and atlas is just random and weird.
Idk.
I will continue to ignore that atlas joined the group as a lover and not a friend.
No sense whatsoever. Urgh.

The conclusion of this amazing series is finally here, as is the final apocalypse. These books have fascinated me from the beginning. Heaven, Earth and Hell. Immortals and Mortals. Archangels, angels, demons and everything in between. God, Mother Earth, the Devil and the created Four Horsemen Conquest, War, Famine and Death to hold everything in a balance. But when one decides to grab all the power and creates a war not seen before, and with friends turned into foes, who will win in the end. What will it look like when all the dust has settled. Will there even be anything left. And will the Four Horsemen who each found the other half of their souls and some more still be alive to enjoy their newfound happiness. The demons are plenty snarky and a lot of bantering goes around. Some kinky sex scenes as you would expect between such opposites. Some gore imagination as well. But that would be expected, right?

Thank you to GRR for providing an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

MJ recommended this series to me ages ago, but I didnt want to start until the last book was about to release. When I received an ARC, there was no better time for me to binge the series from start to finish.

I loved this series. It was such a unique take on the Four Horsemen and the overarching plot lines kept me intrigued so that I never got bored. The characters were interesting and there were honestly more laugh out loud moments in these books than I was expecting. Can we just take some time to appreciate the horses and Paul? I never thought I would come to love a giant spider, but here we are.

If you're looking for something fantastical and a great MM series, definitely think about picking this one up!

Death have been the mysterious brother throughout the series, the last to enter the scene and the most powerful of the four.
You never realise how lonely he is until you come to his book, how he yearns for a connection and once he finds it, he does everything to keep it. To keep the one made for him.
Abbadon held on to his trauma for so long, and his found family helps him through it no matter how much he resists it.
Plenty of sarcastic back and forth, cute cherubs and much spice.

My favourite moment in this book have nothing to do with our two love birds

The series got a nice ending, things weren't better suddenly, it takes time and it shows. I would love to read short stories from the guys, because I still can't get enough.

Really amazing end to an amazing series

Such an amazing book and an amazing series. I loved Death and Abbadon, despite hating Abbadon before. The intricacies of this 4-book-arching plot are amazing and the whole series is just so coherent and makes so much sense. But this is first and foremost a love story and the balance between paranormal romance and fantastic heroic journey is perfect. The love story is heartwarming, I was there with them and rooting for them wholehartedly, despite masochism not being my thing at all (it’s an important part of the plot in this one).

TWs include, on top of the ones stated by the author at the beginning of the book (masochism, extreme violence, gore, a spider pet the size of a dog) torture, scientific experiments on humans and other Immortal beings, mental manipulation, bullying and extreme physical violence during attacks against a child and dub-con.

So this is like my 1st review, normally I'm a lurker but couldn't resist posting a review for this book.. Loooved this book and the series so much! Death and Abaddon were perfect for each other and the way they made their little family with Valkyrie and Micah was so wholesome..Also loved the way Abaddon and Raziel were slowly starting to become friends..this was a perfect conclusion book, though as many people were saying I would love it if there was a spin off series for many of these secondary characters. Also it would be awesome if we could get a novella about Conquest,Raziel and Atlas story..Overall this was an awesome paranormal series for those of you who don't mind reading some dark mm.

I have been looking forward to the release of Death since I finished reading Famine, and it was totally worth the wait. This book was the finale that this series deserved. This story was amazing! The relationship development between Abbandon and Death was captivating. The part of the story where Death is able to touch the for the first time, and the emotion that the brothers show being able to hug for the first time. It really showed the connection that the brothers share and how much Death really resigned himself to never being able to have that. This was an epic end to a fantastic series and I cannot wait to see what stories the author puts out next.

Definitely recommended reading a series that must be read in order for the best reader's enjoyment. You'll miss a lot of pertinent details of the overarching plot.

Not only were the main characters, Death and Abaddon, absolutely fabulous. So were the myriad of secondary characters. Despite who they are, neither could hide their pull towards one another. Lots of heat, worthy battle and an end that was worthy of a re-read.

One of a few series I wish were to continue but am glad to have the honor of enjoying the four books, nonetheless.

Wow, this is a hell of a story to complete our Horsemen series.

I have to say out of the whole series this is my fave couple. Abaddon and Death.

Abaddon is my spirit 😂 he’s always pissed off, snarky so impatient. I agree with him when he says he doesn’t trust smiley happy people as it’s suspicious 😂

This relationship is so dark in terms of how they enjoy eachother with pain and blood, but is weirdly romantic. I don’t know how Sienna managed that but it felt tender even though it wasn’t, if that makes any sense, or maybe it’s my warped mind.

Death was such an interesting character and I loved the focus of how he feels alone without not being able to be touched or touch flesh. It makes him so much more endearing.

The plot intensified as they prepare for final battle and it’s absolutely amazing. You feel relief when it’s over. All these guys deserve their HEA.

Brilliant story, fantastic chemistry, steamy as hell, dark and just fantastic entertainment.

Completely bummed this series is finished, but what an ending. Couldn't have imagined anything better for Death and though he's always shown as the quiet one, he's absolute filth, very kinky, LOVED IT! 😁 Absolutely adored the scene with the hugs (no spoilers). Sienna was proper sneaky, tsk tsk lady, but I was very pleased at that wrong being righted. AND Micah was cuteness personified 😍 Whole series is a must have, you will not be complete without it.

I received an ARC for an honest and voluntary review.
